Actors Gerard Butler and Lake Bell attend a cocktail reception at Salvatore Ferragamo on Wednesday (June 3) in New York City.
An international auction featuring celebrity-owned and autographed handbags donated by Madonna, Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore, Gywneth Paltrow, Eva Longoria, Marisa Tomei, Dita Von Teese, Lucy Liu, and Debi Mazar are currently being auctioned on eBay June 2nd through June 12th. All proceeds from the eBay auction will benefit GlobalGiving’s Italy Earthquake Relief and Recovery Fund.

I don’t think he can change his image by scaring bloggers or having comments on gossip sites deleted. If he wants a new image, he should start living it.

When I read his chicken f*****g comments I knew there would have to be some effort made on his behalf to retract it, apologize for it, or minimize it. Of course his fans will lower the bar as far as necessary to encourage and enable him - nothing new there. Now let’s see how the PR machine tries to cover up for him.
The lowest and smarmiest aspect of his chicken comments is not the lewd part, it was the implication “everyone knows you do it and you’re all as bad as me.” He rolls in the gutter and drags us down there with him. THAT’S WHAT HE SHOULD APOLOGIZE FOR .
If he is so well-equipped as he always hints how could he (or any other grown man for that matter) ever f*** a chicken? Think about it. It’s probably technically impossible unless you’re really small… LOL. So whatever they do with the chicken at these bachelor parties, it must be something else. Which means he has no clue what he was talking about (as usual) and just went for a dirty remark to get some cheap attention. So much for the image change, LOL.
You are all very strange. Go get a job or do something to help others instead of picking on people.

Oh wake up and smell the coffee people. This is a gossip thread and we get to hurl opinions here (thanks JJ :-) ) This place doesn’t turn into The Christian Science Reading Room just because some trumped-up, over-praised frat boy acts like a scum bag and we comment on it. Get over yourselves.
@amen: You are not stating opinions. You are picking on people. For whatever reason, I have no idea. As I see it, you are a bully.
The best thing to do with people who need to be judges and juries is to ignore them. Whether they know for sure that what they are saying is the truth or it’s their assumptions, It’s their right to say it for what ever reason they feel is right. A guess is as good as an opinion for them. Let’s face it we all think we know the truth, but we may never know for sure. Even if it comes straight out of his mouth doesn’t guarantee the truth. Speculation is all that’s being said here by any of us. So go ahead discuss. But, if someone wants to be a nay sayer, ignore for what it is. That goes for both sides of comments. We can all agree to disagree.

My only response to this thread is my standard: No one on any board will ever know the “real” Gerard Butler. Nor on any other forums, fan boards, or what have you.
This is what I know about celebrities in general: The way they act in private and the way they act in public are very different. Don’t believe everything you read. It is usually taken completely out of context. And no, they don’t really want to meet their BIGGEST fan in the whole wide world who is crying and screaming their name. This is scary. They are only coming over and giving autographs and taking pictures because their PR rep has instructed them to do so. If they had to do it of their own free will, it would NOT happen. Oh, and this is a guarantee: They don’t want to be disturbed while out trying to do something normal — like eat, for example. Don’t we all want to eat in peace?
@just my bit: I disagree. Some celebrities are nicer to their fans than others. Not just because someone tells them to be nice. They are not robots.
haven’t read this thread for a while - but GB has been a busy boy - but why all the low life stuff as per #70. IF he is going for the shock jock comments and proving that he is indeed just like the character in the upcoming TUT (as he has been already quoted; it is just like him) its a really stupid role. Almost impossible for any PR team to clean up, and nowhere to step back from personally. Seems like a one way street from here - downwards! Who the hell would want to be involved at that point - both professionally or personally apart from the dopiest and most naive of fans. Just don’t understand why he can’t seem to filter what he says??? I thought that he was suposed to be super bright?
Interesting that the Nordic chick’s desperate karaoke clip of GB doing his Oasis vocals is also gone! the clean up is on! why????

Wow. If I were Butler’s PR team, I would take notice.
It appears more and more like someone has a personal vendetta against Butler, a personal score to settle with him. It is almost like “let’s bring down this scum bag” through blogging and internet boards discussions. It’s not funny any more. His management/PR team need to do a better job to manage his public image.
There’s not a PR team on the planet that could save this guy from himself.
Gerry is responsible for the reputation that he has. No one is forcing him to act, do or say what he does in public. He alone is responsible for that. He doesn’t have to go out to clubs that paps frequent, nor does he have to comment on f/cking chickens in the press. He chooses to do it. And apparently his choices aren’t the smartest when you are in the public eye because people are going to comment on them and some of those comments are going to be negative. Commenting on Butler’s public antics is not “picking on him”. It’s voicing an opinion. It is amazing how there are fans that can’t stand anyone voicing an opinion that doesn’t mirror their own.
And by the way, you can be a fan and not like everything that this guy says or does.
Now I wonder if what was said on other threads may just be true. That people who know celebs do come to sites and snoop, post or have things deleted. Not saying I believe everyone who claims or implies they know GB is telling the truth but now I’m not so quick to just brush them off as frauds. In light of the deletion of the philly and nordic girls blogs someone is checking the web out for sh>t and getting stuff taken down. There’s some pretty revealing stuff here at JJ but it’s in much older threads. Let’s see if any of it gets axed!!!
I believe ya’ll are thinking you are more important to a celebrity’s career than you are - and I don’t just mean GB.
The number of people who actually post on celebrity internet sites are not making or breaking a career. The majority of people out in the real world never even look at these sites, and when some do, it’s probably to think how crazy the posters are - whether negative or positive.
I’ve asked around, and for instance, people at work have never heard of JJ or IMDB. Some have heard of Perez, but only because his name comes up occcasionally on TV.

If I remember correctly it was said that it’s not blogs or fan sites, in themselves, that matter to the PR people but that larger entertainment outlets can pick up these stories and run with them. No, the general pop. doesn’t know about these sites but bigger sites do.
The general public may not know JJ oder IMDB, but a lot of people know and watch TMZ for example. And I’m sure you know how heavily he’s been featured there and not in a flattering way. However, they couldn’t do that if he didn’t constantly provide the ammunition with his immature behavior. And yeah, one day the bigger outlets will pick up on the stuff that’s been posted on gossip sites. With the Aniston movie just around the corner, I wouldn’t be surprised if the clean up had something to do with that. He will be in the public’s eye like never before once this movie starts filming.
119, what exactly are “gerry’s public antics”? So what if he goes to nightclubs a lot? Is it a crime? It’s not like he is visitng illegal ***** houses or drug dens. He’s just clubbing. Who made these stupid rules that people should stop living a certain lifestyle after a certain age? These dumb suffocating rules that are making so many people miserable?
