Brad Pitt is a “Must Bastard”

Brad Pitt is a “Must Bastard”

Brad Pitt takes his motorcycle for a spin in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon (June 19).

The 45-year-old actor and director Quentin Tarantino are dubbed the “Must Bastards” in Entertainment Weekly’s Must-List Issue. The pair join forces for the hotly anticipated World War II revenge fantasy Inglourious Basterds.

Brad has worked with some major directors— David Fincher, Terrence Malick, the Coen brothers – and he knows it.

“I’m a director whore, it’s true,” he says. The movie has been described as “kosher porn,” seeing as it is a revenge fantasy about Jewish-American soldiers. “But there is an aspect of a wish-fulfillment fantasy to the film, for lack of better words,” says Quentin. “Taking down Hitler and destroying the Third Reich—we’ve all had those fantasies.”

Brad Pitt sneaks in motorcycle ride with the world watching
June 20th, 2009
Its not an unusual scenario.

The wife and kids are away on a little getaway giving a perfect opportunity to sneak in a little saddle time and take a quick motorcycle ride.

Nothing to make headlines or have a riders picture appear in the gossip columns, unless you happen to be Brad Pitt and your other half is Angelina Jolie touring the country to talk about World Refugee Day.

What should have been a quiet ride on a favorite motorcycle turned into a paparazzi-fest of photos of Brad Pitt when the star went for a ride on Thursday around Los Angeles.

Pitt’s favored motorcycle while in Europe tends to be a Ducati and as seen in the most recent pictures, its a custom chopper for his time in the United States.

Although not much is known about Brad Pitt’s motorcycle collection, he has been seen on at least three different bobber-style custom bikes. He is also a fan of performance racing, taking his young son to a MotoGP race while vacationing in Italy last year.

Interestingly, aside from worldwide attention and photograph chasing paparazzi, the recent ride by Brad could be considered pretty typical. Apparently starting with a light leather jacket, it was soon abandoned as the day warmed up.

Thank god Brad Grey is still CEO of Paramount, Plan B is fine.

Thank You, Angelina Jolie

Today, June 20, is World Refugee Day. In most years, most of us may not have thought much about it. This year, we cannot afford to ignore it.

Hollywood power-couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who are also UNHCR goodwill ambassadors and longtime friends of humanitarian causes worldwide, including in Pakistan, just announced a US$ 1 million donation to assist displaced Pakistanis.
As Pakistanis we thank them for this generous gesture. As Pakistanis let us also view this as a reminder of our own responsibilities to reach out to and assist our own.

Readers at ATP have already been extremely generous in this regards. In our last campaign (last month) readers raised US$ 4,780 from direct donations. On our part, we had added another US$ 2,220 to that to make it a round US$7,000 (Pak Rs. 560,000). Of this, two tranches of donation were already given - to the Edhi group in Pakistan and directly to UNHCR. A third tranche is now being sent - again, evenly distribted between the Edhi group and UNHCR. This means that the funds donated till now have been evenly given to these two.

We are starting a short campaign again today (we will keep this open for only a few days) and hope that our readers will again show their generous spirit to whatever extent that can. We remain committed to add to whatever is raised from our own advertising revenue. As before, it does not matter how much you can give, what you give, how you give, or even where you give - if you find our widget useful give here, if you can give directly to the many many worthy organizations that are doing extremely good work. But do please remember to give. These IDPs (internally displaced people) are Pakistanis who were at the frontline of a battle that all of us are fighting. Their sacrifices are for all of us, and we all must demonstrate this in whatever way we can.

Pakistan has been at the epicenter of the global refugee crisis for decades now. And with over 2 million Pakistanis displaced in their own country becasue of the havoc wrecked in the Swat region, the global refugee crisis is even more local to Pakistan than it has been before.

Thank you, Angelina Jolie. For keeping this issue alive in the international media. Thank you, for making your donation at the right time - a time when attention had just begun to be diverted. Thank you, for reminding all of us - Pakistani or not - that this is a human crisis before it is a national crisis. Even as our Pakistani heartstrings are pulled by the plight of the Swat IDPs because they are our own, let us never forget the most important lesson of all - they, and all of us, are humans before we are anything else. Thank you, Angelina Jolie, for that reminder.

