Beyonce Knowles Hits BET Awards 2009
Beyonce sparkles in Balmain on the red carpet at the 2009 BET Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Sunday (June 28) in Los Angeles.
The 27-year-old songstress and rapper T.I. were top contenders for trophies, with a leading five nominations each. She is up for best R&B female, best actress and video of the year.
Beyonce is also expected to perform (she reportedly changed her piece to honor Michael Jackson).

It is a very unflattering dress, especially with the shoulder pads. It makes her look shoulders look VERY wide and makes her look like she has a stumpy neck.

#32 first off Michael was not Catholic so she was singing that song for herself. Ave Maria is a prayer..Hail Mary full of Grace the lord is with thee…….. Michael Jackson never believed in Saints, he was a Jehovah’s Witness so singing Ave Maria as a tribute to him doesn’t make any sense to me. It’s a beautiful prayer and song and she in my opinion really disrespects it by singing it with a veil and a leotard, hey it’s just my opinion, if others enjoyed it and made them feel good I have no problem with that., everyone has the right to feel the way they feel., i’m outta here.

Afrika, then exactly why would we deem her performance actually a tribute to Michael Jackson if that’s the case. It’s simply a performance plugging her concert tour. No matter what anyone says it’s disrespectful to sing such a religious song dressed as a common *****!! Hey that’s my opinion & I’m sticking to it. Afrika clearly you DON’T quite get it…..hence your choice of colorful language to make your point, we wouldn’t expect you to. :-)
