OlderDaniel Radcliffe Parades With Older Women
Daniel Radcliffe’s tie flies away on the latest cover of Parade magazine. Here’s what the 19-year-old British actor shared about:
On going for older women: “Girls my own age are not really an option. I find, generally speaking, they have to be entertained more than older girls do. So most of the girls I have had serious things with are generally sort of in their 20s.”
On turning 20 next month: “I’ve noticed I make noises when I get up and sit down now. I mean, my knees are rotten bad—I refused to wear knee pads too many times when I was doing stunts, and I just clobbered them up a bit. I am an old man in a young man’s body.”
Where Harry leaves off and Daniel begins: “When I started out at the age of 10 or 11, I was essentially saying the lines as I myself would say them. When I became aware that that’s what I was doing, at 13 or 14, it didn’t make sense to change, because it would suddenly be a dramatic shift in the character.”
On shocking audiences with a nude love scene on Broadway: “As soon as we started doing the show, people went, ‘Oh! So this is not pornography—this is a play,’ It was mainly hyped beforehand. I didn’t set out to shock people. I set out to do something different from Potter. If I had wanted to shock people I would have played, you know, a gay drug dealer.”

Hollly, of course Dan would not say “I am addicted to cigarettes.” When do people who are admit it? Not likely. He might have it under control but the tendency to get hooked is there. You have utterly NO way to be certain what he will do without parental controls on him most of the time. He might stay on the straight and narrow and he might not. He drinks coke and vodka (so he says) when he drinks and of course that is the classic drink of alcoholics since it produces no tell tale smell and the coke makes it all go down so easily. He might not be an alcoholic yet, but who is to say he won’t become one. Showbusiness is FULL of substance abusers; it’s a hotbed of substance abusers. Paul Newman, it is now revealed, was perpertually half drunk. So don’t my dear be SURE of anything. He used to be naive and charming to a fault and sweet and adorable. Now he is all that no more. He is probably some nicer than lots of movie stars, but now that he is, as he says, self confident his old charm is gone. He’s just another growed up actor.
What IS interesting (you have to read the original article to see it) is that his enormous success is the result of his not being good in school. He has explained many times that since he wasn’t good at sports and wasn’t good at his studies his parents thought it would boost his fragile ego to go to an acting audition. So they sent him off the audition for David Copperfield and he got the part. (He was so perfect in the role it is beyond belief; it is probably his all time best performance as well as his first. He fit the role like a glove). And from that he went on to be Harry Potter. So his weaknesses were converted into this strengths and now he is one of the biggest movie stars ever. HP will be a tough thing to follow however and whether he will continue to get first rate parts is not a certainty. He might be wise to quit acting and do something else like directing.
I find his comment re girls hilarious. Girls his age probably waht him to fall in love with them. Older girls (very likely expensive, high end wh*res) don’t expect anything but money from him. So he sticks with the women who don’t make any emotional demands. Smart kid and hard and cynical too. Oh my but the adorable little Dan is all gone away.
Why do I think he uses wh*res? Because he has said that doing it with most girls would result in their talking about it the next day in the tabloids. The nice thing about wh*res is that they don’t talk and are paid not to talk. It’s just a business and they don’t ask to be “entertained”; instead they ask to be paid. So I think that is probably what he does.
@whortensia - It is blatantly obvious that you don’t have a clue what you are talking about. Do your homework and stop make absolutely ridiculous remarks about a subject matter - in this case - Dan Radcliffe you know absolutely nothing about. He has lived an exemplary life up to know. Pick on someone else or do some self-reflection - might just do you some good.

Sweets, I know what he says in interviews. He says he had his first sex with an older woman. He said he can’t have sex with women he just meets for fear they will blab to the tabloids. He was photographed coming home tipsy (I would not say flat out drunk) from his 18th birthday party. I didn’t say his life was debauched. Going to a professional woman for sex is perfectly okay. He is not married. You are getting your pantiesn in a bunch about nothing. I just made the case why he would most likely find “professional” women the easiest way to have sex.
Maybe you like to think he doesn’t have eex. That would make him a wee bit strange at 19, would it not? Did you ever see his skit in EXtras? The one where he plays a sex crazed Boy Scout who hits on every woman around him, whatever her age, even Dame Diana Rigg who must be in her 50s or older. He was very funny in it. Played the part perfectly. Runs around waving a condom wondering if it is “big enough.” LOL
You need to use your head. He says he doesn’t have time to “entertain” women. That would mean taking them to dinner, or to the theater, etc., etc. About the only women who are willing to do “it” without any entertainment at all are professional women. With them its, hi, how are you, what do you like to do, bang bang, here’s the money, goodbye. That sounds like his cup of tea.
In addition he says he has trouble getting dates:

I copied the quote of his from a news article. There is no doubt he said it. I simply use my head to reach the conclusion that he has sex with wh*res. He said he first lost his virginity to an older woman whom most people think was a makeup lady on his movie set, and since then there is only one “nice” girl who has ever been seen in his company. He has dated one tranny at least, and nobody has seen any other “dates”. If he was dating decent girls why would he not be willing to be seen with them. If he uses wh*res, of course, it is all secret and concealed. I can’t prove it but I have my suspicions. I don’t think he is evil, but he is not any longer a sweet little goody goody.
Don’t expect Dan to be “hot” in the rest of the Potter movies. He still has to be HP, who is essentially a goody goody even if grown up. Dan by now has outgrown all that and is doubtless a pretty hard, cynical cookie after almost ten years in the movie business. He has lost his diffidence and shy charm and probably does pretty much whatever he wants to satisfy his urges. I do think he is still probably a nicer person (more polite, more modest, etc.) than most movie stars of his age.
You have to understand the following about Dan:
Until recently he lived at home with his parents, occupying a bedroom in the house. They would keep tabs on him there very well. When he first started the Potter movies they demanded they be done in the UK, not Hollywood so they could keep him at home. His father was with him most of the time as his chaperone doubtless to keep drug dealers, etc., away from him. Even when he was in New York acting in Equus his father was with him and he had a minder who made sure he got home at night by 1 am at the latest. He doubtless has a bodyguard with him much of the time to keep crazy fans from hurting him (often a danger.) But NOW he has moved out and lives on his own, so his parents cannot probably keep such close watch on him. This of course was inevitable, since he couldn’t live at home forever. But what happens to him when he is on his own and his parents can’t be on top of him all the time remains to be seen.