There are so many wonderful things that Angie does that do not get publicized.

Liz is the 26 year old wife of David Flowers, who was wounded when he stepped on a landmine in Afghanistan on May 11. He is currently being treated at Walter Reed in DC.

Liz has a blog. She has a post that describes one of the many things that Angie did while she was in DC this week.

I slept in while Mom and Granny spent time with Dave. He had PT at 1:30 and right before he scooted off one of the nurses told him to wait that a “distinguished guest” was about to arrive. It was Angelina Jolie! She spent about 20 minutes talking with Dave and taking pictures! Then after she left the liaison came around and handed out gift bags signed by her with a gift card to Best Buy worth $1,000!

http://ward57.blogspot.com/

One of the posters at the new Pitt & Jolie blog said that Angie “visited a bunch of wounded soldiers while she was there. She made a bunch of new fans. Including me.”

######################

Thanks for finding this.
.
I am not surprised at all by this. She is a remarkable young woman.

Jen is strutting tin foil, Jen is giving a tasteless ‘poor me’ speech, Jen is going out for a PR dinner, Jen had a moisturizing facial for her dry nose and CHIN and Jen is bedding a new Brad………

Now trolls, compare it to Angie’s week!!! And you still want to mention their names in a comparitive manner……….what an effing joke. These women are polar opposites. Boy, did Brad P. trade up or what??

BTW, Angie going to the hospital would have never been known had it not been for the recipient’s wife speaking out.. I can only imagine what else we don’t know in terms of her giving………..

And we don’t even know their entree choices when Angie and Brad go out for dinner……….imagine that. So trolls, who is the media hound??

Movie moguls bank on Tarantino to save fortunes of ailing studio

The Weinstein brothers now desperately need a box-office smash to save their company
Sunday, 21 June 2009

They have been the godfathers of independent movie-making for decades. With a string of memorable hits behind them such as Pulp Fiction and Shakespeare in Love, Harvey and Bob Weinstein have long been at the top of Hollywood’s power elite.

But the admired film moguls now appear to be standing on the brink of disaster as rumours swirl that their studio, the Weinstein Company, is teetering on the edge of financial collapse. Taking into account the company’s large debts and a string of box-office flops, many Hollywood insiders believe the long era of the Weinstein brothers as a major force is over.
Their hopes for survival appear to rest on an old and familiar face: director Quentin Tarantino. If his latest film, the controversial Inglourious ********, proves a mega-hit, it could save the company, just as his earlier smash, Pulp Fiction, saved the Weinsteins’ first firm, Miramax, from going over the edge in the 1990s.

“They have always been the cats with nine lives. They have always walked right up to the brink and always managed to pull off a piece of magic,” said Sharon Waxman, founder of movie news website The Wrap and author of a book about Hollywood mavericks, Rebels on the Backlot. “Anything can happen,” she added.

But there appears to be no guarantee of survival for the men who helped shape modern movie-going. The Weinstein Company, which was behind last year’s Oscar-winning film The Reader, has insisted it is still in good financial shape and is gearing up for a series of new releases.

But a recent run of bad news surrounding the company has set Hollywood gossiping about its problems. Waxman said that the situation has become so acute other companies dealing with the studio are asking to be paid in advance.

Certainly the firm is showing signs of trouble. At the end of last year it laid off 11% of its workforce. A month later an investment group, Fidelity, marked down the value of its shares in the company by 25%.

This month the Weinstein Company hired financial advisers Miller Buckfire, and the Weinsteins issued a statement saying the firm would “help us navigate through this economic climate”. But Miller Buckfire is primarily known for restructuring deeply troubled outfits. “I think the company is in big trouble,” said Waxman.

The Weinsteins’ troubles are twofold. First, independent movie companies all over America are suffering a serious downturn as audiences snub their productions and major studios concentrate on churning out blockbusting franchise films. Second, the studio appears to have had a run of bad choices. The company was set up to produce genre films, such as horror flicks, that would earn enough money to finance quality pieces such as The Reader. But in recent years neither side of the business has scored many hits. “The problem is nothing has worked. The lowbrow has not worked, the highbrow has not worked,” said Waxman.

