Damn I remember that interview when that picture was taken. Angelina was just glowing (always does when she is pregnant). but she was just so cute and giggly.. I just loved that interview. Little or no makeup and her face… Her face.. HER FACE… I could see why Brad was so taken with her.. That interview and the 2 she has done with Ellen are my favorites. Oh and Jon Stewart too. I think if some of the people who don’t like her saw those interveiws they would be able to can see how warm and sweet she is. But of course that would go against all the negative stuff they need to believe about this woman. She is just so misunderstood. But all the people who have met her always say the nicest things. So I take that as my source of the kind of person she is..

I put my feelings about Bud Collins in the e-mail I sent you. But I forgot about Pat Cash. Pat Cash’s opinion isn’t worth a hill of beans. Brad Pitt Buys $1 Million Painting

It wasn’t his first choice, but Brad Pitt still decided to spend a reported $960,000 on a painting by German artist Neo Rauch during a visit to Art Basel, the annual contemporary art fair in Switzerland.

According to a representative of the artist’s Berlin gallery, Pitt had his eye on another painting by Rauch, but that one was already reserved for museum. Rauch, 46, has works that hang, among other places, in New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Pitt’s purchase, a rainbow-colored racetrack painting titled Etappe (which refers to a leg of a race), was described by New York’s David Zwirner Gallery as an “enigmatic and dreamlike” representation of a racecar being tuned up in the middle of a competition, according to the Wall Street Journal.

This year’s 40th Art Basel festival, featuring the work of more than 2,5000 artists, opened to the public Wednesday. Pitt, 45, also attended last year’s Art Basel, shortly before Angelina Jolie gave birth to their twins, Vivienne and Knox.

Assessing whether Angelina Jolie, Bob Geldof, Michael Palin — all well-known celebrities in their own right – can also be considered travel writers, the special edition is entitled Travel and Celebrity Culture.

The issue seeks to offer a fresh perspective on travel writing studies by investigating the relationship between ‘travel celebrities’ and travel texts.

What function do travel celebrities perform, both now and throughout history? How has the idea of celebrity influenced modern travel, and modern travel writing? How does the celebrity status of a traveller influence the travel text?

The issue doesn’t set out to answer all of these questions implicitly, but by centering on specific travellers and their texts it contributes to the study of the interplay between travel writing and celebrity studies.

Focusing on celebrities as diverse as Bruce Chatwin, the Prince of Wales, and Stella Court Treatt, it also includes an article examining Angelina Jolie’s role with the UN, and the diaries which she kept during her visits to Africa and South-east Asia.

I just picked up the latest issue of “People.” The tabloids have been unusually vicious lately. The artcle debunks every rumour abou JP - i.e. no late night meetings with JA, No limo rides with JA, no fighting in Cannes, etc. I rarely post, and I have no particular dislike for JA., unless it turns out that she and her publicist are behind all these insane reunion lies. That would make her beyond pathetic and comtemptible.

RICHARD Desmond’s Ameri can version of OK! magazine is underwater, losing money at the rate of half a million dollars per week.

Antiques: Made in Pa., Gehry’s sleek Tuyomyo bench

Today in New York, Sotheby’s will offer for sale the gleaming and sinuous Tuyomyo bench by Frank Gehry, the most important design for interior space ever created by the famous architect. The bench was fabricated at Emeco in Hanover, Pa., perhaps the only firm capable of executing Gehry’s vision in aluminum.

“Frank O. Gehry: Design Process and the Lewis House,” an exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, gave viewers a chance to relate Gehry’s architectural work to his furniture and decorative arts. The show closed in April, but the museum holds major examples of the architect’s furniture and lighting in its permanent collection.

At a talk by Gehry, Buchbinder met another fan: “I ended up talking to Brad Pitt for a while, and he collects furniture, and he likes aluminum furniture, and he has Emeco chairs in his house. He’s just a really nice guy and a very knowledgeable person about furniture

The ex’s problem has always been that she is not naturally what she appears to be physically. She had to practically torture herself to get and keep that body. She has the kind of body that tends to be thick - if it was thick in her younger days then it will most likely revert to being thick as she gets older. It wasn’t a bad body. It just wasn’t thin enough for her height and for camera work by Hollywood standards.

