Vanessa Hudgens: I Can Feel Your Halo
Vanessa Hudgens (in Black Halo) joins costars Alyson Michalka and Gaelan Connell at the Bandslam event at LA’s Grammy Museum on Friday (May 15).

Vanessa has talked about her role in the film, saying, “My character is a lot more darker, more introverted [than Gabriella in High School Musical]. She’s very deadpan throughout the whole thing. [She spells her name] S-A-5-M and the 5 is silent. She’s cool like that, it’s how she rolls.”
Bandslam opens in theaters everywhere on Friday, August 14.

She takes interviews with a very charismatic attitude, so when she said “She’s dark- cool like that- that’s how she rolls”, she didn’t say it to be taken so literal. I’m glad she is back on the regular Jared sight. I thought it was strange that Joe Jonas was and she and other actors weren’t. She has yet to prove herself (and i don’t think she will with Bandslam). But she has potential. Within the next couple of years i see her breaking out into more serious roles. Maybe the patient in a mental ward for Zack Synder’s Suckerpunch? That’s not your average teen role.
@Ann: And you know what? For some god-forsaken reason she’ll be around so get use to it, and I’ll enjoy responding to your comments, you are a fun kinda person.

Van looks exquisitely beautiful though I’m not digging her boots. She’s at a place in her style, though where she can pull anything off and does not need to dress to impress anymore. Her trademark is being comfortable with herself.
Cannot wait to see Bandslam and get the soundtrack. The DVD will tide us over till Beastly next July, then Sucker Punch, then the other projects she’s still in talks for. It’s a good time to be a Van fan, there’s nothing like seeing a young actress get the opportunities she hoped for and seeing her grow with her roles. Happy days!

Vanessa dresse’s to suit herself and what she feels comfortable in, it might not be to everyone’s taste but it’s not everyone’s taste that she has to dress for it’s herself and she does that with confidence so good for her.

Why do people insist on gazing on what they’ll never achieve, the reality of which gives them serious pain?!!!
Why do they choose to punish themselves this way, or is it some kind of therapy? Do they really feel better when they release vitriol that falls on no one but themselves?

It’s funny how everyone wants her to go down and are constantly wanting her to fail, but she never does. She’s 20 now and can start beginning to do more serious roles unlike before. I don’t understand why everyone is always doubting Vanessa on her acting skills, I reallize HSM is what made her so popular, but she did have OTHER roles before it (Thunderbirds…Thirteen..etc). I agree though, I dont’ really think Bandslam is going to help her “break free” (love the HSM pun? haha) from previous character b/c they are pretty similar in the sense of being in a high school setting and singing. But I feel as though in a couple of years, Vanessa is gonna prove everyone wrong with her acting. I could be wrong, but I just feel like this role isn’t going to help much, but her roles in “Beastly”, “Suckerpunch” and hopefully “Dead@17″ will push her out of her Disney Mold completely!
