Hugh Jackman & Daniel Craig To Hit Broadway Together in ‘A Steady Rain’
Wolverine hunk Hugh Jackman and James Bond stud Daniel Craig will be starring in a new play on Broadway this fall, according to The Post.
The drama, A Steady Rain by Keith Huff, is about two Chicago cops whose lifelong friendship is put to the test when they become involved in a domestic dispute in a poor neighborhood.
This will be Craig’s New York stage debut. In 2004, Hugh won a Tony Award for his role as Peter Allen in the musical The Boy From Oz.
WILL YOU BUY tickets to see two of Hollywood’s hottest hunks on Broadway?

Read carefully-I live in NYC and was discussing what Broadway has done to be financially successful. Having the producers of James Bond make a Broadway play is a commercial move. In these economic times Broadway is doing anything it can to make money. You need to grow up and realize the “pure art form” is long gone. People are going to see this play to see Wolverine and James Bond. And it could be a terrible play but it will be successful financially.
@to 72:
true. but many will also see it cause they’re fans of his stage work.
and hey, if it’s good, those who came to see “wolverine” and “bond” will have gotten to see a different side of them, and experience the theatre a little. maybe it’ll draw them back to broadway to see other plays. time will tell, of course.. fingers crossed.
I, unfortunately, won’t be able to find out in person.
Sure woman will go to this play for the pure art form-not the beefcake!! What planet do you live on?
His accent in Defiance was horrible too.
Yes, just like the Bond and Wolverine movies-terrible but they made a boatload of money. That’s Hollywood (and Broadway) for you!!!
Just read that the play will be after Labor day and Daniel has definately signed on.
@to 72:
so? if it’s commercially successful, that’s a bad thing? what, plays can’t make money and be good at the same time?
and you speak for every single person going to see this play? you know for a fact that everyone will see it for “wolverine” and “bond”?
@to snoopy:
yeah yeah. no female theatre goers go to see plays because of the acting. they’re all shallow. what planet do YOU live on?

Yes totally agree there. Wolverine and QoS were hardly “acting” stand outs but made money.
Of course Babs and Broadway know their business well.
Mega money for this play and attention for Broadway, Babs and the stars.
The “pure art form” being mentioned I think refers to the “true thespians” who act in plays on a constant basis (Globe Theatre etc)but have little commercial success.
I do hope that Jackman and Craig pull off something worthwhile.
so babs pimps out dan for b/way and dan pimps out his gonk to babs for work? charming.

MGW confirms 2011 release date for Bond 23.
Well put!! Hey she knows good beefcake when she sees it-and the beefcake makes a lot of money for her!!
No in this case I don’t think men and women are going for the acting. They will see this play to see (as most sites have described them) a stud and a hunk who happen to be famous.
his gonk

I think you refer to Satsuki?
Yes, it seems like a nice cosy deal there.
cosy? It makes me want to barf. But the more the gf is involved in his work the more it makes me believe it is more of a business relationship.

I failed to put cozy in inverted commas, sorry.
I did mean it sarcastically and yes, business and more business.
I guess there will be people who will say love and work can mix but Satsuki’s more “profiled’ appearence now in his work life really seems interesting.
I wonder if her movie “Last Night” will be tied into this? Free popcorn (or sick bag) for it if you buy a ticket to Daniel’s play?
Their relationship in a nutshell.
#89 - there are many people (men and women) who were blown away by Hugh’s performance in his previous Broadway work and that’s why they’ll go see A Steady Rain (if, in fact, he signs on). There is so much more to Hugh Jackman than his appearance. He’s a hunk who is loaded with talent and incredible stage presence.
Perfection with words!!!
5-6 week run.
Craig - Joey.
Jackman - Denny.

i totally agree with you. in this economy broadway does need to make money. maybe having daniel craig and hugh jackson will bring it in for them. the pure “art form” is all well and good but i have to tell you that the prices are way off the mark. i put something on the order of 532 dollars on my visa for 4 tickets to a musical during easter break. then the actors, at the end of the show, asked us to contribute more money to some sort of fund. there wasn’t even a military discount for my brother.

Now you see, that is tacky. I’d tell them to stuff it, but that’s me.
i couldn’t tell them to stuff it because that would have been rude. but it sure irriated me. not only that, but the seats in this theatre were uncomfortable and they didn’t have proper seating for my brother’s friend. he lost his leg in iraq and had to stand in the back for part of the performance because of lack of leg room.
for daniel; i’ll be booking my flight out right after i get back from nyc next week!
I agree Hugh is extremely talented in movies and on Broadway but people in the US know Craig as Bond. The producer of Bond is using Craig to promote the Bond franchise and to make money. I don’t think she is using him in the play to promote the pure art of acting.
