Kelly Clarkson is a Super Nova
Kelly Clarkson hits up Nova radio station on Tuesday (June 2) in Sydney, Australia.
It was just announced that the 27-year-old first-ever American Idol champ will be performing at this year’s MuchMusic Video Awards. Kelly will perform a song off her album, All I Ever Wanted, at the June 21 bash in Toronto. Lady Gaga had already been announced as a performer, while the Jonas Brothers will host and perform at the show.

I can not believe how mean some of you are. She seems to be so nice, friendly & very GENUION. No I don’t believe she is fat, I think she is probably the average size woman. Very talented lady. Ignore the haters Kelly, you don’t need them.

She’s not fat but she is slightly overweight - the weight she was when she first auditioned is probably a good ‘regular’ weight for her. I don’t want to use the word ‘normal’ because nobody really knows what that is and it would be foolish to try and define it but there IS a target weight for every height - you can be under it and look slim or over it and look fuller. I personally think Kelly is outside her target zone but she looks healthy and happy and tbh - as long as she’s not obese or making herself depressed by being anorexic - it’s absolutely fine.
I don’t think she’s overweight. If you look at the height and weight charts, the range goes from 111 all the way to 150 to someone Kelly’s height, depending on her frame. That’s a 40 pound difference. She’s just soft, and, well, pudgy. You can be your correct weight, but if you’re soft and pudgy, you will look fat.

These are the same people who would cry or go totally emo if someone uttered a negative remark about them, and who also would not have the fortitude to say these same negative things to someone’s face. It must be sad to feel so powerless in your real life that these base kinds of comments posted with anonymity online are how you fool yourselves into feeling powerful. I hope you all can get some help and lead productive lives someday. P.S. Billie Holiday…Patsy Cline…Kelly Clarkson. All voluptuous and all three are great singers who could get “a bit chunky” from time to time…but does it REALLY matter? People who care so much about the weight issue are obviously more into looking at the singer, rather than LISTENING to the singer.

it looks like she gained more weight since the last time I’ve seen pictures of her. but I don’t really care about that, as long as she’s happy with who she is. she’s a great singer and people should be talking about that and not how she’s not a size 0 or 2 or whatever.
I find it odd how people defend this fatty. The standard answer is one of two things: she is so talented or she is the normal sized woman. Now, to discuss those two fallacies.
#1. Her being fat has nothing to do with being a singer of reputed talent. There is no logic in answering the fat statement with a comment about her voice. They are two unrelated things and show the sheer stupidity of Clarkson fans.
#2. She is the normal sized woman, that should be a concern. In general, Americans are overweight just as Clarkson is. While she might come close to a statistical norm, is that norm healthy. The scientific evidence is decidedly NO. When the norm is unhealthy, there is no need to glorify that. This whale does just that. She is unhealthy just as many Americans are and only fellow fat slobs find this acceptable.
Celebs are held to a different standard of beauty than the average person and Clarkson seems to be attempting to lower it. This seems to be at the expense of her career. It is time for her to: stop eating, get gastric bypass, or go back to ramming her fingers down her throat. An eating disorder would help her fame and looks.

Why does every mention of Kelly Clarkson turn into a debate about her weight? Anyone can look up standard weight charts on Google and see for themselves what is considered healthy for a woman 5′ 3″ tall of medium build. As anyone who has seen her in person can attest, she is probably within the healthy range. And even if she isn’t, who cares? You actually have to be 20% over your target weight before it is a significant health liability. Judging from the tone of some of these posts, I suspect some of you here have more serious health risks facing you than Kelly does. Check out what carrying around a lot of hostility does to your body over time. Toxic emotions are at least as dangerous a fat. Get help!
Personally, I think she looks amazing with curves. It’s look so much better on anyone. Having your ribs poke out is very very unattractive.

I love Kelly Clarkson to death and am a huge fan, but I think there’s no question at this point that she’s overweight.
She’s only 5′3″, but I’ve read that she weighs around 165lbs, which puts her roughly thirty pounds overweight.
For her own health, she should try to shed some pounds. She doesn’t have to be a stick, but she ought to aim for a weight that would place her in the healthy range of the BMI scale.
She’s so pretty, and it really shows when she keeps up and stays in shape.

Kelly is a wonderful person. If she were to stand on the WII FIT her BMI would indicate overweight. It would not indicate obese, but it would not indicate average. She is happy, she looks to be having a great time. This is unusual for her the past few months/years, so I think weight doesnt matter all that much. She may be technically overweight, but probably 99% of you taking on this board have a BMI way out of control. She does not look 40. This happens to every one that goes on tour ask around what happens is junk food and not working out and eating right being on tour doesn’t allow you the time to cook healthy or any thing you grab what you can as you can do your gig and then to the hotel and sleep or sleep on the tour bus snack to pass time and thats it. Again ask around read interviews watch interviews about being on tour they all say this. But she is pregnant with my baby!
