“THIS ain’t your daddy’s World War II movie,” Quentin Tarantino said with a grin, standing on a street corner here that had been scrubbed of 21st-century signposts to become the set of “Inglourious ********,” his new film about a band of Jewish-American soldiers on a scalp-hunting revenge quest against the Nazis.

Although it was mostly shot at Studio Babelsberg in Potsdam, Germany, the movie’s subtitle is “Once Upon a Time in Nazi-Occupied France.” So on a three-day sojourn in Paris in December, Mr. Tarantino and his bi-continental moviemaking coalition commandeered a 1904 bistro with peeling paint, Art Deco stained glass and a wall of windows overlooking an intersection of identifiably Parisian streets in the 18th Arrondissement.

“We had to have a scene to sell the audience that we’re in France,” Mr. Tarantino said. “This is it.”

“Inglourious ********,” which is to have its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 20, is Mr. Tarantino’s first movie since “Death Proof,” half of “Grindhouse,” a double feature and box-office flop that he directed with Robert Rodriguez, and his first solo feature since “Kill Bill Vol. 2” in 2004.

Mr. Tarantino calls “Inglourious ********” his “bunch of guys on a mission movie.” Judging by the script, it should have the crackling dialogue, irreverent humor and stylized violence that are hallmarks of his work.

“You’ve got to make a movie about something, and I’m a film guy, so I think in terms of genres,” he said. “So you get a good idea, and it just moves forward and then usually by the time you’re finished, it doesn’t resemble anything of what might have been the inspiration. It’s simply the spark that starts the fire.”

One can always debate whether or not the details are true, but I have seen the proposal and can reveal some very racy details.
Mr. Brett recalls a time when he heard a lot of baby noises from the bedroom and it didn’t sound like any of Branjelina’s kids. Brad Pitt, wearing diapers and a baby bib, ran out of the room and into the bathroom despite having a bathroom in their bedroom, not realizing Mr. Brett was watching. Awards may be infuenced by marketing - there is no denying that. But it is pretty simplistic to think that is all there is to it. It simply isn’t. There was very little marketing for Angelina Jolie’s Oscar nom this year and, quite frankly, even Brad didn’t get that much Oscar marketing. And marketing does not explain how both Jolie and Pitt were nominated for every award - every single major award - this year. Including the British Academy Awards - with almost no marketing. Brad, as I’m sure you will recall as you know every friggin thing about this man, was nominated twice for Benjamin Button AND Burn After Reading. Those crazy Brits!

Brad was truly robbed of noms for Jesse James. I was surprised to find that it was Brad’s performance and not Casey’s, as was the conventional wisdom at the time, that was the really remarkable one.

Both Leo and Kate were simply awful in Revolutionary Road - a simply awful movie. Nothing like the book. See everyone’s opinion is different. Brad’s performance was remarkable especially considering how hard it is to create a character from scratch as opposed to mimicking a real life figure as Sean Penn did. Brad completely deserved his nominations - all of them - last year. And he deserved noms for the two years preceeding it for Jesse James and for Babel. But that’s the breaks.

Brad is on the cover of one of our newspaper in France. They say the interview is from two days before Easter Day. He talks aout IB and family and how paparazzi tried to take their pics when they were in Berlin and they had to build afew things in their villa in Berlin to secure their privacy. He said kids came to set afew times and it was hard to find time for them to bring them in set becase the movie was full of blood and bad jokes. He said Angie is filming right now and it is hard to find time for vacation during Easter but how they have a plan to make one of the best Easter day for their kids. He said Angie is doing a film that his boys love it , she jumps on cars and things like this and boys love it and he goes on and say he doesn’t know what future will hold for them but they will welcome new babies and how they probably will add at least one more kid to their brood and he goes on and say he doesn’t believe in happy ending and how no matter what will happen to them in future as a couple , they are going to stay parent to their kids for life. he said

It’s certainly the most awaited release of this cinematographic season. The editing of the Inglourious ******** is almost done. The most awaited come back of Quentin Tarantino, “maybe” will be seen at this year Cannes Film Festival, from the 13 to the 24 of May. The bad lieutenant, Brad Pitt, one of the main characters, who plays Aldo Raine, boss of the “********”, the american soldiers who takes the scalps from the killed nazis, and cut a swastika on the ones they let go, has agreed to have a phone interview.

