Gerard Butler puts his hands up on his hips (because when he dips, you dip, we dip) as he shoots his new movie, Bounty Hunter, in Brooklyn, New York City on Monday morning (June 15).
The 39-year-old Scottish stud saw The Hangover earlier this month and told NYMag:“I’ve got to tell you, it was kind of crazy, but a lot of the stuff that happened in that movie I’ve been through myself. That sounds like a huge exaggeration, but it’s really not.”
He also explained he’s never been to a bachelor party that was not bacchanalian: “They just don’t want to face it. But if they were honest with themselves, they’d go, ‘Oh, you know what? They were f—ing chickens.’ That’s why the chicken was in the movie, by the way. They couldn’t go that far, but I have no doubt they were f—ing chickens. (pauses) My career just went down the tubes, eh?”

I agree with Candy, Gerald looks like he doesn’t bathe, like he put on the same clothes the day after a rough party night. There something about him that looks grungy, like he would smell like B.O. And he looks much older than 39, more like 49, bet you he shaved off a few years off his actor’s biography age. If that’s not the case, yikes, he’ll look rough at 49, won’t age well.
He used to have major bags under his eyes, so looks like he got that taken care of. He must have recently had a little nip-tuck around the eyes or used the frozen juice to eliminate that. IMO his better days were in 300, since then he looks unkept and rough, think Gerry is a partyboy and it catches up with him, he often looks like he hasn’t slept in ages. Well if Gerry likes Mary-Jane, he should become fast friends with Jennifer Aniston who has been known to love MJ lots!

This movie looks horrible. Jennifer is “Rachael” in every movie and Gerry’s acting consist of heavy breathing and the same 3 expressions. His looks are fading and his American accent is painful to watch. He is becoming as big of a pap and PR joke as Aniston already is and he can’t seem to keep his foot out of his mouth. The two of them together is just going to be a trainwreck. I will be skipping this movie.

Wasn’t sure I should post my thoughts on GB’s palm but swannie asked, so here it is.
Saw the photo with GB’s right hand held up. I’ve seen the left before but it’s best to read the hand that is dominant. I think GB is a righty. So…
His heart line rises between his middle and pointer finger which indicates a gregarious, affectionate nature. I think he’s a cuddler- really. He likes to pursue more than being pursued by others. If you want him, be cool, he’ll come get you. Overtly aggressive people/ women will turn him off!!!!
Now the big one- and why I hesitated to write- if I’m seeing it clearly GB has a line off his heart line going under his pointer finger. This indicates…possible bi-sexuality. But that’s the classic interpretation. Most people now see it as a sign of emotional dexterity. He can be passive, allowing and LIKES to have someone take the lead so to speak. It’s a contradiction, which is why it can be interpreted as bi. I believe he is completely straight (it’s got to be girly) but if he feels safe, a partner could be pushy and a little domineering.

The Calvin Klein thing was apparently one of several aftershows of that award show. Since he was filming late yesterday he probably didn’t make it to the award show in time and only went to the party.
The Calvin Klein thing is a separate event. This is the “last gasp” for the social season in NY. Lots of events before everyone heads off for summer.

Isn’t it strange that this ‘B-list’ actor {as some describe him} draws so much interest on this and other boards? And, he gets ‘Most attractive male’ in Hello magazine for April? That poll is voted on by the public and kicked off a frenzy which had more votes than usual cast for that specific poll. Splain that one, Lucy! (If he’s such a loser in your eyes.) And don’t say Gals did it. There are not enough of them in numbers to impact an entire world-wide poll. Whatever it is, GB is definitely a hot commodity right now.
And remember, you naysayers, your posts are counting just as much toward his popularity as those of us who support him.

PFAN - Hello Magazine is a British tabloid that most don’t even know exist. GALS and other fansites had a full on assault on this poll. They had people voting every 10 min (or whatever the time limit was on the poll) around the clock. They kept track of where he was and talked about it incessantly. There were people who said that they had logged on and voted all day throughout the day. How pathetic is that? They were probably on the job while doing it. So don’t talk about things that you don’t know. How do I know this? I read it on GALS. I have been a member for years and have seen how crazy some of these fans are. I have since stopped posting there and now only go there occasionally for news. I am a fan — but not an obsessed one. You should try it. You might find yourself a life.

Pafan, he is not well known by the masses. Most people don’t know the name of “the guy in 300. BTW did you ever think that it isn’t HIM who is so interesting on these sites, but his loopy fans? Most journalists have covered the fansanity and it gets more and more entertaining - like the latest loopy lunatics wanting to read his palms from photos. If you stepped away from your computers a little you’d see how mad that looks to the rest of the world. Everyone is having a good laugh about it and it is NOT helping make your idol respected by the industry. What they have to pay for extra security to protect him from you while he’s filming makes him an “added expense” they don’t need.. They don’t like paying extra to protect a B-lister who isn’t bringing in the box office. So all the organized stalking isn’t helping him.

