Hayden Christensen is Vanishing on 7th Street
Hayden Christensen picks up some party supplies from a local Albertsons supermarket on Thursday afternoon (June 4) in Los Feliz, Calif.
The 28-year-old Canadian actor is said to be joining John Leguizamo and Thandie Newton in the Brad Anderson-directed film Vanishing on 7th Street.
The trio will play survivors of a mysterious phenomenon in which, during a blackout, most of the population disappears. Holed up in a tavern, they try to piece together what’s happening before the “darkness” returns.

@atlqueen: Beyonce’s figure is curvy all over and everything is in proportion. That’s why she looks so good! Rachel’s body is not in proportion and that’s why it doesn’t work. Some people put excess weight on in the hip region and this makes their figure look ill balanced and disproportionate. She’s a pear shape! If she wants to look good it’s something she has to take the time, determination and work to do by keeping the excess weight off her hips. I’m 5′ 3″ and 104lbs, slightly taller than Rachel, so she’s heavier and shorter than me, on her figure that extra heaviness shows and it’s just not a good look whatever you say. Men like proportionate curvy women, they don’t like excess fat.
@tonie: I think that this is very relevant statement! It’s very staged and Hayden does not seem at ease at all with it. It wouldn’t have happened back at his home so it’s likely Rachel is behind the decision to allow this. Basically she’s pimping her boyfriend, fiancee, whatever for the media attention she gets from it, regardless of his feelings. It’s a shame because he’s so much better than that and I wonder why he allows it to happen. He certainly doesn’t look like he’s enjoying it so why do it!
In interviews she comes across as a boring, rather giggly, emotionally stunted teenager instead of a well balanced, intelligent, educated and, one would imagine, well travelled young woman! Why is that? Is she deliberately dumbing herself down for the interview or is she just not a very bright spark? She doesn’t seem to have the ability to converse on an erudite level and even her quotes are predictably banal and very teenage- rooted. I know there are men who feel threatened by intellectual women but I would have hoped that Hayden isn’t one of them. Perhaps she feels that as teenagers are her target audience she must look and behave like one. It does her no favours though because she puts herself in the position where she has little, practically no, appeal to a broader and more intelligent viewing public.
This is supposed to be a thread about Hayden not Rachel, she is not in the pictures and is not even mentioned. Do you have to keep going on about saddle bags and how dumb she is. How about some talk about the up and coming movie Hayden will be doing.
@Bella boo: It’s just such a shame to see someone with such promising early talent being reduced by a person who’s so inferior in talent and intelligence to him. The film mentioned above is only a rumour and I don’t hold out much hope for New York, I Love You as a vehicle for his acting talents. He has done little that holds up to scrutiny recently. Maybe his early promise was just a flash in the pan! Rachel is a little fish and whines constantly about not getting the parts that go to more intelligent and attractive actresses, the reason being is that she is a little fish and should confine herself to those parts that are suited to her talents. She does Hayden’s career no good at all and makes him look ridiculous both in public and professionally. It happens all the time, that some pairings just ruin a person rather than enhancing them and it’s a crying shame to see it happen whether to a friend, acquaintance or a stranger.
Hayden has in the meantime other priorities in life other than pleasing the world and trying to explain why.

In a profession, in any profession, it is the quality of work a person produces that is important, not the person! The actor is never more important than the quality of acting produced! I believe that Hayden has it in him to be a good actor but too much banal media attention leaves any actor/actress over exposed and looking as though they are desperately seeking attention. Keeping it private, keeping it focused and working hard are the key elements of success. Yet this appears to have been forgotten in what seems to come across as blatant sucking up to the press! Hayden has always come across as a private individual who does not need or want such press attention so why the change? Too much, too banal and people lose interest. They switch off, it happens all the time. I’m not saying that Rachel is the cause of such rather uninteresting media hype but if she is, if, as a couple they feel that this enhances their careers, then the premiss is wrong and they need to step back and focus a bit on what is truly important. If people want to be seen as good actors then focus on the acting, the profession, and not on having the media following them home! It’s distracting, depressing to watch and unprofessional. It makes them look like Big Brother contestants constantly striving to maintain their five minutes in the spotlight.