In Inglourious ********, you are again the villain, with a deep rough voice, the bad attitude, who incites some jewish soldiers to kill the nazis and take their scalps.
As an actor I like to change, to take some risks, even if I didn’t grow up in a place where a boy had to prove to be a macho or a tough guy. My character, the lieutenant Aldo Raine, Aldo “the Apache” can’t show any weakness to his men. His weakness has to turn out as strenght. He’s stubborn, astute and fierce. He’s a free man, in his own way, a man who built his life in self-denial. He’s a man with a mission, but the rules he follows and defend, are the same rules that hold up his paths. The role of the lieutenant portrays Quentin’s universal themes, history, life, death, love, hope, but most of all this sense of loss common to all the human beings.

In the first trailer we saw, you are yelling to your jewish american soldiers, with a rough voice, to kill as many nazis as possible, and you say the word “fate” twice. I think it’s an appropriate word for this movie….
The character I play doesn’t believe in fate, chance. He thinks that a man can make his own destiny. Not everybody who gets an apportunity, takes it. He’s giving his men this opportunity, even though it’s violent and cinic.

Maybe that’s also the chance for a grown up man to play the war game, as one does as a child?
That’s not the case. In others movies, I surely had the chance to let my inner child to go out and play. It’s true I like to do things that remind me of my childhood, my adolescence. Everything, but the passion for guns. It’s weird, I grew up in a wild place, where it was usual for a father to pass his gun to his son. That said, it’s always charming the role of the outlaw, the bad lieutenant, the cowboy, the thief, the man who’s always beyond the law, who lives according to his own rules. Maybe we live in a society that imposes so many rules, that sometimes we want to break them. In this case however, I don’t see my character as a hero, He’s only a man, thrown in a bad situation, who will make so many mistakes.

Some journalists have said that Tarantino tells the war with the language he loves the most: visionary, apocalyptic, like a comincs, maybe a little too over the lines, talking about such a dramatic subject.
It’s not only a historical movie, it’s a modern movie with a personal viision of a historic moment. I can’t say nothing more, but it’s a very provocative movie, Quentin style. In the script, Quentin tells in his own way, how Hitler stole german society, stole the culture, the education from them, brainwashing them. He made them think the jewish were not even human beings, less than that, and the Arians as the leaders of the world.

While you were shooting, all your family was “reclused” in a rented estate at Wannsee (near Berlin) with a heliport and dozens of bodyguards. When you were shooting Interview with the Vampire with Tom Cruise, you talked about how it was working with him and how he was dealing with his celebrity. Today how do you deal with your own celebrity?
I don’t think there’s a way to learn how to be famous. It’s a beast to tame and you have to make lots of compromises. Watching Tom I’ve learned a lot, how to protect myself and my family. In spite of my level of celebrity, I too am part of the system but I will never compare myself to Tom, he’s so very good in dealing with this. In the last years I’ve changed very much, but what guides me are the same wishes, desires and instinct.

I’ve heard that some paparazzi have pics of you and Angelina strolling around Berlin, shopping.
I’ve always liked berlin, it’s a true melting pot, an eclectic city, dynamic and very modern. We have found an old shop where they still make some hand made “bonbons” following old traditional recipes. In the shop called “Bonbonmacherei”, very colorful (it seems a movie from Felini) all the family is working to make the traditional berlin sweets. With Martin Wuttke and Eli Roth we have found a bohemian place where we had soup made only by season vegetables, very good.

The gradations of speculations range on JP threads to wild off the wall speculations with malevolent intent, to circumstantial, to reasonable predictions of “why”…e.g. “By posting ONLY Brad’s and X’s posts, it’s like they are a couple again” would be circumstantial. The reasonable predictions of “why” lay the framework for a factual and logical foundation in a discussion such that an analysis towards the believability of a particular POV can be obtained.
Perhaps ground control and lylian can elaborate more on the validity of “circumstantial”…that is their arena, not mine.

When you are famous, working for charity has become almost de rigueur, and while it can be stunningly effective (witness Brad Pitt in New Orleans) it can also be profoundly off-putting.

