Cate Blanchett: World Business Summit Sensible
Cate Blanchett urges global business leaders to limit carbon emissions to help save the planet at the “World Business Summit on Climate Change Conference” in Copenhagen, Denmark on Tuesday (May 26).
Leaders added momentum to prospects for a new U.N. climate treaty by agreeing Tuesday that the world must cut greenhouse gas emissions in half by mid-century by setting specific limits on carbon. Unfortunately, government officials reported little progress in setting such limits.

Love her, just saw Benjamin Button and made me wonder why more was not made of Cate’s performance in it when it was released, she never disapoints. She has great chemistry with Brad, that’s for sure, you can tell they like each other. She’s a smart gal, support and knows about world issues, has a young family, is a working actress, no wonder she connects with Brad and Angelina, they all live their lives in similar ways.

OMG, I just LOVE her! My favorite actress and possibly the greatest of all time. Cate the Great! She is so beautiful, intelligent and such a class act with an unmatched sophistication, hardly anyone rivals her onscreen and off.

it’s a great job for a big celebrity to use his fame to direct the public awareness to such important issues , rather than s candles and stupid stories about stupid lives.. Kate Blanchett is a symbol of the celebrity participating in the people problems… Good Job Kate…
I think she’s hot (even in these awkward pix). Great actress too and I agree with #14 Preen, I love that she is supporting a worthy cause. I just hope that those business types will actually take heed and make something happen!

Such an amazing actress, one of the best I’ve seen ever onscreen. I just finished watching Benjamin Button and she floored me. Such grace, depth and nuance to that character. I don’t think people realize what it takes to age a character from birth to death but Blanchett does it brilliantly. A marvel.
Why wasn’t she nominated? I thought she had a better performance than Jolie, Winslet & Streep combined. As good as Cate was though, I surprisingly thought Anne Hathaway gave the strongest and most impressive performance this year. She really deserved that Oscar!
