I still don’t understand why people should judge gender based on a biological sex of a person. Doesn’t there exist something called brain? The brain can ofcourse have a sex that does not match with the body’s sex- it’s a God’s creation though a little uncommon, and it must be respected. There is no harm in rectifying this anomaly to make life better. Not all men want to be dominant macho type and not all girls want to be submissive femme type, neither should something like this be ever expected.

I think the main reason why Chaz is going for transition has less to do with wanting male organs or body etc. It’s mroe to do to project the self as a macho person rather than the feminine persona and that’s simpky because there is always a social demand to project oneself of either gender for every person. So, young boys act tough to show them as macho guys while girls deck up to show their femininity. Some go on fine and merrily with this fib nonsense but for some, it becomes more than a joke- it’s a serious slur on the person’s wishes. But society never listens to that. A feminine boy is ridiculed if he does not play sports while a girl is frowned at if she is rough tomboyish type (nowadays the femme man more than the boyish girl).
So, I guess, Chaz is going for this operation to project himself as the person he desires to be in his mind, the role he wants to play in the world, which happens to be male and not matching with the biological sex. There is nothing abnormal in it just because it’s uncommon. If society had allowed Chaz to adopt male role despite being in female body, such a need wouldn’t have arisen at all.

@idiots: I feel sorry for her. How unhappy with yourself would you be to go through life hating and ignoring what you really are. God has made each of us unique and amazing. To throw part of that away because of confusion, ignorance, self loathing, or perversion is sad. You cannot change what you are by adding or subtracting a body part. Please look at the deeper issues If I said I was a “Persian architect” trapped in an americans body I would be locked up. I don’t hate her She is probably a nice person. Lets look at the truth and know she is a woman that had an operation. All the particulars I do not know. We are all looking for happiness, to fit in, to live our destiny. You must be whole and happy inside first the only place I have found that is in Christ Jesus.

Chastity Bono looks grotesque. Cher must be mortified. All the so called “gender reassignment” in the world cannot change her DNA. She remains a female with XX sex chromosones. To be a male she would need to have XY sex chromosones, a feat which she will never accomplish. Why is she being referred to as “he” in the print media when she will always be female?
