David Hyde Pierce is a Married Man
Former Frasier star David Hyde Pierce reveals that he wed longtime love Brian Hargrove on October 24th, 2008.
The 50-year-old actor shared the happy news on The View after having been together for 25 years. David and Brian tied the knot a few weeks before California’s Proposition 8 was passed, which banned same-sex marriage. The state’s Supreme Court ruled this week that his marriage (along with 18,000 others) is still legal but upheld the ban for future couples.
“[It's like] oh great, I made the cut!” David said sarcastically.
He also went on to say that one’s sexuality is a personal matter. “What you choose to talk about is a personal decision,” David said. “I’m not a big fan [of outing celebrities].”

Congratulations to David and Brian. And for those against gay marriage, don’t you think 25 years together and marrying as soon as leagally possible speaks volumes? As opposed to say, JLo, Britney Spears, Larry King, Liz Taylor, Newt Gingrich, etc. who’ve made a mockery out of the institution? I for one am neutral on the whole idea or marriage, but I can’t understand denying two gay consenting adults the same right as hetero couples. Just a thought.

Ten years from now this subject will be a big yawn and our grandkids will wonder what the fuss was all about. I wish everyone would get over it and move on.

good god! this is the 21st century not the dark ages. these two men have been together 25 years, that’s longer than most straight couples who get married. don’t believe me; just look at the divorce rates. i admire their committment to each other and say all power to them

Unbelievable how the world is turning to. Save it for themselves. Why do they need to make it in public and even want the law to pass? Ridiculous.

@ michelle. Why do they want the law passed?? Are you that thick? They want it passed so they can be recognized just as any other loving hetrosexual couple is. They want to be legally wed, just like anyone else & why shouldn’t they. It is the 21st century, what 2 consenting adults do sexually or otherwise is no-one elses business. As to why they want to make it public? He waited a very long time, kept it private, perhaps now he feels he can help make give the cause more publicity using his celbrity profile. Congrats David, you are obviously very happy.

Just remember, man + woman = marriage. You can have domestic partnership if you wish.

I find your last statement offensive - each person should have the right to choose what is right for him or her and do what makes them happy, as long, of course, as they hurt no one. DHP and his spouse and millions like them are no different.

I stand by what I believe if 2 people love each other & want to marry they should be able too, no government has the right to make that choice.
