Lucas and Peyton are “the” main characters… I dont know how everybody else would see that but i always watched it because of them. its kind of sad that they leaving, and i guess the next season will be the last when the two were leaving.

This is sad. I really dont see any point on bringing the show back if they’re leaving. I mean I’ll still watch it, but it wont be the same without them. We’ll just have to wait and see how it goes. I am happy that Julian is series regular though. I love him!

I’m totally cool with this. I think Lucas turned into a major whiner this season. The other story lines were way more interesting and the Brooke character should be the main character. She’s more dynamic and a better actor. I will miss some of the Peyton stuff, but I definitely won’t miss Lucas and his whining. I feel like they were phasing him out this season anyway. I’m super excited that Julian will become a regular. I love that character. I hope he and Brooke become the main focus next season.

They are my two favorite characters on the show. That really sucks that they wont be on next season but I’m sure they want to do something different.

Sooo happy. Chad has been saying for ages that he wants to leave… He’s gotten to be a real pain in the ass, and so has Lucas. I wouldn’t mind if Peyton stayed, but I won’t miss her either. I’m just happy Julian is a regular now!! Hopefully the show will focus more on Brooke, Haley, and Nathan (and Julian, but particularly the other 3). This season spent so much time on secondary characters, the core characters hardly had storylines. If the writers go back to the characters who have been on the show since the beginning (minus Lucas and Peyton, obviously), I think season 7 will do just fine… If not, I don’t think it will.

since the first episode.
i’m a regular watcher each and every week..
and i gotta admit the story lines for ALL the characters are just
boring and not as interesting as they were in highschool.
i think they made a mistake by doing the whole 5 years later crap.

Umm Lucas and Peyton AREN”T the main characters hell they aren’t even the main couple even though Mark tried his damnest to shove them down my throat thank God I like to think for myself. Well, they kind of got a happy end, sort of. We’ll see next week if Peyton survives. But I don’t think so. My guess is that Peyton dies, and Lucas follows his mum with the baby.

I think it’s bad for the show that Chad and Hilarie are leaving. According to a video posted on Hilarie’s blog she said she left out of free will (if I remember correctly).
I didn’t hear from Chad if he wanted to go. It just seems strange. He gave up his role on Gilmore Girls for OTH. Why leave? Maybe he really doesn’t want to play Lucas anymore, that’s fine by me. But if he was forced out, ie for money issues, that’s not ok. I mean he really is the main character if you look back on 6 years.
On the other side, a few shows survived losing their lead character, like Charmed lost Shannen Doherty (but she actually got replaced by another). Thinking about it, doesn’t Jullian look a little like Lucas?!
i thought Bethany was going too, you know, always saying she’s missing her real-life husband. Looks like to me she stays for another season, maybe getting a bit more money for staying?

Coming to an end, I hope the show doesn’t drown. It should have an appropriate ending for beeing on air for 7 (or maybe more years)! And who knows, maybe both of them guest star (or just Lucas if Peyton dies ;)

i love chads character, but hilarie’s is too needy since the beginning it was suppose to be chad and sophia together at least on the show but after thier divorce they cut them off completely and now the barely speak.

Hey if they want to leave let them! I admit I was sad at first, but their story is basically finished. I wish them both the best. I am happy about Austin though because I adore him. I wonder what the 2 new characters are going to be like. Oh well may they find other projects that they like. This show wasn’t only about them.

Ok so when the show premiered it was suppose to unite two brothers together, two brothers who did not get a long and were believed to never get along. But Lucas and Nathan beat the odds and both turned against the man (their father) who was not much of a father. And now you kick off one of the main stars from the show. Honestly this is going to canceled there is no point to bring back Peyton anyway; she in my opinion has had to much camera time and just honestly needs to be killed off. Chad Michael Murray brought new things to the television world and i am saddened by him getting the boot on one tree hill. The show in my opinion is dead, as soon as they broke up Lucas and Brooke and basically flipped the fans the bird and told them that they had no shot of getting back together ratings dropped, and i mean dropped. The show is failing miserably i would rather put myself through hours of watching the reruns then ever watching the new stuff by Marc. Its a disgrace in my opinion that neither party could compromise and either work out a smaller pay deal or find a way to ask the CW for more money so they could have back one of the two characters. I was at one time a huge Brucas supporter and in my head of fairytale’s they will live on. Sad to say it but One Tree Hill has lost another fan with this news.

i have been watching OTH since the start and the reason i start watching was because of Chad, it is going to suck with him gone but i feel that they still have some great stories left to tell with the rest of the cast and will be able to tie up the show with this season. I don’t think they FIRED Chad or Hilarie, the talks to bring them back just didn’t go in fave for them to come back.

