Kelly Clarkson is seen out and about Toronto, Canada while in town for the Music Music Awards on Monday (June 22)
The 27-year-old American Idol champ cracked a few jokes about the Will.i.am-Perez Hilton incident, saying, “I gotta be honest with you, he’s gonna get a lot of flowers. I’m not talking about Perez, the manager. (laughs) I do not think violence is the answer but what did you expect? You can’t talk that much crap about people without being able to take something. I’m surprised it hasn’t happened already! (laughs) I hear that he’s mean to celebrities’ kids. You’re hurtful to children, no one’s going to pity you. I don’t understand! I don’t think anyone should be punched but I see why someone would want to do it.” Watch the interview below, around the 3:40 mark!
Fergie’s husband, Josh Duhamel, added, “When you get rich saying hateful things sometimes you ask for it. It’s an unfortunate incident and I hope it goes away.”
The View co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck noted that she considered hitting Perez when he was a guest on the show: “It was tempting when he was here.”
Added co-host Whoopi Goldberg: “When you get clocked by the pen, it’s never fun, and some people, you don’t know how they’re going to respond to you, and you might just want to take that into consideration.”

I agree with everyone about Perez. He is so incredibly cruel to kids, teens, and anyone he thinks he can make a buck off of by getting people to read his column.
Although I don’t think clocking him was the answer, I can certainly understand the wish to do so. He repeatedly prints rumors and lies and then never goes back and corrects them.
It is all about him and he can’t stand it when the tables turn….

I think Kelly is just an amazing person. Fame hasn’t changed her. She’s just as down to earth, humble, friendly, and easy going as before Idol made her a star. Everyone who works with her says she is so funny and natural and never pulls the diva card.
And I don’t give a damn if she gains some weight–she is beautiful inside and out. And that VOICE. The woman is truly blessed. I hope she can find someone to love her and share her life.
I love Kelly Clarkson’s personality and music. And that was one fun interview. I seriously agree with her as well. If you make money out of insulting people, don’t expect everyone to be happy with you. It’s not something that gains you respect. I’m not saying Perez deserved it, but it should be no surprise somebody snapped after what he always provokes.
