One the the losers on that site actually stole these pictures from Lana’s myspace and bragged about sending them to multiple sites including JustJared. A bunch of losers who need to get a life. David, you should use your down time to write some better songs than you put on your last record and stop chasing ****** women. Take some songwriting lessons and/or read some books by the pros. The songs on your CD are duller than a bread knife. Jimmy Webb wrote a great book. McCartney isn’t giving free songwriting lessons to American Idol winners anytime soon. He earned the title of the most famous musician in the world without ever claiming that was his goal or acknowledging that he had achieved it.

If you sign up for that site you should be aware that she does not respect the privacy of her members. On several occasions she has revealed the locations of her posters. I think that is highly unprofessional of her. Also the way she allowed a member, Celine, to carry on with her delusional rants for as long as she did seems very irresponsible to me. I am glad to see that she finally deleted that thread but she should have slapped a FanFic label on it in the first place.

Jillian, 1000 members is extremely low compared to the membership levels at other sites. Out of those 1000 members there are actually very few active posters. There rarely seems to be more than a handful of members signed on there at any time. There are many, many threads started by the Admin Holly there that have never even been posted on and many threads are inactive for long periods of time. In my opinion I think she is involved in releasing these photos and trying to make some kind of scandal out of them in a pathetic attempt to create buzz for her site and increase her membership levels. Too bad she has to stoop so low. The only thing scandalous about these photos is the fact that someone who calls herself a “fan” of David Cook would violate his privacy by obtaining these old photos from a private account and posting them in this way.

I totally agree with you Denise. I stopped posting at DCU because of violations of confidentiality. Very recently, the admin/mods even posted some of Celine’s private messages to them. I lurk only, b/c like others I am lured in by the psychosis … I have a bowl of popcorn and read away… but they were really really mean-spirited to Celine, especially that Naseeba witch that Holly adores. If Celine goes over the edge and harms David or Neal, they will have contributed to it … that’s for sure. I also agree that there’s only a handful of people who post. I won’t stoop that low, and NO I don’t think they are intelligent/smart at all … in fact, they are petty and jealous of everyone who goes near David.

It certainly appears that Lana got exactly what she wanted here - attention and free advertising. I would argue that Holly may get free advertising over the short term, but once people go over there and see that they have to put up with so much snark, mean-spirited talk, posters being confrontational with each other, no confidentiality, etc. they don’t last long. They may post a few times, and say to themselves “enough of this sh*t”, especially after they get beat up by the snakiest Dorothy Parker and Naseeba. As mentioned earlier, fewer than a dozen people are regular posters even though there may be 1,000 members. No one wants to put up with personal attacks and cruelty for long.

Holly is so far from being David’s type that it is laughable to think he would want anything to do with her. He has said that one thing he does not care for is mean-spirited people. That pretty much rules out Holly and anyone else on her site that is involved with invading his privacy. She may be beautiful on the outside but that beauty goes only skin deep. Oh believe me, I was banned! I have a screenshot of my banning. Believe me I was very surprised, as although many people probably did not agree with me, many did. Basically I was logged in again yesterday after my little rant the day before, and I made a post in support of something another poster said, and all of I sudden I was banned. I logged-out and tried to log-in several times, thinking it was a mistake, but no I was definitely banned. Like I said, I love most of the posters at that site, and despite what some might say, a great deal of intelligent discussion transpires there. Like I said the David Cook HATE was not coming from the regulars, but a few new posters with obvious agendas.

suenigma, if you were banned, I’m sure it was because of that bitchy post you put on MJs blog about how you were ashamed of yourself and DCU was so horrible. A loooong post. About your newfound morality. I found it extremely hypocritical. And having someone like that as a DCU member, who is going on other boards to bash a board they are an active member of, sucks. @Gloria: I guess I’m one of the 6 new members that poster #201 was talking about. I had to see what all the fuss over DCU was about so I signed up. What a mistake. I poked around a bit over there and they do have some informative threads but the most active threads there do seem to be just about girlfriends and Kimberly Caldwell. I looked into the Del Mar concert thread because I just went to that show. Apparently you do not even need to be seen with David for some of them to jump to ridiculous conclusions. One of the posters there, bingy?, whose profile says she is 51 years old! saw these 3 cute girls talking to his manager and started going on about how the manager must definitely be hooking him up with the girls. That they were definitely there to be “candy” for the boys. I’ve never seen such a STUPID assumption in my life. I saw those girls talking to the manager and it looked to me like they might just be friends of hers because of the way she hugged them when they came in. I think it’s just awful to post accusations like that without having any facts to back it up.

