Natalie Portman: White House Correspondents Dinner
Natalie Portman dons an elegant Balenciaga halter dress (with interesting cut-outs) at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner on Saturday night (May 9) in Washington, D.C.
The 27-year-old actress was a guest of Newsweek. “My table is pretty good,” she says, “It’s Geithner, Gates and Valerie Jarrett. I’m looking forward to that.”
That would be Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Senior Presidential Adviser Valerie Jarrett.
This year, the annual dinner featured President Barack Obama and comedian Wanda Sykes.

She looks nice, but she’s looked better. I think the dress is at least a size too big. But her hair and makeup are lovely. She’s a pretty girl.
About the whole Sean Penn rumor fiasco: no one knows her life. I don’t know about the rest of you but when I walk into a room to find a group of ladies gossiping about another person based on something someone says someone else swears they saw (like the Yeti), it turns my stomach. Why the need to feel morally superior by casting a stone blindly at someone? Only TABLOIDS are printing that story with a straight face. I think most intelligent humans would draw their own conclusions from that considering how many hookups tabloids claim have taken place. How many pregnancies they’ve inaccurately called. Divorces. Etc, etc.
It’s sad to get b*tchy over something you’ve basically made up in your head. I like coming here to look at the pretty pictures too, but there’s a point where you have to act like an intelligent and mature adult.

Nothing wrong with a flat chest (better than fake breasts), but flaunting the flatness is not flattering especially during a dinner at the White House .
Speaking of this celebrity filled dinner… not really sure of the significance. These people don’t live in the real world, they could each give a fraction of their checking accounts and pay off our country’s debt.
The whole Harvard = Intelligence idea is highly exaggerated. Celebrities are accepted to Ivy League schools all the time. Sure, some may enter on merit and scholastic performance, but most are accepted on the basis of celebrity and $$$.

She is adorable she has the nack to make anything look good and no there is no exposure on the cleavage. The fact she was invited to the White house means a lot. As for those who named the want to be actress such as BILSON, MONTAGE or HILTON none of those woman have really much intelligence for anything but shopping and the first two GOD they are just pathedic to begin with.
She wasn’t involved with Penn and I’m sure the tabloids will try their best to sell you on the fact she would get involved with him…NOTTT the woman has greater common sense then that.
And someting else about the Penn rumor that bothers me: she’s never dated a guy more than a handful of years older than herself. Lukas Haas, Gael Garcia Bernal, the English guy Jude Law introduced her to, Devendra Banhart, and the Israeli actor. I’m pretty sure these guys have only been, at most, five years older than her.
Isn’t Sean Penn like twenty years older than her? He’s extremely different from anyone she’s been known to date.

Toni, I think what people are saying, and what you are rather conveniently ignoring, is that only some TABLOIDS have said they hooked up. And in fact, just as many tabloids have said the story is false. No pictures, no nothing other than an ‘unnamed’ ’source’. Now, if you want to take every rumor as fact without any evidence to support it, than simply admit so. if you have a genuinely good reason to think Natalie Portman and Sean Penn had hooked up while he was still involved with his wife then please enlighten the rest of us.
And I’m sorry with the Wright/Penn relationship is incredibly boring. That’s the other key reason that I hate how it’s highjacking threads about Portman.
Penn and Wright both filed for divorce in late 2007. They didn’t stop preceeding until spring of 2008. And honestly, I don’t know what anyone expects from that relationship. James Franco, Penn’s costar in Milk, said in an interview that Penn still texts Madonna. Penn dated Jewel during his separation from Wright in the late 90s, because OH YEAH, this is not the first time these two drama queens have done this little dance.
To be completely honest, I have no sympathy for women like Wright. She knows this guy sleeps around but she stays with him. And he’s done this througout their 11 years of marriage. And Sisterhood aside, what kind of women who wants a healthy and stable life, for herself and her children, puts up with that?
My sister’s boyfriend/fiancee (they were together 8 years when he cheated) cheated on her and she took him back. He did it again and she still took him back. He did it again a few months ago. And I told her that he’s only cheating on HER because she won’t dump his useless butt and find an intelligent good guy. Sorry, but cheaters cheat. Thus the name.

I agree with you Betty here on the Penn/Wright idea once a cheater always a cheater. A leapord won’t chance his strips not even for the opposite sex. And yes both tried divorce back over a year ago and b/4 it was finalized they stopped it and reconcilled. But, if Wright keeps taking him back shame on him the first time shame on her the second. I think now it possibly will go through. I don’t feel Natalie has any association beyond business if that.
And normally Natalie will date someone a year to 18 months but, I’m sure she has had longer relationships in her time but, this is just Fabricated BS started by some tabloids that had nothing better to write that week.
