Brad & Angelina Donate $1 Million to Aid Refugees
In support of Angelina Jolie’s eight-year relationship with the UN Refugee Agency, the Jolie-Pitt Foundation has given $1 million to help displaced people in Pakistan.
According to People, the head of the agency, António Guterres, thanked the foundation for its assistance.
Earlier this week, Angie and partner Brad Pitt donated $1 million to St. John’s Children’s Hospital for the creation of the Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Center (named after Brad’s mother) in his hometown of Springfield, MO.
On Thursday, Angie will appear on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 and join Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to talk about World Refugee Day in Washington D.C. Angie will also appear on Friday’s Today Show.

Further, I am happy to see Brad Pitt also support the arts. The art world was thrilled and encouraged by Pitt’s purchase at Basel. Large and prominant art purchases encourage others to buy and collect.

*Angie Does an PSA remembering a worthy cause and people criticizes her
*Let’s not talk about issues like their public appeareances, and other stuff about them even if they hold hands or ton, they are criticized.

Because the charities know from experience that when celebrities donate, it encourages other people to donate. Duh.

Maybe that’s why they made a big deal of it when Aniston donated her three used handbags. Like that cheapass b*tch couldn’t afford to cough up a million dollars of her own.
I don’t know if some people are just ignorant or they’ve forgotten how to use their brain. Without fail when it’s reported that the Jolie-Pitts have given to a cause SOME people either complain about how the Jolie-Pitts spend their money or say that they do not give enough. Anyone who regularly visits celebrity sites knows that they support a many causes. They have a foundation which they hope will operate far into the future. They cannot spend 5 or 10 million on every cause. Very soon the foundation would run out of money if they did that.. They do not have an endless money pit as some of you seem to believe. Besides it is unnecessary for them to completely shoulder any one cause. The beneficiaries of their goodwill, such as Pakistan, are supported by OTHER groups and people as well. As to how they spend their money, it is THEIR money.
If you HAVE to complain about the Jolie-Pitts and some of you really HAVE to, then make a legitimate complaint.

Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks were REALLY private when they dontated money on a national TV fundraiser, right after 911, I believe Julia donated 2 million (at a time she was making around 20 mil a film) . BTW most of that telethon was directed at PUBLIC AWARENESS for the need for funding. Did ALL of those stars donate?
When singers donated their “time” for the “We are the World” record years ago, only a PERCENTAGE of the PROFITS were earmarked for the charity. Instead of donating their “time” they all could have written a big fat check! Still, it was wildly publicized to raise PUBLIC AWARENESS.
The list of telethons to raise money and raise public awareness goes on and on.
You do no seem to have a problem with stars insisting that the ordinary working man or woman donate money, whether they, themselves donate or not.
So what is your problem with someone that donates directly, raises public awareness without the expense of a television production, CD production, T-shirt manufacturing etc?
Brad and Angelina took the most direct route to their goal. They dontated themselves and raised public awareness by publicizing the cause.
I respect them all the more for that. They get the job done!

Of course People Magazine keeps track of their donations because they gave them a **** load of Money that’s meant for Charity. If Angelina says the $$ is going to charity I trust that it will go to charity. Period! I think some people are pissed because Angelina has proved herself to be the REAL DEAL when it comes to her work with refugees and she’s proven that she really wants to help. someone who is a fake ass doesn’t get involved at 24 and continue her involvement consistently for the following 8 years. hate her for everything else but not her solid Humanitarian work. Solid, yo. hahah! if anyone is fake it’s brad who did not get this involved until the age of 40 something after he publicly dumped your idol he needed something for his image. peace!
