OlderGerard Butler Likes Long Walks On The Beach
Gerard Butler chats it up with some friends and then goes for a walk on the beach in Malibu on Monday (May 25).
The 39-year-old Scottish actor can be seen this summer in the romantic comedy The Ugly Truth, which will premiere on July 24. The official website’s synopsis: “The battle of the sexes heats up in Columbia Pictures’ comedy The Ugly Truth. Abby Richter (Katherine Heigl) is a romantically challenged morning show producer whose search for Mr. Perfect has left her hopelessly single. She’s in for a rude awakening when her bosses team her with Mike Chadway (Butler), a hardcore TV personality who promises to spill the ugly truth on what makes men and women tick.
Earlier this month, Gerard was charged with misdemeanor battery. His attorney, Blair Berk, said he is not required to and will not appear in court on the charge.

#34, you are so right! The tabloids are all liars unless they say he threw himself in front of a bus to save a baby. Then it’s all true. When they reported he was hot for Priyanka, beating up photographers or that he’s out whoring all the time, THEN it’s lies and they’re all scum who deserve to be punched in the mouth. If he’s giving money to charity, probably in an amount that is less than he pays for one night at a hotel, then of course the media isn’t making it up and they’re oh so sweet to report what a saint he is.
Make up your minds.
Jared is smart enough to post articles on Gerry because look how many comments they get vs. other celebs mentioned here. For a C lister, he gets a lot of clicks on this site. Jared is making money off reporting what you love and what you hate. Smart man!
I don’t know how you folks look when walking in the sun on the beach, but he looks appropriate to me, and if a bit sweaty, well DUH — it’s in the sun, a walk, on the beach. HELLOOOOO!!!

I think the point was that there seems to be an increase of coverage of him on JJ the past 6 months. He is not an A-List celebrity that is constantly covered by the paps. But yet he is covered here continuously. There seems to be a JJ / Butler lovefest going on.

Funny thing is that that most of posts (and probably the clicks on these threads) seem to be made by a handful of posters who use the same name to post comments on him under every thread about him.

But, I do believe there is some sort of *relationship* with JJ. JJ knows that everytime there is a Butler pic posted…there are hundreds of comments/feedback which I’m sure contributes to the cause. He seems to be popular on this board for some reason.
Other than that….JJ, KEEP THE PICS COMING!! lol…I adore Butler and support every pic of him walking on the beach, visiting peeps in India & hell, even shopping for shoes…whatever he does is just fine with me! I just wish I was there with him, lol! As long as he continues to look healthy and happy, I’m happy for him. I’m sure the biz can get tough at times.

pafan - the point is that it when people use a specific name to post (as opposed to anonymous or something else) you can determine that they are repeat posters and not different people. The subject was regarding marketing - and how JJ posts articles to get a lot of comments and clicks on his site. You have completely missed that point and taken offense.
And yes, everyone knows you are a fan — one that obsesses about every detail about this man’s life and posts about it, including his clothes. Good for you and I’m sure everyone is thrilled for you that you’re not ashamed about it. Geez, lighten up.

Looks like a nice stroll along the beach on a pleasant sunny day. Not sure of the distance from LA to Maibu or why he’s there but that place is supposed to be beautiful so good for him to spend a day at the shoreline with his good friend.
Just now reading about the visit to the kids. Man, that had to be hard on him! Don’t read too much about it here, it was in the Indian press so why be so negative about it all? It’s what he wanted to do. Big softie through and through.

A Highlander is a person who was born and bred in the Highlands itself…Did you know that William Wallace was a lowlander…Yes..the movie is rubbish…at least that is what the Scots told me when I visted Scotland several times…

I think the word you are looking for is Glaswegian - a person from Glasgow, though he was actually born and raised in Paisley, a “suburb” of Glasgow. But he is still considered Glaswegian. And being from Glasgow/Paisley, that makes him a Lowlander, as that geographical location is in the Lowlands of Scotland. His mother lives now in the “lower” Highlands, or South Highland, near Balquhidder, where RobRoy McGregor is buried. Gerry spoke of this on Leno during one of his appearances.