The girlfriend thread is full of stuff like that too. Ridiculous assumptions based on nothing more than David being seen talking to some girl or posing for a picture with someone. I have seen enough. I will definitely NOT be going back there again.

I wonder why she would ever need the password if the photos were actually e-mailed to her. I saw the photos when they were first posted by Holly. They were linked to the private account at that time. Those photos were pulled and Holly then had to repost them hosted from her own account. If someone had emailed the photos why would they be linked from somewhere else? Your story does not add up.

i dont get what all this hype is about? why are people getting worked up over nothing? i sighned up at dcu recently just to see what kind of evil dark force it is and honestly it isnt. its just a bunch of gossip that i enjoyed reading. i enjoyed it more than all the “david is hollier than thou” bullshit on other boards. i was expecting to see the fans at dcu bashing every pretty girl david was with i was pleasently surprised to find that this wasnt the case. they actually complimented those pretty fans and encouraged david to ask someone out like them. the only people they have been negative toward are kim caldwell and lana jade. i can relate to why they do this. i have a young son who dated girls like them. those who have a certain reputation and dress like complete groupies. i always gave them a chance because i wanted to believe that there is more than meets they eye but the truth is that there isnt. if my son were dating any one like lana jade or kim id throw him out of the house because enough is enough.lol

DCU finds all the “scoop” about David Cook? More like they make it up as they go along. I feel very sorry for some of those girls that have been targeted on that site. Some very cruel things have been said about them when it appears they have done nothing more than pose for a picture with David just like any other fan. There is a reason these girls take their myspaces private. They get harassed and cyber-stalked, receive nasty messages and have DCU members trying to friend them under false pretenses to see if they can get any information out of them.

She says David Cook should be open to criticism for every little thing he does. They even made fun of him for misusing a word when he was on Larry King Live to discuss his brother’s death and the charitable work he is doing for Cancer Research. I thought he did a great job of holding it together for that interview considering the subject and came across as very articulate. So….she can dish it out(the criticism) but she can’t take it? We also PMed each other, not about her but about how disgusted we were by the awful things a few fans were saying about her and David and how they wouldn’t let it drop.

I have to confess, I was one of those naughty people who posted against Kimberly at AI, but in the beginning only. I felt bad about it and stopped posting mean things. Kim is just trying to make it in Hollywood and you have to give her mega-kudos for perseverance and lasting as long as she has! And now she has the album finally coming out, as well as the MTV show, and not to mention the jean ads. Honestly, I don’t think she’s that much of a d-Lister for David, as is often suggested at DCU.

Similar to JJ, I’m sure the same people posted repeatedly about their negative feelings towards her. In an earlier post, Holly said that a DJ in Philli rec’d a bunch of hate e-mails about Caldwell; here again I think it was the same people doing it several times. A “minority” of psycho fans like at DCU can create an awful lot of trouble.

totally agree Suzy. If one removes the “lurkers” from DCU, you are not left with many members at all. Quite a few people have a low number of posts; they come out of lurkdom occasionally, but go back into hiding. Few people want to be associated with such negativity, and only a dozen or so have hundreds of posts. A train wreck (like Celine) is a curiosity so it attracts lurkers; and similarly with David’s love life. Being curious is being human, but it’s quite a bit different than actively participating in mean-spirited and jealous behavior.

And to the poster who said she joined DCU and they are not that nasty … I would say that things have calmed down lately, because they know they are being watched, but not by David because as much as they like to fool themselves that he lurks on their board, David really doesn’t care about DCU or its crafters. They are nothing to him!

Despite my confession to having fallen prey to the siren lure of gossip at DCU, AJ and Suzy, I would just like to echo your sentiments that DC’s love life is entirely his own business. I maintain that Kimberley Caldwell and Lana Jade are both beautiful young ladies, and KC has always been very discreet and publicly respectful when it comes to DC. In addition, when Lana Jade ventured into the fray at DCU a couple of months back in order to defend herself, she represented herself with dignity and intelligence. Suffice it to say she was not accorded the same respect.

