OlderEvangeline Lilly: Angelina Jolie’s An Ice Queen
Lost star Evangeline Lilly takes the June 2009 cover of Women’s Health.
When asked which Hollywood A-lister she admires, Evangeline chose Angelina Jolie. She shared, “No one knows that woman; she’s a complete ice queen, which is perfect. Why should she be any more? She doesn’t owe us anything.”
She added, “[The Lost producers] have seen that I haven’t picked up on the opportunity to become a big movie star. It frustrates [them] that they’ve given me this chance to become the next Angelina… Sure, I’d love to be her, but just the humanitarian side.”
Evangeline also didn’t divulge any information on the status of her relationship with former costar Dominic Monaghan “If I were to tell you that Sandra Miggum and Henry Pickett are dating, would you ever care? They’re completely fictional, so you don’t know them,” she says. “Well, people don’t know us. So why should they care?”

I cannot comment on Evangeline’s acting ability or potential, but I will say this, she needs to broaden her vocabulary. Calling someone “a complete ice queen” is not a compliment. To most people, an ice queen is someone who is cold, unemotional and uncaring, which Angelina is not (more reserved that’s all). Words akin to “cool, calm and collected” would have been more appropriate.
Her pose is somehow weird.
I previously made a judgemental comment about Evangeline Lily when I heard some of the comments, but now that I’ve heard more of what she said in context….I understand what she is trying to say. That said, she has a VERY POOR WAY OF WORDING THINGS!…
…the ‘ice queen’ reference pertains to how Angelina is BOLD, and HONEST, and NO INTIMIDATED by the Hollywood phonies who try to ride her coat-tails in magazine interviews, or while reporting about her on E!, yet, as someone stated above, Angie is fiercely protective of her kids and relationship with Brad.
AT THE END OF THE DAY, IT’S JUST ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF SOMEONE WORSPHIPPING ANGELINA FROM AFAR, WHILE ANGELINA SIMPLY IGNORES EVERYONE AND CARRIES ON WITH CARING FOR HER KIDS & DOING HUMANITARIAN WORK AS WELL AS ACTING.

I think I understand what she was trying to say. Jolie is an ice queen when it comes to protecting herself and her family. She gives no thought to anyone who say vile things about her. She doesn’t give a second glance to tabloids or gossip blogs. She refuses to apologize for loving her partner and the life they have together. But she could have worded it with a better phrase.

I agree with you. This time, Evangeline Lilly just used the wrong words or phrase in expressing her admiration for Angelina. don’t think it’s a backhanded compliment. I understand what she’s trying to say. That AJ is different from the rest as she doesn’t care what people think about her as long as she lives her life.

Besides, if I remember it right, I read in the past interviews of Evangeline that she truly admire AJ a lot. For instance, she said about her in the past,

I reread Evangalista’s comments and i feel its pretty obvious she is giving Angie a compliment. Why do people see or read her article and see any nastiness?????

Angie already said in one of her last articles which is right here at JJs that people really know only about..Was it 5 or 10% of the real her.
Sorry i went blank on the 5 or 10% but someone here will remember.
Still, that is not much and that is all she wants us to know.
It’s Angies Honesty about her life issues even the dark side she refers to that makes us feel like we know quite abit about her.
Personally i think she would be a lot of fun once you get her going. Mix that with a big loving heart Plus beautiful face and you got yourself a queen bee who happens to be the most gorgeous woman on this earth. Oh Lily Evangalista i too would choose AJ as the most admired..What the heck you are correct the woman has it all.
Angie is what other women wish to be and some are not so nice about the fact they have no chance in hell of becoming an Angie lookalike so they say mean stuff out of jealousy. Thats old news and JP Fans are use to the jealous hens who continue to come to Angies thread to talk nasty about her.

If you want total anonymity and hate your life as an actress, doing a magazine cover story isn’t the best idea. She really shouldn’t give interviews because it only makes her like a tool.
Also, you don’t have to be Angelina Jolie to be charitable. People do charity work every day–many without the financial resources of Jolie or Lilly so their sacrifices are even greater. If Nicole…er…Evangeline wants to be charitable, just do it and don’t name drop to get more attention for yourself while you keep complaining about how you don’t want attention.

Could have predicted the sh*tstorm this comment, taken out of context, would produce on this site. Angelina is in no way a warm and fuzzy person. She doesn’t come off that way and doesn’t try to. Hence the ice queen comment. She’s as much an ice queen as Nicole Kidman or Victoria Beckham. Please.

EL’S interviews are laughable.
First she points out that people shouldn’t be concerned with celebrities’ personal lives, because they don’t “know them”, then she one sentence later, she says she admires AJ because “no one knows that woman” she is a “complete ice queen”. As far as I can tell, AJ has always been very direct and upfront about herself, even if it causes her a bit of bad publicity. So, hypocritical, much, EL?
Second, AJ is probably sitting on her pool side lounger right now asking Brad, “who the f*ck is Evangeline Lilly?”
Evangeline, if you don’t like fame why did you just agree to become the spokesperson for L’Oreal/Paris and have your lovely pictures smattering every fashion magazine on the planet? Oh, right, you want the money, but not the annoying cr@p that goes with it.

Someone who’s an “Ice Queen” is basically a stone cold person who doesn’t show any emotion and wants people to wonder about them. I like Angie but it’s kinda true.. she always has this “face” on ;p

This little tv girl is a legend in her own mind. There is only one Angelina Jolie. Her compassion for refugees,her acting chops( an academy award winner), her brains (girlfriend flies her own plane and is on the US foreign relations council),her pedigree (daughter of Jon Voight,another oscar award winner), her brutal honesty, her beauty,etc. are so far superior to this television child that i find it amazing that she had the audacity to even suggest that she could be the next Angelina Jolie. Give me a break! And one more thing. Angelina’s partner knows who she is, her children know who she is, her brother knows who she is, the refugees that she has supported over the years know who she is, the United Nations has known who she is for over seven years. She doesn’t just write checks,she puts her life on the line every time she flies to Iraq or Afghanistan or Pakistan or Rowanda or Haiti.The real person no one knows is this television child because she’s done nothing of any meaning.
She is amazing. Natural and SO beautiful. Love the pic.