I obsessed with Brucas and stopped watching after season 4. I couldn’t stand a minute of cheesy Leyton! Now that they both leaving the show, I will watch again to root for Brooke finding her happiness.

Right on Janine! I stopped watching after CMM and Sofia divorced because I knew there would be no more Brucas. Brooke and Lucas are my favorite couple on the show and it’s sickening how Mark tried to rewrite history as if seasons 2 and 3 never happened.

If we can’t have Brucas, I’m glad Leyton is leaving. I makes me wanted to watch the show again!!!

My two most hated people are leaving this show, so I for one, am thrilled. I hate them both so its all good. Plus, no more Leyton aka Pucas so thats definitely great.
The reason the writing has been so horrible for the past two seasons is because of all this LP shittt nonstop. First you have Peytons whiny asss chase Lucas all of season 5 and now season 6, all you see is them be corny and gag worthy every time the show comes on. So it’s a relief that they’re both gone.
OTH rankings have been bad since season 4 and only got worse and this LP crap that Mark wouldn’t let go of is mostly to blame.
Hopefully he’ll focus on more interesting couples this time around.

I agree, Julian is very hot and they made the right choice by keeping him as a regular. However, they should have just made season 6 the series finale if they don’t sign Chad and Hilarie. It would have been a perfect ending if Peyton gives birth and lives; Brooke hooks up with Julian; Sam comes back to live with Brooke; Hayley and Nathan has another kid. Of course I would love to see OTH grow to season 7 but without Lucas and Peyton, cmon, get real here, it’s OTH and Lucas is the main character!

Gossip Girl beat OTH in ratings last night. That hasn’t happened since early season 5. Plus, Lucas & Lindsey’s wedding brought in 3 million viewers while last night, OTH brought in 2.2 million, which is hardly anything. Goes to show that many people don’t give a sh*t about LP. Its kind of sad seeing as how the promos for this weeks episode were all about the LP wedding nonstop and yet it only still brought in a mere 2.2 million viewers. I guess not many people wanted to watch.lol
I know A LOT of people who stopped watching OTH after LP got together. I’m not saying they were the only reason why ratings began to plummet, but they were one of the reasons seeing as how the show lost a huge chunk of the Brucas fan base who were turned off when LP got together.
Plus, the only reason OTH was almost not renewed during season 3 was because the show used to be on the WB until UPN and the WB combined to make the CW. A lot of shows were axed then. But OTH was among the ones that survived.
But regardless, I too think that the show should be canceled. The show is about the core five and without two of the five gone, it might not do so good. Even though I dislike Lucas and Peyton and am happy they’re gone, they should just end the show all together. The show won’t be the same without the core five. Whether it was Brooke and Haley leaving, or Nathan and Peyton leaving…..any two of the five missing in action won’t do well.

I despise them both. Good riddance.

Len- I think it’s more than Lucas/Lindsey wedding that had to do with OTH ratings that time. It was OTH 100 epi. where it got special promotion. IMO I don’t think many cared for LL’s wedding because we knew that was a sham. Honestly you could see where that storyline was going and that storyline was dragged out soooo much due to Mark’s obsession with special guest. Also, Joie stated that she wanted to start a family and was not certain about coming back for a s7 even though I could not blame her afterall she gets nothing to work with even the kid who plays jamie gets more time then her ..ANYWAYS Need I remind you people MONEY TALKS, and Just like the network is trying to make it out that CH are highly priced….FAIL. The network has been trying to avoid this subject forever and the way they have handled this situation was unprofessional. I am happy that CH made vids. spoke there minds. what? this can’t be..ANLGSP you are right! one tree hill won’t be the same without chad and hilarie, they are not my fave pair on ONE TREE HILL…but it won’t be the same without them…I can’t believe this, for some of you who think I am being melodramatic well I am…haha…ONE TREE HILL is my fave American TV show…and it won;t be right without lucas and peyton…IT WON’T wow…I never wanted the show to end…if it would end…then that’s it, but watching the TV SHOW without them will be alot different…it would be harder to accept that the tv show is still there but without chad and hilarie.

