Rachel Weisz - MET Costume Institute Gala 2009
Rachel Weisz tempers her confection of a dress with dark lipstick at the “Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion” Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4).
The 39-year-old British actress was outfitted by Vera Wang in a strapless, blush hand-painted tulle-draped gown.
“I feel like a punky princess,” Rachel said.

I Love it, the perfect balance between innocence and Victorian Gothic. A great combination and Rachel pulls it off.

Could do with out the dark lipstick but outside of that, Rachel looks fine.
maybe in person the dress looked good, but in these pics teh color does nothing for her, let alone the lipstick.

This is refreshing, a pretty dress with a beautiful woman in it. Yes, Rachel looks very beautiful in it and owns the entire evening. A far cry from the monstrosity of what Madonna was wearing earlier.
i love rachel and i think she’s beautiful. but i really dont like what she’s wearing here. i think the dress looks great on her white skin but the hair and lipstick and accessories dont look that great. still beautiful though!
Its the best dress of the night hands down and Rachel really works Im. not happy with the yellow undresses but it still looks good on her.
Rachel looks great, the black lipstick has some charm and the whole outfit really sets her apart from the pack.

Hands down and with out a doubt, the best dressed of the whole Met’s Gala Ball. Rachel is simply stunning in her Vera Wang dress that mixes style and bravado all at once. I wish most of the people who were there with her were as good as she was,which unfortunately was not the case at all.

Last night’s Costume Institute Gala was pretty dismal in the fashion department but Rachel Weisz did managed to dress like a real star. She’s the only winner that came out of last night.