I have always thought that the truth about the absence of children in her life has been all about that - her terror of losing her body and never getting it back. She has spent untold thousands recrafting her physical appearance in a race from herself like some fugtive from justice. If she let go for the time needed to have a baby I think she is afraid it will all fall apart.

Aniston had so many great reasons to have a child, e.g., a supportive and loving husband, a chance to create a healthy, happy mother-child relationship of her own. And zero obstacles considering her circumstances and support system. So unless there are psychological reasons blocking her from doing what she really wants to do, one can only assume she is living her choices and she didn’t want to have one.

I see an unnaturally, fuller face in almost all recent pictures. I am not an expert on these things but I am assuming she has had something injected in her face or she is bloated from steroids. The problem is it has affected her eyes and they look unnaturally squinty - unless she’s had a bad eye job as well like her friend Courtney. Let’s face it, the ones who age well - no matter how many lines they have on their face - are the ones with great facial bone structure. Sadly Aniston ain’t got the bones.

Since she was named as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador in early 2001, Angelina Jolie has visited more than 20 countries around the world to highlight the plight of millions of uprooted people and to advocate for their protection. She has managed to do all this while pursuing a busy acting career and bringing up her children.

Her interest in humanitarian affairs was piqued in 2000 when she went to Cambodia to film the adventure film, Tomb Raider. Her interest and determination to help the displaced, publicize their plight and lobby for international assistance has never flagged.

After Jolie’s recent trip to Afghanistan at the end of 2008, the Oscar-winning American actress appealed for more international commitment to help returnee reintegration and urged greater humanitarian support for the population.

“The courage, resilience and quiet dignity of returnee families rebuilding their lives against the kind of adversity few of us can imagine show the human spirit at its best,” she said after spending part of her time in eastern Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province, where almost 850,000, or 20 percent, of all Afghan returnees have repatriated since 2002.

When travelling to Sudan and Chad in early 2007, Jolie was so struck by what she had seen that she and her partner, actor Brad Pitt, donated US$1 million to be shared by UNHCR and two other agencies for their work in helping millions of people affected by the crisis in Sudan’s Darfur region.

“It’s always hard to see decent people, families, living in such difficult conditions,” she said at the time, while adding that she was also struck by the sense of hope she encountered. Jolie called on the international community to do more to help the displaced and needy, just as she did when visiting Syria and Iraq in August 2008 to draw attention to the humanitarian crisis and raise support for UNHCR and its partners.

I just got a very pleasant surprise. My favorite TV is one I bought a few years ago for my office. It is small (20″) but it has built-in DVD and Video machines which I needed. I loved it so much it never made it to my office but I never hooked it up to cable. It’s not digital and I didn’t use it to watch TV until recently. Well, of course, I had to get a digital converter box for it if I wanted to continue using it to watch TV.

My digital box hooked up in about 15 seconds. It took no time to scan for all the channels and the first thing that was on was . . . the e-squared production (PBS) of the Brad Pitt narrated Lower Ninth Ward show. It’s very interesting and it really showcases the people involved in the rebuilding and the strength of the community. The houses look just beautiful. And Brad’s voice is very soothing and yet exciting. LOL!

Oh, goodie. Another Brad Pitt narrrated show on E Squared. It’s about Holland. I am just chucking it in as far as work goes today. I love all this design stuff.

It is a rerun I think. Ellen is on break. Her shows this week are all old, so I figure the ones next week are too. Brad is due to start Moneyball soon if not already. He will have to take time off in August to do more PR for IB.. so it may be a while before we see them. Angie is due in Washington on the 17th or 18th (next week). We will I hope see thread for her then. But if Brad and the family are in CA. right now, I don’t expect to see them much at all. We very seldom see pic of them in CA.. I wonder if they are in a different house and not their home.. Los Feliz..
