OlderShia LaBeouf Has Watched His Parents Have Sex
Shia LaBeouf covers the latest issue of Parade magazine, where writer Dotson Rader describes the 23-year-old Transformers actor as “foul-mouthed, resentful, funny, prickly, quick-witted, and charming — a package of contradictions.” Interview highlights below:
On where he gets his humor from: “[From] seeing my parents have sex, smoke weed, my mom being naked … [and] twisted R-rated humor.”
On the breakup from his longtime girlfriend China Brezner of three years: “The good actors are all screwed up. They’re all in pain. It’s a profession of bottom-feeders and heartbroken people. Maybe it was career pressure. … Maybe I chose work. Every man has those feelings of escape and survival. I know you shouldn’t be that way. I’m trying to understand it and find the answers. I don’t have them now. Why did the love of my life and I break up? … Man, I have no idea. What was that all about? I have no answers to anything. None. Why am I an alcoholic? I haven’t a damn clue! What is life about? I don’t know.”
On living his life: “Sometimes I feel I’m living a meaningless life and I get frightened. I know I’m one of the luckiest dudes in America right now. I have a great house. My parents don’t have to work. I’ve got money. I’m famous. But it could all change, man. It could go away. You never know.”
On being aware of how easy it is to be overwhelmed by a skyrocketing career: “I don’t handle fame well. Most actors on most days don’t think they’re worthy. I have no idea where this insecurity comes from, but it’s a God-sized hole. If I knew, I’d fill it, and I’d be on my way.”

For the love of god, why is this guy famous? My theory is that he has some connections w/ a production company that pull strings for him….but why i am not sure. Nepotism perhaps?

The company you keep during the empty moments is hard at first, but without seeking those moments the shadows never shrink. One thing I respect about you is your ability to be human, to show your good, your bad, and those parts of you that you really don’t even want to see yourself. Can your career go tomorrow? Yeah, but nobody can take away what you have learned, what you have become as a man, as a human. It’s not what you do or how you do it, but what drives you to do it that matters.

Did Shia make a deal with the devil or something by the way he is greedy and the way he mocks Christianity? Most of these famous surpefical actors do make a deal with the devil. Sad how Shia has changed and said that he is greedy now and some other s**t in this parade article. This guy, Shia is utter rubbish all the way!!!
I don’t think Shia’s headed for a breakdown, not on the scale of Lindsay or Britney for sure. At least he admits he’s insecure and unsure about fame. I think he’s funny, talented, charming, and seems like a good guy. He seems to have the right attitude. Oh and alcoholism is a disease whoever posted that stupid ” you’re an alcoholic because you drink stupid bit”, it’s inherited by the way. Nope I think Shia’s doing just fine, that accident he had while drinking the damn car HIT HIM, not the other way around. Oh, and with a crushed hand, ripped up knee he still managed to drag his co-star Isabel Lucas out of the car to get HER help. He’s gutsy too and chivalrous, not to mention adorable. Don’t pick on SHIA!

@Topi: omg you mean shia isn’t perfect? he has problems? he’s been hurt people, and he’s right about the heartbroken actor thing, the more emotions one feels in their life, and the deeper they are, the easier it is to act, because you can pull those feelings out like money in your wallet, figuratively speaking. maybe in shia’s wallet. haha no pun. actually i intended that pun. you can stop reading now i’m ranting.
@Rebecca: god that is so ignorant. that doesn’t answer the question. he’s admitting he has a problem which is brave for one, and two it’s an addiction, look it up. i think you need to understand how to love and not judge. it will get you really far in life i promise. you have a lot of pride which is just as bad as alcoholism. it will consume you. but your blind to that, at least shia knows he has a problem. but i think he will be ok, he’s grounded, and he’s not stupid, if people say he will fail then in their eyes, he’ll never get better. but if all have faith that he can pull through whatever he’s going through, then every good thing he does will be celebrated, we can’t just focus on the bad. if you were to have everything bad you’ve ever done in your life exploited, you’d probably sem like an ******* too. man, i feel like hugging this kid not critisizing. you should work on that, it will make you feel good i promise.