That is perhaps why I’ve tried to work out a few helpful hints for myself.

I’ve only just started to understand that being a celebrity means dealing with this large projection that I lug around with me. It’s a bit like being on a promenade, pulling around a great big bunch of multicoloured balloons — something inflated and distracting that follows me wherever I go. So, if I happen to be shouting about HIV or poverty or torture, I cannot blame people for asking themselves why I’m shouting about that when I’m clearly selling balloons. And of course, on the whole, people prefer balloons to poverty, so a public profile may guarantee me attention, but it doesn’t guarantee that anyone will hear what I’m saying. Far from it.
.
A good start is to learn as much as you can about a subject and then work out how useful you can actually be. Being practical about it is vital. This is advice that I would tender to anyone interested in activism of any kind: ask yourself why you want to do it and remember that self-righteousness irritates rather than inspires.
.
Part of the problem lies in semantics. Words such as “charity”, “cause”, “development”, “human rights” and “activism” can all become skewed with misuse. At best, overuse renders them banal. But at worst they become counterproductive. Say “human rights activist” and increasing numbers of people will just slam their hands over their ears. There is causeweariness even before you prefix “human rights activist” with that extra soul-sapping tag “celebrity”.

The question I dread most is: “What’s your favourite charity?” You might as well ask: “What’s your favourite war zone?” To talk about charity in this way compartmentalises it, separates it from the day-to-day stuff of life. Yet what we are talking about is something fundamentally life-enhancing; engaging with people whose lives are often much more challenging than yours, gaining understanding of what they may have been through and sometimes actually being able to contribute. At various points in my life there have been many issues that I have learnt about and worked on. Whether it’s domestic violence, poverty, Aids, the environment or the plight of refugees, I firmly believe that all these causes are connected, connected to our darkness and connected to the human condition. But when we think about “causes” we tend to think about something that has no direct relevance to our day-to-day lives.

Are people really this stupid? Try googling Niagara Falls. Try educating yourself just a tiny bit. You cannot bring children as small as Zee or Shiloh on those boat rides. I suppose the twins could be hurled over the falls in tiny twin barrels. The Falls is strictly a trip for older kids not toddlers. Does anyone remember that toddler that fell over the edge of the Grand Canyon.? I do. I also remember all the criticism of the parents for even bringing their toddler to such a dangerous location.

It is very healthy for parents and grandparents to be able to spend time with children on an individual basis or in smaller groups. This is how they bond. Only spending time with all the children is not the best way to get to know them and love them.

I have noticed the varying outings of the Jolie Pitts over these years and they seem to be handling a large family idealy. Each child seems to be getting the individual attention they need as well as largely tailoring the outings to the age level and interests of the children. My bet is on these kids doing great in life. It’s obvious that Pitt and Jolie have formed this cohesive family unit encompassing not only their children but grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. They clearly both wanted this in their lives and it’s lovely that they gave this gift to each other.

Methinks Huvane has bought X an accolade she clearly doesn’t deserve. Although some of the recent recipients have been kind of dodgy - JHo, who has even fewer good films than X! - it’s clear that X doesn’t deserve to be in the company of past winners like Meryl Strep, Halle Berry, Renee Zellweger, Sandra Bullock, Glenn Close, Whoopi Goldberg, Jodie Foster, Goldie Hawn, Diane Keaton, Meg Ryan, Angelica Huston, Susan Sarandon…and even Putrid. Spent a long night on the movie set for Salt…upside, Angelina Jolie looked GREAT…down side it was cold and rainy…hurry up and wait.

Good Grief, you’d think Pitt’s goal was to look sexy for some of you. The man’s making a movie, not posing for glamor shots. I like the crazy, off kilter Pitt. He’s going to get down and dirty in this movie. I like that about him; he plays unexpected roles and those are the ones where his acting chops shines the most.. He has been described as a character actor with a leading man’s looks. He does have the ‘look’ when he cares to dress up, but this is NOT that type of movie. He looks suitable for the part and the era of the events.

I can’t believe some of you are Pitt fans; if you were you would understand this about him. He doesn’t give a fig about looking ’sexy or handsome’. As a matter of fact, he played that down for most of his career. I’m sure most of you remember his earlier gruffy bum looks. He had more facial hair than Moses. lol.