Tongues are now wagging about Weinstein films having their release dates pushed back, because the company supposedly does not have the money to market them. All Good Things, with Ryan Gosling, has had its July release shelved. Shanghai, a thriller set in the 1940s, has been pushed back from September to October. Other projects are still sitting on the shelf.

When Harvey Weinstein put his Manhattan apartment up for sale recently it was portrayed in the New York tabloids as a desperate attempt to raise cash to market Tarantino’s new second world war epic properly.

Indeed, it is with Tarantino, and the upcoming Rob Zombie gore-fest, Halloween II, that many believe the company’s hopes lie. Both films are being released in August and the Weinsteins desperately need them to score big at the box office. “My sources say August could be the cruellest month for them. Everything depends on these two movies. Both are crucial to their survival,” said Nikki Finke, a long-time Hollywood journalist who writes the Deadline Hollywood Daily website.

If the Weinsteins do go under, they will leave a huge legacy. The brothers’ first company, Miramax, was the studio that revolutionised Hollywood. It almost single-handedly showed that small-scale quality films could not only reap Oscars but could also score millions of dollars at the box office.

Miramax was a roaring success, putting out films such as Pulp Fiction, The Piano, The Talented Mr Ripley and many others. “The Weinsteins showed Hollywood you can stir up enormous interest and enormous profits from the right independent movies … they made some glorious movies,” said Finke.

They also triggered a wave of independent films and soon almost every major studio set up its own “independent” arm to try to replicate their success. Miramax itself was eventually bought by Disney, with the Weinsteins continuing to run it. That relationship ended in 2005 when the brothers left the firm they had founded and set up the Weinstein Company in a bid to re-create their success. But it has been harder to do the second time around.

Now some feel the era of the Weinsteins as major players with their own studio is already at an end. “It is terribly sad. It would be a terrible loss to those who love film. The movie-going experience will be poorer if they are not around,” said Waxman.

GLOBALISTS 'R' TERRORISTS @ 06/20/2009 at 11:57 pm

The Israeli banker Rothchilds built the family banking fortune in Germany off of white Germans. When Rothchild couldn’t take total advantage of the working people of Germany, Rothchild moved to England to take over the British banking system and marry into the ruling class, in the monarchy. The Israeli bankers Goldman Sachs and Rothchilds fomented war in Germany to punish Anglo Germans for not being better slaves and low wage earners. The bankers and industrialists united to enslave the masses of the world into the war machine which only served the bankers and industrialists and their puppet politicians. Together they slaughtered the civilians of the axis and allied powers and robbed all of the citizens of these nations.

The only ones to profit from WWII were the Israeli banker cabal, puppet politicians and the evil industrialists. The type of government one had during WWII was meaningless. All forms of government served one purpose, to enrich and empower ONLY the cabal of bankers, politicians and industrialists who conspired to rob the middle class of their wealth, houses and lives.

Truth is know.

This silly little movie isn’t going to change the truth one iota despite having an A-list actor in it. It’s only going to reduce Pitt’s esteem in the minds of those who know the truth. History lessons in schools and over the mass media have been only lies. This film may be fantasy but it’s fantasy based on the official lies and is a product of the fascist industrial banking cabal that robbed all axis and allied nations while tricking the citizens of these nations by distracting them with terror and war.

Same shite, different day. Iraq, Afghanistan, the Gulf War, Desert Storm are more of the same.

Few remain who are fooled by the official lies.

its a shame that the weinsteins are putting the survival of their company on QT and brads back, you cant expect one movie to save your company when you’re releasing it in a dead month like august, the weinstein’s only have them selves to blame if their company goes under.

Cooper might have messed up here. Sure he’ll get a boost in recognizability, but the man has some SERIOUS skeletons in his closet. He was out in college. There are rumors that he hit his ex-wife. Interesting to see if the tabs bother digging any of this up, or if they’ll just be content to push “Jen’s New Love!”

This isn’t accurate. Par Vantage didn’t lose money on AMH. They probably broke even. The movie cost $16MIL to make. It made $19MIL at the BO, had $5.5MIL in domestic DVD sales and about the same in international sales. With TV rights, PPV and rentals they may even have turned a mil or two profit.
