The 43-year-old actress tells Extra, “My girlfriend and I got engaged last month. We’re hoping to do it in New York. We’re not going to wait forever, but we’re hoping it’s just around the corner…Sometime I think before the end of next summer, but we don’t have a date.”

“just saying,”
Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God’s law. I have learned a great deal from you, and I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind him that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate. I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the specific laws and how to best follow them.
When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev. 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. How should I deal with this?
I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as it suggests in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev. 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
Lev. 25:44 states that I may buy slaves from the nations that are around us. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans but not Canadians. Can you clarify?
I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?
A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination (Lev. 10:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don’t agree. Can you settle this?
Lev. 20:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear prescription glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?
I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God’s word is eternal and unchanging.
wentsworthit - Bravo!
- My point exactly - I don’t understand why no one on the opposition of gay marriage hasn’t addressed such arguments. When they state something - I respond specificly to their point. All I keep hearing from them is gay marriage is wrong, gay marriage is wrong - the bible says so etc.
(But I wouldn’t be surprised if a bunch of people responded seriously to your questions :P)
Good lord that **** is joining with some sort of he-thing.
See what I mean?
@daisy:
My law degree is from one of the top ten law schools in the nation, so I assure you that I am incapable of being intellectually threatend by one who communicates in the shrill, emotional manner which you evidence.
I cited the LAW. We have NO Constitutional right to same sex marrriage in this nation. The citizens of the individual states are therefore free to pass such legislation if they so choose. To date, both CA and NY have REFUSED to do so. American voters are free to vote in WHATEVER manner they wish. They need not answer to you or anyone else as to WHY they choose to vote as they do.
And I called you a bully because you called those who disagree with you on religious grounds “freaks.” That was juvenile, and certainly not the best tactic to win converts to your side. Now, if you are intellectually capable, deal with the LEGAL position I have set forth, or are you only able to continue on your silly name-calling rant? By the way, do you also call OBAMA a “freak,” since he has unequivocally stated that he believes marriage should be between a “man and a woman?” Or are you the typical HYPOCRITICAL liberal we have all learned to know and “love?”.
Your turn, Dear.
HI,
SO ANOTHER GAY HOLLYWOOD COUPLE!
WHEN ARE THESE PEOPLE GOING TO REALIZE THAT IS NOT NORMAL!
IF IT WERE THE NORM THEN EVERYBODY WOULD BE DOING IT!
HENCE THE NORM IN NORMAL!
@80
Umm, if you read my post properly, I think you’ll find that I acknowledged my name-calling as immature and inappropriate. That has been the only time which I have been ‘emotional’. As I have argued previously, the conclusions I have made have been reached through an examination of both sides of the argument. It might surprise you to know that contrary to your beliefs, I DO undesrtand and appreciate the opposing view point. What I don’t understand is why no one has responded to my questions - if I am mistaken - tell me how? Stop reiterating the same point over and over. Moreover, the reason I called city-diva a ‘freak’ (which I sincerely regret) is because she demonstrated no sense of independent thought - ‘I believe this because the Bible says so…’ - if you reject homosexuality on the basis of biological evidence, then fair dos, but don’t justify your prejudices by hiding behind the Bible. I don’t know Obama’s motivations/ reasons for opposing gay marriage but if he were to use the same reasoning as city diva, then yes, I would wholeheratedly disagree with him!
Also, I don’t understand why you’re talking about legalities - I never said anything about people not being allowed to believe certain things. Yes, people are entitled to freedom of speech, hence why I am voicing my opinion. Moreover, if anyone is bullying, it is you. Considering that you are superior to me in age, I would expect you to attempt to educate me/ explain to me your point of view, instead of putting me down and calling me names. If anything, anyone reading this post will be able to clearly see that you are the one who is bullying and aggressive in their manner and not me. In fact, whilst you claim that my language is ’shrill’ and ‘emotional’, I would argue that your excessive use of capitals and name-calling actually reveals such descriptions to be true of yourself. Now I’ve readily admitted my mistakes and am slightly ashamed at my name-calling (which to be clear, happened once!) - so why can’t you? Also - this is the second time I’ve admitted my mistake and you have failed to acknowledge it! If you’ve attended one of the top 10 law schools in the nation, your arguments/ powers of evaluation to not do your education justice!
Also, in terms of democracy, yes, people have the right to vote how they want but I would like to remind everyone that the voice of the majority is not neccessarily the right one and that in extreme cases, the following of Bentham’s prinicple ‘greatest good for the greatest number’ can often lead to the tyranny of the masses over the minority. So yes, people are entitled to democracy but should they be allowed to excercise that democracy in a way which directly impedes upon the happiness of others? Gay marriage does not endanger the lives of other citizens so what’s the big deal. I don’t like beef but eating it aint gonna kill me. And you know what, the irony of it all is that I want to marry a man, be a housewife and have the white-picket fence - I’m as archaic as they come :) I love the idea of being married to a strong, virile man (yes, that sounded ridiculous, please don’t laugh) - What I can’t understand is why 2 worlds cannot co-exist if one does not endanger the other?
Keep it going!
@daisy:
That´s a really sensible and intellingent comment. Thank you very much.
@just saying:
Which is why we why shouldn’t create public policy based on social “norms”… lest this entire country resemble the American Psychology Association, which revised their judgment of homosexuality as a mental illness based on nothing but pressure not to be perceived as hostile to homosexuals and others that the politically correct judge to be a protected class.
OMFG
Cynthia is attractive….WTF is she doing with that troll?
Come on! There has to be better looking dykes than -that- out there.
Congratulations,it’s such an amazing news.
All the happiness possible to the couple.
My question is, if they are so much in love and been together for six years, why didn’t they get married in California when it was legal?????
They new it was going to be legalized. They knew there was a good chance it was going to be voted out. Why didn’t they take the opportunity when it was handed to them???
Do you think lesbian partners are “afraid of commitment” also?
You know the type, “yea babe I’ll live with you and do all the stuff “married” folks do, but I need my freedom right now.”
Do lesbians fall for that baloney as easily as straight women, and was Christine just shacking up with Cynthia, waiting for some younger, hotter chick to come along?
@Jenny: What do you mean?
Face it! t’s just a sick twisted world we live in
Does anyone know how old Christine’s children are?
Wait, I’m confused. Is Cynthia Nixon trying to marry that kid “BOB” (Charlie Stewart) from the Suite Life of Zack and Cody? Eww, that’s gross and even illegal. Cynthia, leave the ugly little boys alone!
Come on Daisy. Give it a rest. Clearly, your “strongly-put” views are not going to “convert” anyone. Everyone is entitled to their own belief system. You attacking them for their personal beliefs only makes you less and less credible. If you’re so obsessed with gay rights, why don’t you get off your ass and go protest somewhere. I don’t care where, just leave everyone else alone. This is really getting ridiculous.
Congrats! I hope they’re happy.