I’m not getting into this whole discussion again, but you’re wrong on the above statement. My comment that there wouldn’t be any Brad or Angie threads if he was on X’s payroll was just ONE of the reasons I disagreed with you guys.

I said back during the last incident over the tabloid covers and I said it again the other day that the main reason I believe Jared’s NOT on Huvane’s payroll is because a mutual friend told me he wasn’t. It’s someone I trust and who has no reason to lie to me about it. If I believed otherwise I certainly wouldn’t have been cutting him slack on this matter. And frankly I think Jared is too little a fish in the pond to even register with Huvane - let alone for him to try to buy Jared. Jared may be starting to make a name for himself and his blog, but Huvane’s more interested in guys like Perez who are getting MILLIONS of hits per day and who’s loathing of X is infamous. Jared is known as the “kinder and gentler” blogger who says nothing bad about anyone - not even Paris and Britney! Do any of you recall Gayle King’s interview of BJ and Mayer at the Oscars?? She asked them repeatedly if they were happy and then gushed “Girl, you know I’m happy for you”.

What kind of interviewing style is that?? I would have been so embarrassed if any “friend” of mine was making me out to be so loser-like while seemingly supporting me.

And you have to wonder of Gayle felt just a little sheepish about all that sychophantic behaviour when they broke up immediately after the awards.

Maybe Brad and Angelina are more open doing interviews to overseas press. I mean with people like Seacrest asking what they had for breakfast and the Gayle King type interviewers, who would want to say much of anything?

There’s something at work there. I strongly believe that Angie has completely ignored Oprah’s overtures and she’s smarting from that. Also at least 10 posters, said in one short section-not to go to JJ any-more. It was referred to a pig pen, I know 10 is not much, but it could be the start. Sorry - that sit is the pits —-Just checked out Pittwatch and it is a very new site - not visually appealing and not at a glance workabale. All the Pitt fans who want steralized information will enjoy that site but trust me there are very few of them. JJ’s is the site for excitement and unsensored blogging — well it is now that the loons are leaving like lemmings. Finally true fans and non fans can discuss all things Jolie Pitt without being banned and constantly flagged. Those with differring opinions are finally welcome. cmar - hi there! That’s my view of Oprah/Gayle too. They seem to be certified members of the champagne pity party. But IIRC she has made fools of them twice - once after some public pronouncement re VV, and then after again after the Oscars. Maybe they should stick to sending her hallmark cards in private!!

I don’t know what the interaction behind the scenes has been between Angelina and Oprah, but one thing is clear: Angelina does not need Oprah to endorse her movies, her charity work, or raise her profile.

As for Brad showing more support for Angelina - as others have said before “Actions speak louder than words”. One look at Angelina and you can see she totally loved up and radiating happiness. Look at Angelina at the Oscars - a trying situation if there was ever one - she was totally relaxed, gracious and glowing. That comes from knowing her relationship is solid. We her fans were probably more nervous than she was!

He doesn’t need to take out a weekly ad in the press saying “I love Angelina Jolie and my children and will never leave my family”. If he did I’d be worried. Didn’t Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere do something like that and look at them now.

If we were privy to the things he’s said to her and witnessed the things he does for her, we (the fans) would probably be saying “Awww..”. But those things are private, as they are meant to be.

Look, however, at how he’s always looking for her on the red carpet, the candid picture of him possessively peeling Mickey Rourke’s arm off her shoulders, the way he praises her as the centre of that which he holds dearest at this stage of his life - his family, the way he makes sure the family is always together. Most importantly look at the trust and love in her eyes when she looks at him. He is her rock solid support and it’s plain to see.

Wow It seems that some Angie fans are beginning to feel the same way. Angie deserves to have someone who will support her 100%. X and her PR team have spent the last 4+ years spreading lies and rumors about Angie while Angie continues to tell everyone how much Brad means to her and what a wonderful man he is. What does Brad do for the mother of his kids? Angie deserves better. X will always contiue to copy Angie and will always have a big PR team to work on her behalf. Angie has herself and (?) Brad.