I certainly hope that the whole Brendon Urie blog story isn’t true, but even if it is, I have been in enough bad relationships myself to know that there are probably two sides to that story.

@curioso: All the reports of what “really” happened basically boil down to a fan seeing Lana hanging out by the hotel pool with some girlfriends and being seen in the same bar as David and some of his crew. David stepped out of the bar for a moment and a fan took a picture of him with one of her friends. Lana was standing on the sidewalk in the background of that picture. The person who took the picture said that either the person who took the photo from her facebook or DCU cropped her friend out of the picture making the picture look like it was just of David and Lana. That same person said that David stayed at the bar a bit longer and then left by himself. She said it did not look like Lana and David were “together” at all and Lana stayed at the bar for quite a while talking with the guys after he left. The were never seen together at any other time even though there were fans all over the place who were in town for the concert.. That is it. Holly filled in the blanks with speculation but basically there is no “story”.

It was terrible the way they treated Shannon, and that other really pretty girl with dark hair (real name unknown, DCU nicknames too despicable to repeat). I hesitated to even mention them here because they were merely two private citizens who happened to have had the audacity to be both attractive and to have had their pictures taken with David Cook. I found it horrifying and fascinating that some people at DCU felt that they had the right to criticize and judge those girls. Clearly irony is wasted at DCU.

The problem is that David may not even be dating anyone at this point. So how would you expect him to be open about it? Is he supposed to come out and make an announcement every time he meets someone or goes on a date? He WAS seen out in public with Kimberly Caldwell, holding hands, talking together, coming out of several events and restaurants together. I’ve seen the photos of that published here and at other sites. So why do you think he was hiding his relationship with her? How exactly is he supposed to be more open? And why should it be any of our business?

All we really know about Lana Jade is that he talked to her in a bar in Towson and went to a get together after that. There were other people there too but Holly only picked the photos that included David and Lana to publish. Holly tried to make a case that she was with him before that in Atlantic City but the pictures she posted as “proof” were only of Lana and her friends and she was not even at the same hotel. The Borgata was crawling with fans who were watching David’s every move and following him around the hotel but no one there ever saw him with Lana. Taking that and saying that they are dating seems a bit of a stretch to me. Maybe they are, maybe they aren’t. Maybe they are just friends. Maybe Lana knows someone from his crew. Who knows. It is all just speculation. Saying that he is “hiding” his relationship is speculation too because we don’t really even know that there is one.

Some of the “ladies” at DCU just seem determined to gossip about David and bash him no matter what. If they have nothing real to talk about(like Kimberly Caldwell) they will make something up. So if he is seen even just talking to a pretty girl they will speculate that he must be “seeing her”(what they really say is much cruder but I will not repeat it here) and try to find out who she is. For a long while Holly was even insisting that David was still “secretly” dating Kimberly based on the fact that they were never seen together after their breakup. I’m telling you it is all very nasty and somewhat delusional.

Sometimes people who attempt to reason with them are accused of being one of the “girlfriends” or one of that “girlfriends” friends. Some of them think that David or his management lurk and post there. As if he or they could really be bothered to deal with that crap. But they want to discredit opposing viewpoints. That is one of the reasons I can’t be bothered to post over there. I’m sure if I said all the things that I wanted to say I would be promptly banned.

Holly(fanforlife) mentioned her “beautiful friend below” in her post #257 in the August 13th — Philadelphia, PA thread on David-Cook.org and attached a picture at the bottom of her post. The picture seems to no longer be available but the file was named Shannon_David.jpg. If that doesn’t show up for you on the page you can rightclick the page and view source and find the file name. I have a screencap of it. So…is Shannon perhaps a “friend” that Holly has turned on? She has tried to imply that there was something between David and Shannon but the only “evidence” presented was a picture of Shannon with David that looked like a fan picture from a meet-and-greet from the American Idol Tour from last summer. The “eyewitness” accounts that were presented were all contradictory. Apparently Shannon flew in for the Niagara Falls concert and that in Holly’s delusional mind is enough to prove a relationship. Fans fly in for concerts all the time. I’m pretty sure that David is not dating all of them. But they proceeded to cyberstalk and bash the poor girl and speculate on her “relationship” based on that.
