Rihanna - MET Costume Institute Gala 2009
Rihanna takes control in a black puff sleeve suit, white ruffle shirt and black bow tie by Dolce & Gabbana at the “Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion” Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4).
Justin Timberlake, Kate Moss, Marc Jacobs and Anna Wintour will host the annual gala to raise money for the organization.

anyways the suit is instyle. if you check blasberg he has a fabulous pic of lake bell in a balmain suit that is equisitly cut and she definately looks great…better than justin timberlake and many others tonight.
not because she has a degree but i agree with fabric princess…the fabric is wack and the pinches look a bit weird off balanced. and also if anyone cares i saw ciara in something like this 4 years ago. so yeah. good on recyling style in the recessionista designers. i still love D&G and i think they and rihanna have one of the strongest looks of the night.

There is nothing to be jealous of here. This is a triumph of bad styling over substance. The suit is edgy but does not work. Just because it’s different and expensive doesn’t mean it’s flattering.
This is the same Mickey Mouse ears look D&G tried in the fashion issue of British Elle. The models who wore it there didn’t look very good either.
Back to the drawing board for Rihanna’s stylist. He/she needs to find a beautiful creation that will make Rihanna stand out in a good way.

yeah i saw this one again from the side on wwd and it had to stop a bit and look at it because it caught my attention. so yeah i think she had a good look for the night. about the ciara wearing this before, i saw ciara’s prom dress on wwd…and it wasn’t a good look. TOO MANY PROM DRESSES THIS YEAR.
and about the hudo clan and friends wearing stella chanelling studio 54 in the shimmer jumpsuits, really it wasn’t necessary.
it’s the COSTUME gala. it’s not necessarily your typical red carpet with evening gowns. some people go all out.
