Chastity Bono & Jennifer Elia: Wellness Couple
Chastity Bono, who is in the process of transitioning from a female to a male, is spotted out and about Los Angeles with girlfriend Jennifer Elia on Monday (June 15).
On Tuesday (June 16), the 40-year-old daughter of Cher, who wants to become Chaz Bono, was also spotted entering a personalized wellness center.
GLAAD recently released a statement “both for him personally and for all who are committed to advancing discussions about fairness and equality for transgender people.”
The news of Chaz’s gender reassignment process broke last week.

I agree with some others, Chasitity should be thinking more about her HEALTH. She is overweight and hormones will only add the pounds. She obviously has esteem issues, with Cher as a mother I wouldn’t be surprised if some of this has to do with her relationship with her mother. What were the chances of her getting a MALE date when she was a teenager that was interested in HER and not her mother? People are sometimes shaped by their environment. Smarter people than I am have said that.
In any event I guess the doctors who decided she was ready for sexual reassignment glossed out whatever deep-seated problems she might have. This is just a confusing evolution. It’s not like a woman who comes out the first time and says she has always felt like a male. This is a 40 year old woman who first said she was lesbian over 20 years ago. if she didn’t know what she was THEN , why should anyone believe that she knows what she is NOW? As far as Chaz goes, coming out isn’t an easy process, I should know! Struggling with who you are as a person isn’t a fun feeling. And then to know there are people like the majority who posted. That is why people stay closeted. That is why people don’t out and out say if they feel “trapped” in their body. Because of the gay bashing mentality that people have shown in their statements on this thread. I didn’t come out til I was 26 because of religious zealots who condemned me to hell. Forget the fact that I prayed for people who were sick, and saw them healed, or prayed for salvation of friends and family, and saw them come to the Lord.

As one other poster said, a decision like this doesn’t happen over time. No Chaz may not have expressed to the public his desire for this change, but who’s to say it wasn’t mentioned to Cher or Elijah Blue or even Jen long before his 40th birthday? Chastity was not born with a medical defect or anomoly. She is a healthy woman. She is not ugly either. She has gained a lot of weight but that is it. I disagree with surgeons preying on the insecurities and mental instability of people including women who want breast implants etc. Surgeons are making a lot of money altering people who are perfectly fine.
Also, I would investigage the parents of transgendered children a little closer for child abuse. How do we not know some crazy mother is whispering in their child’s ear, you are supposed to be a girl/or boy? How many of these kids are really victims of muncshausen by proxy???

Debi Im not going to turn this thread into a religious debate. I am simply going to say yes the bible does say that God created man and woman first. His plan was to repopulate the earth. He did that! However, if you do more than just read your bible and do some RESEARCH on biblical origins. You will learn that King James was a HOMOSEXUAL, because of the time period he was living in it was considered unnatural and he was ashamed, he was the one that added many of the “clobber” passages into the bible.
If you look at word origins and study meanings you will see that God’s true heart boils down to the fact that what is really an abomination to Him is idolatry and promiscuity. Yes, gays and lesbians alike can be promiscuous, but ya know what… so can straight people! As I stated before there is ONE unforgivable sin in the bible that is blasphemy which by definition is denying god with your lips.

This was all stuff that I needed confirmation about before my own decision to come out. I’ve heard the voice of God, I feel His presence around me in my everyday life. I have seen His Shekinah glory reign down before me. It was God who showed me the answers that I sought out,. God who spoke to me using Romans Romans 1:21-31. It was God that spoke to me telling me that for me what was “natural” for me was to be with a woman. And it is God who loves me no matter what! And it is God who I believe will welcome me into His kingdom saying “Well done good and faithful servant”. How do I know this? You ask… Because there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus, and God is not the author of confusion. The bible is right, scripture interprets scripture… It did in my case. Shock of all shocks, God even used a straight person to tell me that He saw my heart and that I needed to be true to myself and accept myself as He accepted me.
Thankfully I have a good body of believers who accept me for who I am, and don’t judge me because I am lesbian. Sad that not enough Christian’s are like that in this day and age.

He made you for a purpose, and He doesn’t make mistakes.” For the longest time I felt as though He did make a mistake placing these feelings in me.
I was never sexually molested, nor was I coddled by my mother as most would assume. If we were to use the word “normal” in reference to my childhood, yea I was a happy kid and it was your average childhood. Yes I was the product of a divorce, however. I was close equally to my dad and my step mom and my brothers and sisters as I am to my mom and my step dad. In fact, my mom and my parents and their spouses are all close. My dad and his family are Jehovah’s Witness, yet for Christmas and Thanksgiving they come over here to have dinner.
I have a job, I pay my taxes, I have a home I have my beliefs, and a relationship with the Lord. I have family and friends who love me and accept me no matter what. I have my health, and all in all I have no complaints. Except for narrow-minded intolerant, bigotry.

I still don’t understand why people should judge gender based on a biological sex of a person. Doesn’t there exist something called brain? The brain can ofcourse have a sex that does not match with the body’s sex- it’s a God’s creation though a little uncommon, and it must be respected. There is no harm in rectifying this anomaly to make life better. Not all men want to be dominant macho type and not all girls want to be submissive femme type, neither should something like this be ever expected.
yes, it’s possible for a DEPRESSED WOMAN to also opt to live in the opposite gender role. Chez may not be a man, but still it’s her decision to opt for sex change as he/she feels that will make him/her happier. So, why shouldn’t that be allowed? Why should he/she sacrifice so much for the sake of social ire? It’s not necessary that a person born in certain sex will be happy in that sex- maybe due to ttransgenderism or due to social factors. But whatever it is, is a valid decision, if taken with confidence. The world must accept that. Otherwise, it would be akin to discrimination between rich and poor or the fair and dark-skinned.
I think the main reason why Chaz is going for transition has less to do with wanting male organs or body etc. It’s mroe to do to project the self as a macho person rather than the feminine persona and that’s simpky because there is always a social demand to project oneself of either gender for every person. So, young boys act tough to show them as macho guys while girls deck up to show their femininity. Some go on fine and merrily with this fib nonsense but for some, it becomes more than a joke- it’s a serious slur on the person’s wishes. But society never listens to that. A feminine boy is ridiculed if he does not play sports while a girl is frowned at if she is rough tomboyish type (nowadays the femme man more than the boyish girl).
So, I guess, Chaz is going for this operation to project himself as the person he desires to be in his mind, the role he wants to play in the world, which happens to be male and not matching with the biological sex. There is nothing abnormal in it just because it’s uncommon. If society had allowed Chaz to adopt male role despite being in female body, such a need wouldn’t have arisen at all.
To those who say Chaz is going beyond God’s wishes, I wish to ask just one question- Do all guys enact their macho roles because they want to follow God’s desires? Or does it occur naturally?
Do girls want to be pure,soft,feminine due to God’s desire or it happens naturally to them?
If you feel the latter, then, what if the person does not experience these natural instincts as expected from him/her but naturally gets some opposite traits or desires?
How will he/she feel on being different from others? How will he/she lead a enjoyable life?
Also, if you say that this person is violating God’s will, do you all mean to say you are also subjected to such opposite sex desires, but you repress them due to God’s will? If you really don’t face these anomalies, then how do you claim to even understand the plight of the one who faces this?
