Brad & Angelina Donate $1 Million to Aid Refugees
In support of Angelina Jolie’s eight-year relationship with the UN Refugee Agency, the Jolie-Pitt Foundation has given $1 million to help displaced people in Pakistan.
According to People, the head of the agency, António Guterres, thanked the foundation for its assistance.
Earlier this week, Angie and partner Brad Pitt donated $1 million to St. John’s Children’s Hospital for the creation of the Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Center (named after Brad’s mother) in his hometown of Springfield, MO.
On Thursday, Angie will appear on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 and join Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to talk about World Refugee Day in Washington D.C. Angie will also appear on Friday’s Today Show.

Most celebrities would want to keep their donations quiet so that they don’t get every charity out there asking for handouts. Brad and Angelina are raising money for their foundation, they should announce it when money is dispersed so that people can see that the money raised is indeed going to charities. Also, I believe that it also encourages others to consider donations and it raised awareness of the cause. It’s all good, people.

I can only imagine. How much time do you spend staring at your poopon a daily basis? After all, you have nothing else interesting to do.
This is one of the reasons I admire this couple a lot, more so Angie. She never forgets the poor and their sufferings. She has made Brad a more respected and complete human being. She has a heart of gold . Angie, you are the best and God will continue to shower you and your family with love and prosperity. God bless you and keep you and your family healthy. There is no other like you. Love you.
Why all the hate??? The Jolie-Pitts are out there HELPING people. They both give their time, get their hands dirty, research and give out $$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to help those less fortunate.
Try volunteering haters, it’s a beautiful experience.
Thank you Angie and Brad.

Special Feature: Angelina Jolie-The Business of Caring
News of their largesse usually makes its way into the newspapers, and this is not so the couple can bask in our praise, but so recipient organizations can use the occasion to further publicize their causes and the plights of the people they support.
Their donations were made public to encourage others to give. It’s very simple…
Besides, it sounds like the Antonio man was the one who made it public.
Probably my last post. I have been here for awhile as a total Jolie fan. And through her celebrity status I have become a fan of Pitt’s. But not just because of their acting but their humanitarian work. But I have come to realize that to me they are humanitarians that just happen to work in the film industry for a living. I can see that the J-P’s are being viewed less and less as food for fodder for the tabloids and are being viewed more and more for all the serious work they do. Jolie has grown into a woman to be respected and its proof is that she will be viewed side by side with the Secretary of State! Pitt has grown into a man to be respected as well. Proof of that was President Obama welcoming him into the White House. So somehow all this arguing between stranger just doesn’t seem so worth it anymore. The Jolie-Pitt ’s are are the real deal and should be treated as such.
Great role models for Hollywood.More power to Brad and Angelina in all their endeavors.
Anyone who thinks “most celebrities” keep their donations private is seriously deluding themselves. They ALL release their donations to the press. That’s if they even bother to donate rather than just showing up to formal dinners and calling their per plate fee their “support” of a charity.
@a total fan:
So true. That’s why the trolls should be ridiculed and made fun of. They are becoming more and more irrelevant in their and b*tching and whining. Just as much as X is.
Goodnight guys. Tomorrow night is the “BIG” night. Can’t wait.

She actually FINACIALLY supported ALL of them?
Or did she publicly endorse them? What were her donations? How Much MONEY?
Anyone can “support” something. I do know for a fact that she DID donate a used handbag. I also know that if you spend YOUR cash on HER brand of water, pennies got to some charity while she gets most of the profits. Oh and she publicized narrating a book with her father for charity….so she errrr actully can read!
You see the difference is, one can trace the FUNDING and the time and effort that the JPs give to the organizations they “support”.
Brad Pitt supports:
•African Children’s Choir
•Alliance For The Lost Boys
•Ante Up For Africa
•Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of Canada

The site you quoted has no record of her doing anything other than slapping her ugly mug on a poster for a cause.

You can print a whole book if you like, but the fact remains, your idol is fake, she never donates cash, her donations are either used battered bags, old used dresses or few hours for cancer here and there. She keeps her $100m plus to herself and has never visited poor areas/countries where these poor people live. There is no comparison with Angie, Angie talks and walks the lot . She is amazing and that is why trolls like you are so jealous of the love and admirations she gets. People are not as stupid as the trolls, the world can tell the difference between genuine kindness, kindness from the heart and fake publicity not so into charity ones. Angie has been doing this for almost 10yrs, from her twenties. You can’t get a much kinder heart than Angie. She is an inspiration to me and millions of others. YOU CAN’T CHANGE THAT WITH YOUR HATE!!.

There’s another saying, “Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth!”
I doubt any of the people you listed has a foundation. When you start a foundation and run it well, you can give regularly for a long time, and whatever a foundation gives becomes public knowledge.
No matter how the troll reason out. Angelina is still the better person than their stingy, selfish, self absorbed, shallow buddy, not charity believer aging idol.

So? They could live the shallow, self-absorbed Hollywood life, and not start a foundation, and not donate anything. They could spend all their money on expensive art, but they also want to donate. Of course all people like you do is criticize.

Thank you ebmo for posting the list of Angie’s charities. Stupid Jasmine needs facts and should be stopped from posting her fake list on Angie’s thread. It is about Angie and Brad and not about maniston.

Hillary Clinton fractures elbow in fall
WASHINGTON (AP) — Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton fractured her right elbow during a fall Wednesday, her chief of staff said.
Clinton was on her way to the White House when she fell and injured her elbow, chief of staff Cheryl Mills said in a statement released late Wednesday.
Clinton was treated at The George Washington University Hospital, just a few blocks from State Department headquarters, before going home. She will undergo surgery to repair her elbow in the coming week, Mills said.
“Secretary Clinton appreciates the professionalism and kindness she received from the medical team who treated her this evening and looks forward to resuming her full schedule soon,” Mills said.
Clinton had been scheduled to join actress Angelina Jolie on Thursday morning at a Washington event marking World Refugee Day. That event has been removed from Clinton’s public schedule.

The people who have started foundations normally announce their donations, and they want to and have to donate regularly. People who donate quietly are not required to donate every year.

Pithy! lol
@set:
Please read closely…
This is NOT old news… this is different than the $1 million they contributed to earlier this week for the hospital. How much have you contributed beside negative comments?
Can’t stand when people are so negative about someone doing something positive. They are a great example for American people, and we need that.
yada, yada, you already told this us Jared. how much ass kissing are you gonna give to this couple just because the charaties they do are always publicized?
38 jasmine @ 06/17/2009 at 11:01 pm #35 dianad1968:
Why? It’s just my opinion. Why does it bother you so?
——-
You are ignorant, and your post sounds like a criticism. If you don’t know why people do what they do, find out! DON’T CRITICIZE! ASK!
I find all the critisizm towards those who are donating their time and money towards those in need rather alarming and hateful. I believe the men, women and children who this money will go to benefit do not care where or who this money is coming from, as long as they receive the help and aid they desperately need. I do not believe the refugees are looking a gift horse in the mouth. This does make me proud to be a fan of the Jolie-Pitts.
On a side note, I’m new to posting, but have enjoyed lurking over many of guli’s posts in the past. Hope everything goes well in your surgery and you’re feeling good and back to posting soon!
Wish Hillary a speedy recovery.
