Michelle Obama Harvests The White House Kitchen Garden
First Lady Michelle Obama harvests with some fifth grade students in the White House Kitchen Garden on the White House’s South Lawn on Tuesday (June 16) in Washington, D.C.
The 45-year-old First Lady later sat down to a meal with the children from Bancroft Elementary School with the lettuce and snap peas harvested from the garden to focus attention on health and nutrition.
“The planting of this garden was one of the first things I wanted to do as first lady at the White House,” she told the students. “You helped make this dream a reality.” 20+ pics inside…

You’d think with all of the people who work for and advise her someone would help her with her choice of clothes.
She clearly has no idea about fashion or style, or what to wear to suit her rather unfortunate bottom heavy shape.
She’d probably look better if she stopped trying so hard.

This is a wonderful project - so proud of her starting an organic garden at the White House. I agree with the previous comment - why have paper plates and cups? Why not also introduce these children to some refinement - they are eating lunch at The White House. I think the staff would have been able to accommodate real plates and glasses for juice.
Hey #24 Laura Bush was a great lady. She spent many years helping many children organizations. She also spent much time in the garden. She just did not feel like she needed to have her picture taken everytime. Do you people really think this is not staged? A camera man just happened to be standing at the white house garden? And Michelle Obama just happened to be dressed this way. Pull your heads out of your ass people. The press kisses the Obama asses and the Obama’s are so into portraying their family as picture perfect. They are nothing but media whores and liars!

Laura Bush was a lovely woman, very classy indeed. If you admire her so much, you would do well to follow her upstanding example and keep your ugly, useless comments to yourself. Though I don’t know Mrs. Bush personally, I remember the warmth she showed Mrs.O, in particular, during the campaign, and I doubt she’d sign on to any of the trash you’ve written here. To use our First Lady’s name and “wh***” in the same sentence? How shameful. You really are an emabarassment.
You’re going to have to deal with it: Michelle Obama is a great woman. Her presence in the White House, the role she has played thus far as First Lady, the way she has engaged the D.C. community and the general public …it’s all just awesome. Like it or not “pumpkin,” people like, admire, and are even inspired by Mrs. Obama - and none of your offensive harping is going to change that. Public opinion of her hinges upon her own action, period. So save the impotent rage - it’s wasted here.

Oh look everyone! The First Lady, having invited local school children to join her in harvesting the WH garden has allowed the media to document the event, thereby showing the world a real-life example of healthy eating, outdoor activity, and community engagement!!!! And she does this kind of hippie crap all the time!! She’s such a selfish, monster! She even had the nerve to be dressed in DECENT CLOTHING!!!! WTF is wrong with this woman?!!