I’ll be watching this show until it will over, BUT I was and I will be always a NH fan. I hate these two last seasons (5,6) because ALL was about LP. Is not fair, If CMM wants to have more money, hey baby.. is just your problem. Your co-stars don’t have the money that you have, so…you want to be axed of OTH.

PS: If Haley’s back to music? :). Naley need a big storyline now. Their storyline on 5th season, was terrible but the James’s acting, was really good. I mean… even Sam have more storyline that NH! Is nooooooooooot fair. James & Joy are a good actors too.

Well, ever since Brooke and Lucas didn’t end up together, I didn’t really care much for Chad, so I dont care that he’s leaving, but I’m kinda sad that hil is leavin. Which is ironic, because I hated her before, but I started liking her this season. But, yay for julian! I’m super glad brooke and haley stayed though, if they left, I would never watch the show again.

I cant believe they are axing the 2 most popular characters! The core 5 are no more and bringing in 2 new ones to replace them wont work!!! Im glad Julian is staying, but it seems to me that Hilarie got robbed, just because CMM didnt want to come back! As a Leyton fan, I’ve been waiting for the weddind and the baby so long…And now ithat’s almost a dream come true, it’s already done because they’re leaving. That’s a rude way to thank the fans who have supported the shos since the pilot, included myself.
We got to see Jamie growing up, but nothing will be told about Leyton’s baby, there were a lot of storylines to tell!

Well, as much as I love OTH, with Lucas/ Chad and Peyton/Hilarie leaving, I WON’T BE WATCHING NEXT SEASON. Damn, it was a really good show, but the CW has decided to screw

Believe it or not, many OTH fans are not USA residents therefore do no have the CW on cable. And the USA fans also watch it online. It is more convinent. One Tree Hill’s ratings in overall (incluing internet ratings and iTunes ranking) are higher than Gossip Girl’s ratings. The reason GG gets more media attention and critical acclaim than OTH is because GG is set in New York and is shot in media circuits. While OTH is shot in Wilmington and the cast of OTH barely makes any public appearances in events to promote themselves and the series, Sophia is doing all the promotion while the rest of the cast aren’t bothered to leave their homes in Wilmington and to come to L.A. and do press interviews, public appearances etc. While the GG cast are everywhere at every premiere, red carpet event and fashion show. The OTH cast needs to put in more effort towards promotion. OTH isn’t on top right now because of the lack of promotion. Fans forget about it.

That way the viewers will still get to enjoy the two main characters without those characters having to be in every single episode. If they pay them the higher salary and then just cut their number of episodes down a little bit then they will still end up paying them the same total amount as this season

I’ve been a LONG time fan of One Tree Hill and Im sad to see them go because they were a huge part of the show the past 6 seasons.. but it does kind of seem like they were faded out of this season. Chad has also expressed his feelings on wanting to leave the show because he’s ready for something else.. as Hilarie has wanted to do for awhile. Im also kind of glad that Julian is going to be a regular because then maybe that’ll help work out some of Brooke’s issues. But Im also hoping that they focus a little more on Nathan, Haley, and Jamie.. they really haven’t been focused on the past 2 seasons.. Im an avid fan so Im still going to watch it even though Lucas and Peyton are gone. And Im sure that when they announce the series finale.. Lucas and Peyton may just have a guest spot in it.

The show will be fine without them. If anyone’s been watching this season, it’s clear to see that Chad and Hilarie’s characters are no longer the main ones like they were in season one. This past season it seemed that Sophia’s character became the main one, she’s gotten a lot of screen time and heavier storylines than the others. I think if Sophia were leaving, OTH would lose a lot more viewers. The creator even said she’s the one he got the most fan mail for!
I think Chad and Hilarie’s departure will be sad, but it won’t ruin the show. And if Chad wasn’t willing to stay because he didn’t get the raise he wanted in this tough economy, then goodbye! Austin Nichols will do a fantastic job replacing him. I just feel sorry for Hilarie having to go because of him.

Joy should start a blog and put vids up everyday of her rehearsing and cruising around with Michael and her music partner. LOL I mean she would get want to promote her company, HB is a loser.

