Tyra Banks - MET Costume Institute Gala 2009
Tyra Banks dons a crazy bun of hair at the “Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion” Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4).
The 35-year-old talk show host accompanied designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka to the swank event. Tyra wore a Badgley Mischka Couture metallic black strapless fishtail gown. She accessorized her look with BM jet chandelier earrings, BM glass stone, crystal cuff and BM Couture shoes.

A big smile would have gone a LONG way. She looks like she is about to attack someone. She doesn’t even look happy that she is wearing that thing.
Everytime I see Tyranasarus Banks, only 1 word comes to mind, FIERCE! But shiit should really be the word when it comes to how she look right here.

okay so despite the crasy tyra she was bang on with this badgley mischka dress. i think what i really like (although the dress remindes me of prom) is the colour and the reverse frills. the look is on point but she could have totally done someth
something with the hair…but then that would be the usual tyra we’ve seen before. the hair style is a little bit strong for the dress, but i think the braid chapeau works. i mean hair is the new accessory. lady gaga has done it with the hair bow tie, fergie did braid earphones…i think it can work. it’s crazy but it can fit a style.

She could write a book called “Fun With Buns!”
And it could give all kinds of useful things to do with her bun chapeau. For instance…
1. Nut bowl. just place it upside down on your coffee table and fill with nuts for guests for a smart looking treat!
2. Small dog water dish for those outings in Central Park; the dog will look tres chick sipping from a hair hat.
3. Diaphragm. Well, you never know when you are going to need sexual protection and if you can’t get to a store to buy condoms and you left your diaphragm at home then just insert this baby in and get to boggying!
Well, all joking aside so far the only passably decent dresses are hers, Blake Lively and Jessica Biel’s. But even they are ‘generic’ looking event dresses. The rest looks like bad prom dresses especially Rachel Bilson’s. Good god, the eighties called and they want their overly rouched awful green mini back… I guess it’s just really hard to scare up a special gown or something unless it’s for the Oscar’s.
