You may have read that a couple of days ago Angelina Jolie was taken to the hospital after being injured on the Long Island set of her new thriller, Salt. Jolie bumped her head during a stunt, sustaining a cut between her eyes that bled. The actress wasn’t seriously injured, and the production company released the following statement:

“This morning while filming an action sequence… Angelina Jolie sustained a minor injury. As a precautionary measure, Ms. Jolie will be taken to the hospital and examined. Production on the film has resumed.”

Meanwhile, new photos from the set have surfaced over at ComingSoon.net, one of which you can see to your left. To check out about 50 new shots, click here. The new images pertain to scenes filmed in the Borough of Queens in New York City yesterday (Sunday).

Jolie seems none the worse for wear after her little mishap.

Jolie stars as Evelyn Salt, a CIA officer who swore an oath to duty, honor, and country. When she is accused by a defector of being a Russian sleeper spy, Salt goes on the run to clear her name and ultimately prove she is a patriot. Using all her skills and years of experience as a covert operative, she must elude capture and protect her husband or the world’s most powerful forces will erase any trace of her existence.

The Phillip Noyce-directed film co-stars Liev Schreiber and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Salt opens in theaters on July 23, 2010

Winona Ryder has no resentment towards Angelina Jolie for stealing her thunder in ‘Girl, Interrupted’.

The actress had the lead role of Susanna in the 1999 but it was relative newcomer Angelina who wowed fans and critics alike, winning the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, for her portrayal of Lisa.

She said: “I knew from the outset that whoever played Lisa was going to get all the attention. At one point they asked if I wanted to play Lisa and I said, ‘No, I want to be Susanna.’
..
“But there was no resentment. When it came out people almost felt bad for me. But I expected it all along. I was really happy with the film, and really proud of it.”

Winona also felt sympathy for her co-star because her talent was always overshadowed by her appearance.

She added to Empire magazine: “At the time I worked with her, she was battling her looks because she’s so beautiful. She wanted very much to be taken seriously and not just judged on her looks. And she conquered that.”

Awwww…you guys…it’s soooooooooooo sad. misManagement was dropped by another 61 theaters this weekend and is now only playing in 49. But the good news for X is that the movie took in a whopping $59,268 to bring it’s grand total to $809,787 after 3 weeks. It was dropped by 62.5% of the venues it was in. At that rate it’ll never get to $875,000, let alone $1MIL. Does Hallmark make a card for people mourning the death of their career?

I did some digging around - according to the Variety article that said X and GB were in negotiations the movie is being financed by Columbia Pictures. It’s being directed by Andy Tennet who did Hitch, so maybe it does have funding. Several of the movie sites I checked a few weeks ago seemed to think the movie was stillborn and dead because many studios were being much more caucious with funds.

It sure seems like a bad gamble - especially since misManagement just bombed big-time. Although PS I Love You did decent box office - $53.7MIL domestic/$103 foreign and only cost $30MIL to make. So Gerry’s not the risk…that leaves you know who… BBBBWWWHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!!!
