well, aren’t you the dumb b$%%# . Ave Maria is the Latin translation of the Hail Mary prayer, literally, it is the prayer put to music. There are many versions by many famous historical composers but the one thing in common is that they are all, without question, the Hail Mary prayer. It is not by any means a romantic song and it is 100% religious. Do a little research about what your saying before you insult someone.

its not something the mainstream would normally like. she’s been doing this shape/silouette in other outfitts, the boxy raised shoulder.
on Beyonce this glamazon look works. Her rendition of schubert’s Ave Maria was very beautiful. It’s silly and petty to criticize it since so many others have sung it before, catholic and non-catholic, and theres about 11 different versions of it out there.

i was very dissappointed in beyonce this year. dont get me wrong , her oice is beautiful, and the song was good, but wtf was she wearing..a freakin umrella dress. still love her though..no hating her because shes my idol. i was kind of hoping she would have performed single ladies or ego, or some faster song. she could have did both ave maria and single ladies and it would have been good. but over all her performance was ok. wasnt her best though.

@Sandy: i’m sorry sandy but i disagree with you because beyonce made the song her own and sang it in a version that best fit her voice. It doesnt necessarily have to be exactly like the original opera version. She did justice to that song with her beautiful voice and unique style.
