Angelina Jolie: Injured on ‘Salt’ Set

Angelina Jolie was rushed to the hospital on Friday (May 29) after injuring herself on the Long Island set of her new movie, Salt.

TMZ reports the 33-year-old actress “bumped her head, getting some sort of nick in between her eyes. She bled a bit and was taken to the hospital. Her manager tells us she was doing a stunt when the incident occurred.”

The film’s production company released a statement, saying, “This morning while filming an action sequence… Angelina Jolie sustained a minor injury. As a precautionary measure, Ms. Jolie will be taken to the hospital and examined. Production on the film has resumed.”

Angelina’s tough, she loves doing her own stunts, she even did the stunt in Mr. and Mrs. Smith where she jumps out the window and cables down 20 floors, landing with style on the street. She did this in one take too. She did most of the stunts in Tomb Raider movies (well those the insurance company would allow) she likes to mix it up. She did weapons training for Tomb Raider movies, Wanted, MMS too. It’s not serious, but because she’s Angelina Jolie if she sneezes or gets a paper cut it makes the news.

WINONA RYDER has no resentment towards Angelina Jolie for stealing her thunder in ‘Girl, Interrupted’.

The actress had the lead role of Susanna in the 1999 but it was relative newcomer Angelina who wowed fans and critics alike, winning the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, for her portrayal of Lisa.

She said: “I knew from the outset that whoever played Lisa was going to get all the attention. At one point they asked if I wanted to play Lisa and I said, ‘No, I want to be Susanna.’

“But there was no resentment. When it came out people almost felt bad for me. But I expected it all along. I was really happy with the film, and really proud of it.”

Winona also felt sympathy for her co-star because her talent was always overshadowed by her appearance.

She added to Empire magazine: “At the time I worked with her, she was battling her looks because she’s so beautiful. She wanted very much to be taken seriously and not just judged on her looks. And she conquered that.”
