PETA Slams Barack Obama For Killing A Fly
President Barack Obama reflected on what fatherhood means to him and wrote down his thoughts. Read his original piece at Parade.com.
On Tuesday, a fly intruded during Obama’s interview with CNBC correspondent John Harwood at the White House. Obama swatted the fly and PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is not happy, so they sent him a Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher, a device that allows users to trap a house fly and then release it outside.
“We support compassion even for the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals,” PETA spokesman Bruce Friedrich said Wednesday. “We believe that people, where they can be compassionate, should be, for all animals.”

PETA is stupid, flies carry disease like oh say Malaria. They’re filthy and they’re also an INSECT not an ANIMAL. They need to go spray Kanye West with all those furs he wears instead of picking on the President.

i respect lives. to be honest, i’d do my best to capture and release insects so i don’t have to kill them, mainly for religious reasons.
but i have to admit that PETA sounds ridiculous to me. i’d have more respect for them and see them as less hypocritical if they make similar statements like this about wars in Iraq and the genocide in Darfur. where is the compassion when things do matter?
Now PETA is making themselves irrelevant and ridiculous.
What’s next…persecuting people who sell antibiotics. I mean, Strep and Pnuemococci are living organisms too! Hell, why not protest chemotherapy and radiation! Cancer is a growing living proliferating cell mass. Why should it be allowed to be destroyed just to save a human life?? And don’t even get me started on the termite haters….
So yeah PETA…..keep going after the fly swatters.

i can’t belive that beta spends millions & millions of dollars to save animals and flies while there are millions of children dying in palestine and iraq and that beta doesn’t bother her self sending a dollar to those poor humans there are so many miserable people on earth but unfortunatlly rich people care about less important things
Stupidity like this completely undermines anything PETA ever hopes to achieve. There’s a little thing in life known as ‘picking and chosing your battles’ and it’s vital for success. I’m sure there is an agenda here as this rediculousness was even on CNN (which is pretty laughable anyway), I’m sure the point is something to the effect of ‘Obama isn’t the man you think he is’. Completely stupid for him to be held to these immortal standards. Obama is a human being who does the same things we do and is annoyed by the same pesky insects EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US kills. Yes, I’m sure that includes PETA members who have nothing better to do than get their name in the paper. Yawn. Next.

Is this a joke? Even PETA can’t slide this LOW - Blasting the President of the United States for KILLING a fly - MY GOD! THAT MAKES ME A MASS MURDERER! For all these years I’ve been swatting flies rather than making them my friends… I cringe wondering about the number of flies I’ve apparently murdered & yet, so have countless other people.

Tell us PETA… What’s your stand on mosquitoes? Let me assure you guys - I LOVE bumblebees! And if they stay still long enough, I’ll gently stroke their soft, hairy bodies before they fly off to another flower. Such gentle insects too - Unlike some people.
