This is the place to discuss him if your his fan. They lie to each other and say he’s still worth your devotion.
Even the owners of the site passed on parts of the website to others because they realized he’s NOT all that.

I’m so proud of you… great comment!
Read his old interviews, Sugar. He admitted a few times that he would be in a relationship, then see something else he wanted and move on to that. Then he said that his ex-girlfriends hated him when it would happen. There have also been several reports of him dumping women. You refuse to believe them and never will, which he counts on so you’ll be dumb enough to keep promoting his career, but the reports are out there. He’s earned the manwhore title. It wasn’t given to him because anyone is picking on poor widdle Gerry.
Hey, just gotta say it. “Let him without sin cast the first stone.” I think that in a nut shell is what mARKASITE MADAME is trying to say roughly. You all grab those boulders and start throwing.

You write as if YOU know him. You are no more qualified to say G is a decent guy then the people who call him a sh*t. JJ is just a gossip site, all opinions are allowed, even yours -though you do gush. I think that’s why we occasionally get a “scoop”-look at some older threads.
This isn’t a court where we need proof beyond a “reasonable doubt”. If it were, as Sotrue said, the weight’s on the side of troubled, strange manchild- not good, stable guy.
Ya know, those who mentioned the lighting ‘effect’ in these airport pix might be onto something. I just went back and looked at several inside and outside the terminal, and the infamous ‘chipmunk cheeks’ just aren’t visible in the outdoors’ ones. Hehehe - you could use the argument that the cover of darkness or shadows are hiding the pudgy cheek phenomenon, but it doesn’t appear so. I do have to agree that the holy shirt thing going on does little to enhance his more appealing attributes. But then again, I never got the impression he really cares all that much if the press (particularly ‘yellow’ in nature) or various ‘n sundry detractors have a field day dissing on him from top to bottom. Just MHO, of course… Cait ;o)
@CCWriter:
It’s either the cover of darkness hiding the walnut holders or the cell phone attached to his ear (which he usually uses a blue tooth) blocking the shot. LOL!
@Julia:
LOL!
@Julia:
Walnut? I thought it was acorns they hide in their cheeks. :-)
@Colin:
ROTFL
Sotrue, I’m not saying you are lying I am just curious because I’ve never seen that interview before. Do you have a link? Or do you know the name of the mag?
I know this is just a gossip board and people say whatever they want without fear of a lawsuit, but what I really wonder is why anyone enjoys putting down with such bitterness someone they don’t even know. I realize it’s not just GB as some other celebs get even worse treatment .
There are a few celebs I really despise, but I just ignore them. I would not go onto their sites and cut them to pieces - although I may think it, I keep it to myself.
I prefer to stay with GB, whom I really like. . . and I’m certainly not in the camp of fans who think he is a saint. I rather like it that he is NOT a saint.
I liked him when he was younger and had that oh so beautiful face, and I like him today now that he’s become a sexy MAN. How many of us look the same as we did a decade ago? Anyway, I think he’s got more going for him than anybody else his age, older or younger.
And guess what, I can come on here and say what I want to as well as those who get off on posting negative comments all over the boards.
Sugar, if you need proof, do your own homework..
Pafan, why does anyone find so much pleasure in worshipping someone they don’t know? Your questions work both ways. Who are you to tell people how they should find enjoyment anyway? Isn’t it the same as when you criticize people for sayin Gerry shouldn’t be a manwhore. If we shouldn’t tell him how to find enjoyment in his life, who are you to tell others can’t have fun taking shots at his behavior or appearance if they find that entertaining? You have double standards. One set for a man you wish you could shag and another for anyone who doesn’t share that fantasy.
What you see as bitterness others see as taking an unbiased view. He draws a lot more attention due to his insane fan base. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Their insane gushing can’t help but bring about people who asked why this actor was getting all this attention. When those people looked at who the guy was, they saw someone they not only didn’t think deserved such high praise, but deserved some criticism. When fans fight against criticism, once again, the opposite reaction naturally amped up a little more.
I think his supposedly devoted fans, now that he has a name in Hollywood and doesn’t need them promoting him, are his worst enemy. They get in the way when he’s filming. They make him a laughing stock from his co-stars who think it’s funny to have fat housewives chasing him around. They chase down any mention of him and any magazine or tabloid that covers him - making him more of a tabloid target. They contact every resource that doesn’t cover him in a way they think is appropriate - making those resources less apt to cover him in the future. I could go on, but why bother? It’s funnier watching them embarass and cause problems for the object of their affection. They’re a new version of mad cow.
No one has said you can’t come here that I’ve seen. But don’t piss and moan that others aren’t gushing like you do. If you only want gushing, that’s on the fansites. If you want to post where it’s an open forum, then expect opinions on both sides of the coin, not just blind worship. If you can’t tolerate that, then open forums probably aren’t your cup of tea.
Yeah he also has a pretty insane hate group base
@sotrue:
Well said. I totally agree.
@sotrue:

