Rihanna - MET Costume Institute Gala 2009
Rihanna takes control in a black puff sleeve suit, white ruffle shirt and black bow tie by Dolce & Gabbana at the “Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion” Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4).
Justin Timberlake, Kate Moss, Marc Jacobs and Anna Wintour will host the annual gala to raise money for the organization.

costume gala… i think overdressing or wearing something people wouldnt wear normally even to major events is at place for such a costume gala.
so the outfit is in my opinion good for such an event. sometimes you have to have the guts to try something different.
look at some catwalk events. dont you see models wearing outfits that are tooo crazy. but still they rock it. it suits such an event so therefore rihanna did great and was fierce and edgy all at once.
and still she manages to get draw attention to her pretty face.
I dont care if this is an DC outfit, Janelle wore it better some time ago, it just goes to show riri has no respect for anyone she will jack you momma for some attention. The media and her fan club have given this girl way too much credit for something someone can wear 100% better it’s just you put her in the spotlight and that makes her!

i agree with Ethan , she has a great body , she should wear a dress . She shouldnt have cut her hair though on the sides ,now that she is growing her hair back it look ridicilous in front like she has the whole hair infront .
Rihanna is average looking but has nice eyes.
Her outfit is so outlandish that it detracts from rather than draws attention to her face.
This was not a costume gala.
It’s held to benefit the Met’s Costume Institute but it’s a black tie gala. That’s why you don’t see people in “costume”..not even for last year’s Superheroes themed gala.
People dress up. They don’t wear costumes. They wear haute couture.
Rihanna’s tux does not fit her and she looks silly rather than chic.
