Actors Gerard Butler and Lake Bell attend a cocktail reception at Salvatore Ferragamo on Wednesday (June 3) in New York City.
An international auction featuring celebrity-owned and autographed handbags donated by Madonna, Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore, Gywneth Paltrow, Eva Longoria, Marisa Tomei, Dita Von Teese, Lucy Liu, and Debi Mazar are currently being auctioned on eBay June 2nd through June 12th. All proceeds from the eBay auction will benefit GlobalGiving’s Italy Earthquake Relief and Recovery Fund.

Asking if someone is 12 just because they comment that his face looks blotchy shows that you are the child who can’t stand when anyone doesn’t agree with your fawning. There are many who have posted the same observations. His face looks a little rough. He seems to have aged quite a bit in 4 years. Maybe it’s lifestyle and sun or just the aging process. But there is no denying that it’s there. Doesn’t mean he still isn’t attractive. But he has changed.

Gerry at this thing is an odd thing but a good thing because he’s in a fashion capital so being out and about for charity at these things is a good thing. Will say the after party shows just how much (”model” or not) reflects his total non-enjoyment of it all. Maybe caught interrupted? Hope so. Sure the night wasn’t without its benefits.

I think Gerry is a fine looking man.. He has grown and aged throughout the years. So what? As a whole he’s very attractive; he has a quality about him that attracts a lot of people. I’ve never quite figured it out. In person he retains that quality, but he is very photogenic…trust me on that one.

Movie stars are money making machines to studios and management firms as well as themselves. All these partying may just be required publicity (written in their contracts). TUT is coming up and hope Gerard and Katherine will give some interviews. TUT doesn’t seem to get as much mentioning as The Proposal in terms of entertainment news and exposures. The best thing to do with people who need to be judges and juries is to ignore them. Whether they know for sure that what they are saying is the truth or it’s their assumptions, It’s their right to say it for what ever reason they feel is right. A guess is as good as an opinion for them. Let’s face it we all think we know the truth, but we may never know for sure. Even if it comes straight out of his mouth doesn’t guarantee the truth. Speculation is all that’s being said here by any of us. So go ahead discuss. But, if someone wants to be a nay sayer, ignore for what it is. That goes for both sides of comments. We can all agree to disagree.

This is what I know about celebrities in general: The way they act in private and the way they act in public are very different. Don’t believe everything you read. It is usually taken completely out of context. And no, they don’t really want to meet their BIGGEST fan in the whole wide world who is crying and screaming their name. This is scary. They are only coming over and giving autographs and taking pictures because their PR rep has instructed them to do so. If they had to do it of their own free will, it would NOT happen. Oh, and this is a guarantee: They don’t want to be disturbed while out trying to do something normal — like eat, for example. Don’t we all want to eat in peace?

IF he is going for the shock jock comments and proving that he is indeed just like the character in the upcoming TUT (as he has been already quoted; it is just like him) its a really stupid role. It appears more and more like someone has a personal vendetta against Butler, a personal score to settle with him. It is almost like “let’s bring down this scum bag” through blogging and internet boards discussions. It’s not funny any more. His management/PR team need to do a better job to manage his public image.
There’s not a PR team on the planet that could save this guy from himself.
Gerry is responsible for the reputation that he has. No one is forcing him to act, do or say what he does in public. He alone is responsible for that. He doesn’t have to go out to clubs that paps frequent, nor does he have to comment on f/cking chickens in the press. He chooses to do it. And apparently his choices aren’t the smartest when you are in the public eye because people are going to comment on them and some of those comments are going to be negative. Commenting on Butler’s public antics is not “picking on him”. It’s voicing an opinion. It is amazing how there are fans that can’t stand anyone voicing an opinion that doesn’t mirror their own.

The number of people who actually post on celebrity internet sites are not making or breaking a career. The majority of people out in the real world never even look at these sites, and when some do, it’s probably to think how crazy the posters are - whether negative or positive.
I’ve asked around, and for instance, people at work have never heard of JJ or IMDB. Some have heard of Perez, but only because his name comes up occcasionally on TV.

If I remember correctly it was said that it’s not blogs or fan sites, in themselves, that matter to the PR people but that larger entertainment outlets can pick up these stories and run with them. No, the general pop. doesn’t know about these sites but bigger sites do.
The general public may not know JJ oder IMDB, but a lot of people know and watch TMZ for example. And I’m sure you know how heavily he’s been featured there and not in a flattering way. However, they couldn’t do that if he didn’t constantly provide the ammunition with his immature behavior. And yeah, one day the bigger outlets will pick up on the stuff that’s been posted on gossip sites. With the Aniston movie just around the corner, I wouldn’t be surprised if the clean up had something to do with that. He will be in the public’s eye like never before once this movie starts filming.

A few months back the two motherships of GB fandom wanted to raise money and be contributors to Burns. His management quickly thanked them for their interest but diplomatically said ‘no thanks.’ I think they were afraid being contributors would give these women a sense of entitlement where Burns is concerned. They’d probably demand access to the sets. Someone joked they’d arrive in a tour bus with a big sign plastered on its side, ‘Official contributors to the Robert Burns Film.’

Most of the people that were at the Ferragamo event also went to the birthday party. He is not with the asian looking woman he is sitting next to. You can almost tell by her body language. And sugar - go take your meds. You’re wacky and delusional.
The extreme fangurls are a HUGE liability. They track him down and bother him on set, they irritate the film crew, they annoy the cast, they demand attention non-stop. They excuse, encourage and enable his worst behavior. They disrupt events designed to promote his films. They delve into every aspect of his private life. Many of us that are going to the benefit concert is NOT doing it because Gerry will be in the movie. Many of us love Robert Burns songs and his life storie… that is also why we want the movie to be made..
So THAT is why most of us are going …for ROBERT BURNS.

@zzzzzz: My experience has been (multiple times seeing him in person and on red) fans are excited but want to behave…occasional limo rushing incident I recall. I suspect a lot of the stuff out there about bad behavior is from jealous fans who weren’t there. They whine to the fan site admin and then they put out a guideline program for behavior. GB has been very generous to fans when I’ve been around them and him. I’m no expert, but that’s my experience.

And many people would characterize his public behavior as “antics”. Telling a group of middleaged women that he was masturbating at 3 am that morning, or kissing very young fans after Leno and saying that he wants to take them home, or talking about how sex is his favorite thing to do at a press junket for a children’s movie (Nims), or referencing his privates almost everytime his is on a talk show, or last but not least talking about how men f/ck chickens at bachelor parties are all things that some people (who you call “haters”) might think is better left unsaid and undone in public. When you are in the public eye, you should know that your actions and words can often be misconstrued. All the more reason to kept the vulgarities and bawdy comments to a minimum. It’s not hard to see why some might take offense while others don’t…unless you can’t see anything through those rose colored glasses.

He also gets in trouble for his “antics.” But he is a good family man with some great values. For example, he tried to abolish gambling in one of the casinos he owns in Australia. In a culture obsessesed with alocohol and gambling this was a great and bold move. I like those two men because they don’t pretend to be perfect or manipulate the press like many celebreties do.
