There is nothing wrong with Katie dressing down. BUT it would be nice if she would dress in age appropriate clothing instead of trying to look like a teen. And it would be nice if she would wash her hair and bathe daily. It would be nice if she looked as though she made an effort to wear something clean. It would probably be asking too much for her to wear clothing who’s lines, color and style compliments her body type. This is probably beyond her mental capacity to put such an outfit together.

And oh yes. She is public figure–she married a high profile actor. She knows the game. If she chooses to dress like a homeless dumpster diver, than she can take the criticism. I don’t know many people young to senior citizen who would go out of the house looking like she does on some days–especially the days when she wears leggings with ill-fitting, dirty looking capris over them.

And finally Ms. Holmes is coming otu with a fashion line within the next year. Based on a video clip on another site, she doesn’t want to talk about it yet so we don’t know much about it. BUT I know common sense, business sense etc. would tell someone who is coming out with a fashion line–that wearing clothing that promotes it even at this time and stage would be a good marketing move.

However, if Katie’s own designs are indicative of her talent, I dont’ think even being Mrs. Tom CRUISE is going to save the line. You seem to indicate that you are not from the US. But you can still, courtesy of the Internet, see style magazine polls. When Katie wears her own designs the approval votes generally run less than 30 pecent on average. She got a whopping 8 percent yes vote on that monstrosity she wore to the opening of All My Sons (the truly horrendous white jump suit with black lace she designed).

So, if I were Katie, I’d be doing some self promotion of my line since there are jobs on the line for people who don’t have her money and a lay off due to a non-selling line could devastate these people. But Katie is oblivious. She has no one to tell her how truly awful her fashion sense is. The paps make fun of her dress sense, the public for the most part doesn’t care for her style. She brought it on her self with her huge ego.

Wow, how incredibly arrogant you are. Do you know a lot of US celebs got their start overseas–especially models? And many of our US celebs are positively worshipped in some countries–even no talents like Paris Hilton?

Furthermore US celebs from the ilk of a Paris Hilton to the A+ listers like Pitt and Cruise do commercials all the time overseas that we never see (unless it is on YouTube). Like Tommy girl needs the money? No he wants the adoration and fame.

So what is wrong with foreign celebs coming here to capture their dream?

It’s sad that you use the fact that celebrities are public figures as a excuse to be mean to them, #77. And you would know how if Holmes bathes and washes her hair daily? She either dresses as a teen or an old lady-make up your mind! She dresses for her own benefit. Not for total strangers on the internet. Now you’re using poor employees as an insult? Do you critics have no shame.

Cruise doesn’t do commercials overseas. All celebrities want adoration and fame and there’s no shame in that.

I believe Tom did some commercials when he was first starting out…before the Internet, YouTube etc. I can remember seeing something when I lived in Europe.

Yes I was wrong about him doing them now. BUT if you read the post I was replying to–it wasn’t a criticism of Cruise that I thought he did overseas commercials–it was a response to an ignorant idiot who complains because we support foreign actors when our own USA actors make tons of money overseas–including Cruise. He has a huge fan base in Asia. Especially Japan. Why do you think he went over there to personally hawk Valkyrie? It was a smart marketing move on his part to raise the overall revenue on this film.

So if the three of you want to lose your lunch over Cruise making money overseas–and myh commenting on it–please do.
