Three days after his son Michael Jackson death, 80-year-old Joe Jackson hits the red carpet the 2009 BET Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Sunday (June 28) in Los Angeles.
Towards the end of his interview with CNN, Joe took the opportunity to promote his new business venture, a record label. Watch the interview below! The record label talk starts around the 3:15 mark.
And here is the statement one of the family’s publicists read during the interview: “Our beloved son Michael Jackson loved you all. Michael’s children are our first priority. We will have further announcements to discuss our plans going forward. Until such time, however, we have the personal and legal authority to act, and solely Katherine and I have authority for our son and his children. We wish to handle his memory and legacy with dignity. The attorney for the Jacksons is L. Londell McMillan and no one has the authority to speak on behalf of the Jackson family at this time.”

He mentions Michael’s kids. Should Joe Jackson has access to children? Is Katherine capable of protecting them. The children should be with their actual biological parents. The Jackson family “dymanic” may be too much for these children.

I saw this live on cnn and I really thought it was some kind of rebroadcast from before Michael’s death.He is great 3 days after his son’s death when I’m not even over my friend’s death which happened 2 years ago! Yup, the guy’s a prick. He was ALWAYS JEALOUS of Michael and ridiculed him (called him ugly, made fun of his hair and nose) in childhood. That’s why Michael tried to escape this tyrant and changed himself aesthetically.

Horrifying man. I also read that Katherine, Michael’s mother, called the former nanny for the children asking where Michael kept the cash he kept in the house HOURS AFTER MICHAEL DIED. They are all corrupt. Hopefully, some safety and guidance and care can be found for the children away from these people.
Michael’s brothers should dial this guy in. He continues to make a mockery of the whole family and everything they worked for.
joe jackson is obviously a sociopath. meaning he has no feelings. he shows no emotions about his son. he said it himself ” im great”. is he too macho to show any emotion? he lived the good life.
he got the money and the power he wanted off the back of his son. now i ask, does this man want for more money? I wonder what the financial state of joe jackson is? i hope that michael jackson had the sense to exclude his father from his money. it would be great if the kids ended up with someone who would cut off jor jackson. i would love to see him struggle financially. at some point this man will have to pay the karma for being so evil about his son. why do men like that seem to get everything in life?