So true, having extreme feelings towards a celebrity is bad, whether these feelings are love or hate. You have a scary amount of hate towards this man, which makes you just as bad as those who love or as you say gush about him. I like him but I don’t gush. You however, rant and rant and rant.
To everyone out there: I’m not gushing over Gerry Butler, I’m not saying he’s any kind of saint or paragon of virtue, he’s only a normal man from where I sit. I’m a moderate fan, who happens to like his movies and admire him for the good I have read about him. I certainly DO NOT KNOW HIM OR PROFESS TO KNOW HIM IN ANY WAY. He has made a few mistakes in his life, but haven’t we all? How many of us out there are without transgressions in our lives along the way? The point I am trying to make in my posts, with everyone taking my words and twisting them into some kind of “fanatic” fan rants, and totally misinterpreting my meanings, is that nobody can judge him, one way or another, on just a picture or some blog that someone writes about him, which more often than not, is skewed and made up, at least altered for the benefit of those writing the blogs. Gerry has admitted to some of the things he has done, which is an admirable trait in itself, he doesn’t try to sweep his faults and transgressions under the rug. He openly talks about his college days, his drinking and wild times, even his being put in jail in his 20s from being drunk and disorderly in LA - presumably when he was here on his college break as an extra in The Bodyguard. He doesn’t hide or deny what he does or has done, but in reality, he hasn’t done anything any more than any other celebrity has done, yet they don’t get knocked down as much as Gerry does. I read other celebritie’s sites and I don’t see them being criticized to the extent that Gerry is.
I realize that a good part of what is said negatively about Gerry is for the benefit of his fans, to cause them as much grief as possible. I know that his fans are not well liked, and thought of as a pack of overweight, aging, unhappy housewives, who depend on their “fantasy” of Gerry to get them through their days and nights. This is the general consensus of opinion, but could not be any further from the truth. I have been to a couple of Gerry’s charity conventions and have also made friends with some of his “fans” and they are all very normal women, most of them professional women, lawyers, doctors, college professors. The general description of Gerry’s fans is as far off base as it can be, and I have not met one single unhappy housewife who uses Gerry to supply her “fantasy.” I certainly do not, I have a wonderful husband, two wonderful children,and a full and productive life. That does not keep me from wondering why so many have so much animosity in their hearts (if they have hearts), for a man that none of us know enough about to pass the kind of judgment that is so readily passed on him.
I’m not defending anything that Gerry does that is in any way wrong or questionable. But there is no need whatsoever to be cruel and mean spirited toward him on every turn. He’s in the spotlight a lot, he gets trashed by the bloggers as it is, and ridiculed and made fun of by them, why does it have to continue on from the private sector, with such cruelty and condemnation, more often than not from people who have no idea what they are talking about anyway.
Show a little humanity where Gerry is concerned, he deserves at least that much, whether you are a fan of his or not, he deserves a bit of kindness from time to time. He certainly does not deserve the kind of treatment he generally gets here.

Only someone who’s absolutely obsessed with this man would take the time to write such elaborate posts about him.
@mARKASITE MADAME:
Shut the f/ck up already. You are making an ass out of yourself.
@mARKASITE MADAME:
Butler has a mother. He doesn’t need another one. He’s almost 40 years old. Why don’t you concentrate on your own 2 kids and stop with the rambling posts. You are a perfect example of why his fans have the reputation that they do.
@MM:
Your personal attacks make YOU look ugly and the fact that YOU post under a topic about Butler makes you one of his fans too. Fan enough to comment on him.
@MM:
It seems you are the only intelligent person here.
Sugar, honey, what makes you think anyone here hates him? This is another example of your extremism. If someone says “He looks horrible in that shirt” suddenly they’re a hater. If someone says “He’s behaving like a manwhore” they’re a hater. How is that hate? That’s stating an opinion. It doesn’t necessarily have the same amount of emotion and attachment to it as what you’re obviously stating because you’re getting so emotional about defending the man. It’s really not that big a deal to most people. To you and one or two others here and on the fansites, it’s a HUGE deal. Again, it results in an equal and opposite reaction when you attack people for having an opinion.
#119-121 - Yes, it’s a perfect example of how over the top his fans get and then they wonder why the rest of us find it funny, by every definition.
I guess she has’t seen half the stuff most of us have. Many of his fans have whined online how they wish their husbands were more like Gerry, how unhappy they are and how much they use Gerry as what they get off to. Has anyone seen the pics of them mock blowing their Gerry dolls? Or the pic of that fat broad in the tube with her Gerry doll? They earned that reputation as much as Gerry’s earned his.
If you’re married and you’re lusting for another man - it’s a sin. So all those religious fans out there are sinning away. No wonder they forgive all Gerry’s transgressions. Yes, we’ve all sinned. The difference is some of us try to do better. From what we’ve seen of Gerry, he doesn’t try to do better, he tries to do more. If this is all we see of his “public side” vs. him doing good, then people are going to comment on it. if he was doing good all the time, we’d comment on that. We just don’t see it.
GFW mentioned that he might want to do more for charity or be seen in a mature relationship. Those things might give him more facets in the public eye than just the shopaholic, partying manwhore image that we’ve seen nonstop from him since 300 and which was rumored before that film and the tabloids starting picking up on him. Obviously he doesn’t seem to care what the public thinks and is living his life on his terms, so why should his fans care so much and go to insane lengths to defend his honor?