Henna- CH doesn’t owe anybody anything. As far as I can tell they did RESPECT what OTH had to offer them during those 6 years they were with this crew. They fufilled there 6 years contracts. What more can you ask of them?! They didn’t quit the show during there contracts, they attended events that they were suppose to attend. Heck they gave away money and help put together charity events for OTH. Honestly how is that not humble…they do not need to dedicate there lives to this show just because they got renewed for another season and new contracts had to be drawn up. So what if they want to branch out or move on with there lives? God forbid they do anything without the hate of OTH fans who gave them 6 years of there lives, and help make the show along with other cast members. No one is forcing us to watch OTH next season and no one has to watch anything CH do it’s not like it’s going to hurt there feelings. OTH will old news once this is over with, and long forgotten.

It’s sad,yes.But why don’t they just stop the show,it’s getting boring and very long…..good luck for both of them to their careers after OTH!

I feel sorry for Hilarie, she is just a sidenote in this whole thing. CMM has wanted to leave for sometime now and he finally has his out, but it doesn’t come without a price. Since Mark Schwan cannot stand the fact that his precious couple, Leyton,would not be together if this happened he and the did everything to make sure if Chad left so did Hilarie. Just look at any interviews from Hilarie and you can totally tell she is reluctant about this decision. She says its a mutual decision and had nothing to do with money, I agree with the latter but I highly doubt it was a mutual decision especially after the video she posted on her blog. I’ll miss Hilarie not so much the douche bag that Chad has become.

I will say this Hilarie is way too involved with peeps. She must read the boards every day. She is always trying to cover her ass. Speak volumes more than her PR bs.

I am happy. I think Chad will only bug me a little but he has been being annoying lately. I am soo glad Hilarie is leaving. She is a terrible actress. I dont no what happened to her i really like her in like the first and second season then its like she forgot how to act, WTF? Everytime they showed her on monday nights episode i thought she was horrible and whiny. I just couldnt wait for them to show Sophia( Brooke) who is the best part of the show now! I love her. Over all i am glad to see her go and if taking Chad with her has to come with it, it doesnt bug me one bit. I think the 7th season will be fine, hes not really the main character anymore. His storyline when shown is so cheesy and stupid exspecially since Hilarie is apart of it!

Chad needs more money ’cause he needs to support that anorexic chick of his, i think he should’ve stayed on OTH…some money is better than no money! Wonder how long “Cheapenzie” will stay with him when he goes broke?

well it must be uncomfortable working with your ex wife who you cheated on with skunk hilton..and it must be pathetic for the new wife that she has a reminder of how her hubby will mess up in a couple fo months..once an **** always will be…she is too young to know what she got herself into…

brooke and lucas are the couple viewers want to see.. i wish the real actors could put their awkwardness aside and be together for the show.. lucas and peyton SUCK!!! BOOOORRRINNGGG!!! sorry they are…

and i miss old brooke.. i still like her but come on, a mom and fashion designer the things that made brooke awesome are slowly withering away.. i agree might as well end the show.

I THINK WHAT THEY DID WAS FOR THE BEST. It’s over, they left, let’s all move on. Nobody but them will ever know the truth, nor will we ever hear the truth or anything coming out of THAT networks mouth..I for one, am glad Hilarie spoke up. I knew as a fan of her’s that the reason she left was NOT for the sake of her paycheck, but you know the haters already have there mind set…typical I say that there are so many one-minded people…it’s to be expected especially in the OTH Fandom.. Glad they are leaving this bullshit of a network behind, and all the ungrateful people who can only see the negative in all the six years they have contribute to this show.
As for Chad ,there’s really no point in him telling us this or that because once he does it’s all shot to hell, and he is being accused of lying. Chad can never catch a break with anyone.God forbid he opens his mouth and it gets all turned around and is crusified for it, so I am glad he is keeping his mouth shut. His haters will always believe what they want, which is the worst, and they hope he fails…. Which I believe he won’t. As a fan I don’t really need him to justify his decision. He thought leaving the show was for the best for him and that’s enough for me. Neither Chad or Hil owe us any explanation on the decisions they make when it comes to there lives and careers. Hil said in an interview that the exit from the show wasn’t because of money. She said that it was a long hard decision. And in the end they came up with this. There were reports that Chad wanted to settle in California with his fiance a few months back and he wasn’t really gonna budge and since Leyton was in full force I guess Hil decided to let the writers do what they had to do. But of course that is just a maybe situation. IDK I am just sad I wish they would have made it a two hour series finale this season and end it while it’s still popular.

Hil is street smart and she is looking for the sympathy vote. I don’t buy it at all.