#152: I think you hit the nail on the head. This so called “publicity” on sites like this only make him look like an idiot. It doesn’t help his career at all. What counts is the money at the box office.
And to these lunatic stalkers who say he’s been so nice and funny to them when they haunted him on set the other day: of course he had to accomodate you with dozens of peple around watching. What else could he have done? If he hadn’ t walked over everyone would have said he was **** ignoring his fans. But that doesn’t mean he liked it at all. I bet he was embarassed as hell knowing that his crew would be teasing him about his fangurls afterwards. When will you finally realize you’re not doing this guy a favor with set visits and pathetic posts? And don’t even get me started on that manipulated vote. If you all love that guy so much, then let him be and buy tickets to his movies. That’s how you can really help him.
I too read the GB threads - not for Mr. Butler himself , but because it is the most entertaining cyber soap of them all and the best thing on JJ! The demented and loopy fangurls v the rest of the world, all out there to protect their idol.
I am sure that years ago, GB’s team looked at the options and decided that they could launch him from being an interesting new actor to an A list celebrity (with all that that might bring for GB) and realised that in an internet age when the whispers online and the power of a thousand blog sites, that the fans and the detractors could do, for nothing, what millions of dollars might not achieve in PR hours and old fashoned publicity. We are in an age of internet stars, nobodies who become famous just for being famous, where talent is secondary and celebrity is all.
I guess, IMO, that somewhere along the way, GB lost track of what is fantasy or reality to him - and gave up ‘his joy of acting’ to do a raft of dreadful Hollywood pap! - but nevertheless, he gets his money, all the benefits, and the attention which he surely does crave - so he may have achieved what he needs in his life anyway.
But watching the whole show on JJ and the numerous other sites has to be the best giggle in town - he always seems on a precipice of near disaster - lurching from on idiotic gaff to the next daft moment, saved each time by the attentions of the loopy fangurls - when you hear that they manipulate popularity polls, even now intend to raise the money to fund his movies (’Burns’ in the UK), as well as the nausiating conventions, planting forests in his honour, and fangurl tours to wherever he might be, and the fact that they like to be known as Gerry Butler’s ‘tarts’ (something to do with tartan I suppose) - its all to funny. SO, I’m here not for the man himself, but to watch the show - long may it continue, the biggest laugh on the web.
PS: JJ, a suggestion, could we have a theme for the GB threads - TMZ has their own little song for him - I am sure that you could create something? It would be so cool!
I absolutely agree with you. This is probably the best show on JJ, LOL. Even when Butler actually manages not to make a fool of himself, his fans will. I guess nobody would talk in these threads about completely boring pictures if it wasn’t for the fight between the fangurls and the haters.
And the most hilarious thing is, as someone has mentioned along the lines, these fans are always telling people here who only TALK about him to leave him alone and that his life was none of their business. Yet these very fangurls are the ones who actually STALK him, disturb him at work and get on his nerves with enforced conversations and picture taking. So who really needs to leave this man alone, I wonder?

Man oh man, I swore I would give up posting, especially since there is nothing new. But I can’t help a peek after a month away. #155 and #156, you are right on. It’s been a puzzle to me all along why an actor who hasn’t seemed to pay his acting dues in Hollywood suddenly had this crazy rush to celebrity. I always said it was a hardcore PR campaign to create a star out of marshmallow fluff and the 300 muscles that no longer exist. Brad Pitt didn’t rise that fast. I find it funny that Butler confessed somewhere to having “media training” because of his outrageous stupid quotes, wondered about that since this man who has been touted as so well educated and highly intelligent seems to blurt out stupidity and gross comments and put his foot in his mouth at every opportunity and I just didn’t get it. Where is the brainy guy who talks about his soul so much? Where is his soul? This doesn’t mean he isn’t an attractive man, fangurls. But he seems not to have learned yet that with all our espousing of freedom, Americans are a conservative lot. What we tolerate and what we actually respect are two different things. Right now I’m scheming about how I can get my 15 minutes of fame and a pocket of $millions for doing something outrageous and as little as some big stars do to get media coverage.
Incidentally, the appropriate punishment for men who f… chickens (:)) if that is even physically possible, which I doubt, would be to get f…d by a drunken bull elephant at an elephant bachelor party. Now there’s a story!
Guess this thread is dead. Normally, when I am the last comment on a thread, I don’t add. Just want you to know, fangurls, if you come back here, I ain’t an enemy. GB is still a very good lookin’ dude, aging well. Hey, if any of us had that many photos snapped in all kinds of conditions, we’d be lucky to get 1% good. I also think he’s a good person at heart. Just seemingly carried away by fame and fortune, which is distressing, because some of us expected more of him.
