Cougars Love Adam Lambert!

Newsweek’s Joan Raymond gives a lengthy explanation as to why cougars (older women seeking younger men) love American Idol glam rocker Adam Lambert. Here are two choice paragraphs from the article:

“In terms of biology, Adam Lambert’s attractiveness is kind of bizarre. Some research shows that women like square jaws and deep brows—iconic masculine traits—when they’re looking for a fling. But we like more feminine traits when we’re looking for The One, the long-term mate. Lambert has a little bit of both going on for him, as anyone who saw his version of Led Zeppelin’s ‘Whole Lotta Love’ can attest.

“It may also go back to our childhood, as all things psychoanalytic seem to do. According to [psychoanalyst Dr. Gail Saltz], buried deep inside all of us is the childhood desire to be able to have everything and anything, whenever you want. So part of our fascination with Mr. Lambert is that we may want to be like him. ‘[Lambert] is the poster child for having it all,’ says Saltz. ‘Men want him, women want him, and that ambiguity is as hot as hell.’”

i’m 16 years old and i am ridiculously obsessed with adam, especially his looks! i think that his homosexuality attracts me more to him because it is as if he is forbidden fruit… and you know he’d be a pretty wild partner!

what i like about Adam is he is who he is and he doesn’t apologise for it! (not that there is any reason to) he is confident, talented and a genuine person. he had dreams and ambition and he’s being recognized for it now due to his stint on AI. i cannot wait for his album!

I am wondering if he is honestly gay or just confused because of his past childhood complexes. Seems like he would be interested in women as he is talking about bi-curious, now today he talks about maybe one day having kids - (smh) - is he fooling himself or the public (the young girls who want to throw themselves at him) - maybe he is trying to protect himself from the rush - but then again - seems like he would make out with a girl under the influence of alcohol - then he is truly gay because he cannot make out with a level head - some kind of substance has to be involved for him to makeout with a female and that is sad. Then all you chicks who are drooling and wishing and hoping - is that what you want to be used in that way?
