Hugh Jackman & Daniel Craig To Hit Broadway Together in ‘A Steady Rain’

Wolverine hunk Hugh Jackman and James Bond stud Daniel Craig will be starring in a new play on Broadway this fall, according to The Post.

The drama, A Steady Rain by Keith Huff, is about two Chicago cops whose lifelong friendship is put to the test when they become involved in a domestic dispute in a poor neighborhood.

This will be Craig’s New York stage debut. In 2004, Hugh won a Tony Award for his role as Peter Allen in the musical The Boy From Oz.

WILL YOU BUY tickets to see two of Hollywood’s hottest hunks on Broadway?

Now there is a job for Satsmonkey-the 2 cops can kick her a**-but only if they can find the right end!

smart to 50 @ 05/27/2009 at 4:16 pm

according to poster 42 saying:
“This play does not have singing in but some dramatic fight and a death.”
Hey, so that means something else?? I see fighter bloody Brad Pitt !
Kill kill kill!

It sounds like a Bond fan who has been kicked in the head a few times!!

re : the play @ 05/27/2009 at 4:19 pm

Well as long as Hugh leaves his tights/glitter at home and Daniel manages to get back the “edge/angst” he had many years ago (that the Bond films have dulled), re: “A Number” (2002) we should be in for a treat.
I for one will get a ticket.

oh blimey @ 05/27/2009 at 4:21 pm

I hope the promotion for this play won’t turn into a Jackman/Craig Competition Fest but can see it happening as to “who has the better body never mind the play.”

Let’s hope the Broadway promotion from Babs and Co is a little more tasteful.

hehe you talk about YOU again? you need kick not only head but also ass, nose, broke bones, kick teeth, hit eyes, tear hair!

What a great default picture of the two!

great decision @ 05/27/2009 at 4:28 pm

I think it’s a great decision from Daniel to do this.
Back to basics, back to the one pure art form - theatre.

I think with all the Bond stuff and back to back other films and with them not being so good, he might get back in touch with how he started and with skills that hopefully are dormant and not lost in him.

Remember Babs is the one who makes the Bond films-with these 2 she will have to try very hard to mess it up. Like a lot of Broadway plays if there is a big name starring then it really doesn’t matter if it is good or bad. Unfortunately Broadway has been hurting financially (like everyone else) and putting big celebs in mediocre plays is the only way to make money.

I don’t think it is the art form that will inspire him; I think competing with Hugh Jackman will make anyone rise to the occasion.

Well lets hope Daniel doesn’t “rise” to much. He might knock the table over.

Ex on Broadway @ 05/27/2009 at 4:37 pm

It should be interesting-Sienna Miller-Daniel Craig’s ex is going to be on Broadway in October. I wonder if he will go to see her play? I wonder if she will go see his???

Sienna never was his “ex” if anything she was a two/three night romp when he was seeing Satsuki (when she was still based in L.A.) and that has never been proved.
Oddly enough though, Satsuki did move in with him in London shortly thereafter.

I’m sorry….ewwwww….Jackman’s body looks weird. Craig’s face does nothing for me. Not blown away by this at all.

Yeah, Hugh sucked as Wolverine.

Once a cheater always a cheater. From what I have seen of DC’s present gf she is a real dog who is very overexposed for doing nothing. Maybe he should hook up with his ex as she is much better looking.

Agree-like everything else Broadway has certainly become “commercialized”. Using big names has been the only way theaters can draw crowds to plays. The only other method that has been successful has been to remake movies into plays (ie Legally Blond, Shrek). I know this is exciting to see two beefcake stars on one stage but it is not the pure art form it used to be.

Yeah, Daniel sucked as Bond in QoS.

So this way looks drama fight and a death on Broadway??
Eeeee I am dissapointed there will not be a proper fight between Danny and haired ugly Hugh Jackman. So why people are crazy of wanting an expensive ticket? to see a boredom at the theatre??
I wouldn’t spend neither a pound for boredom. there sitting and talking men and we listening to them. I always hated theatres and I almost die when I went with my class to the theatre.

@to 60:
you’re talking about a tony award winner. and another actor who, as I understand, got good reviews for theatre work in london.
there is far more to them than “beefcake”. you haven’t even seen the play yet, but you already say it won’t be “pure art form”?
so much negativity from the get go.

Hugh sucked worse though.

I love Daniel in mostly everything he does, (with exception of a few projects) but he will really need to get his American cop accent down firmly in place and sound authentic and credible.
Daniel’s American accent in Tomb Raider was too forced and just totally su*ked …badly! Barbara for sure will get Daniel gets the best voice coach in the industry to work that American accent into place.

I agree Hugh is an accomplished actor but I think the majority of people will see this play to see Hugh and James Bond.
