Transformers 2 Blasts Weekend Box Office
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen raked in a massive $201.2 million these last five days, second best to The Dark Knight’s five-day haul of $203.8 million.
Despite earning a pathetic 20% on RottenTomatoes.com, moviegoers came out in droves this past weekend to see the Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox show.
The biggest movie of the year so far is Star Trek, which has totaled $244 million over seven weeks.

This movie is going to kill Star Trek. People just love the special effects. You could put ANY actors in the movie and it would do just as well. Maybe with the exception of Spencer and Heidi. lol

I’m embarrassed for America. How about people start coming out in droves for GOOD movies and rewarding filmmakers who make movies that respect the intelligence of filmgoers? I guess that’s a novel concept.

People come to see sequels in the hopes that it will be an improvement upon a GOOD first, or to see what happens next. Dark Knight was a stand-only must see, not built on previous success and inevitable curiosity for the follow-up. Women and men both have said it sucked, have questions M-ox’s acting chops, and the critics obviously massacred it. ‘Nuff said, as they say.

Great special effects only for guys and kids. My favourite this year until now are Star Trek and Up.

Oh my gosh, I couldn’t stand that Isabel girl while watching the movie! Thank goodness she wasn’t in it for long! Transformers 2 was good though! I really enjoyed it!

The movie was a great action flick. It was funny. People who loved the cartoon (and some who didn’t) loved it. I think the critics just hated it b/c it implied that Obama wanted to negotiate with the alien robots who wanted to take out our sun. Yup. Angry liberals.
I’m definitely sold on Isabel. She is so mega cute. Megan not so much.

I’m just going to copy and paste a line from my old post and then expand on it:

I simply meant it was not a sequel that people were going to come see regardless, because of the above reason. That’s why I think it’s success counts more. I didn’t discuss anything about promotions used for films.
Paramount is making a killing in the box office sales this year.
I watched Dark Knight because I wanted to see a Batman film, not what happens next. Maybe because I already know the storyline, who knows.
Best movie of the year, hands down. A lot more action than the first.
most boring movie i’ve seen in my whole life. twenty minutes into the movie and i was ready to doze off. sentiment is shared by the three other persons i went to the movie with… and how, despite all the fight scenes, mikaela didn’t get any bruise? and did she have the time to retouch her lips with lipgloss all the time?

to be honest, this movie was nothing more than special effects and hot girls. i can’t stand movies these days; what has hollywood come to? it seems that being hot automatically makes you an actor. what a shame.
btw, this movie had mediocre acting. bring out some talented average girls to play this movie! looks aren’t everything!

Isabel Lucas is very meh…way too thin and too much makeup. Megan is prettier but she is such a bad actress and does the sexpot thing way too much. Her mouth looked ridiculous throughout the movie. Kinda funny-looking actually.
I liked it. I thought it was better than the 1st one, but I liked that one too. Lots of action and also funny. Both Megan and Isabel are beautiful. Both had too much spray tan in the movie though. And Isabel does need to eat. Shia is cute in the movie.

This movie sucked so bad. Why did they have to ruin it. Couldn’t they take their time and get a good script? So disappointed.
Both Isabel and Megan were told by Michael Bay to look more sexy. Isabel has been quoted saying that she’s never gotten that direction before from any director other than Bay. That to me speaks volumes about Bay not only as a director but as a person. I wonder if Shia and the other guys in the film were told to look more sexy. I bet not. I understand that for some T&A is the best thing imaginable and sex will always sell, but as a person who studied film, it’s disappointing that Megan and Isabel’s characters were reduced down to just looking hot.
Their characters could have been both beautiful and extremely strong as well as endearing just as much as the guys. I know some say, hey, it’s a summer blockbuster with hot chicks that was just about the explosions, it’s for fun and not to be taken seriously. I absolutely enjoy blockbusters and explosions in movies. I just think that a balance could have been struck between having a huge summer blockbuster and having the lead female characters be not only beautiful but strong-willed and able just as their male counter-parts without being told to be more sexy.
first one was better but this one was good still. i thought isabel lucas was pretty but they never explained her, obviously we know she is bad but all other robots are cars/machines with fake humans in them so she was kind of random.

i thought the first transformers was *ok* and feel the same about the sequel.
Sometimes the CGI is just too jumbled, the corny jokes ALA American Pie can go and the story line/plot was just too out there.
If your home theater sucks and you like transformers then see it in the theaters, otherwise watch ot once and toss it
Give the girl a break!!! Most of you dead beats are passing judgment on her for her small role in this movie - do you ever stop and think that maybe she isn’t the script-writer/director/stylist/make-up artist?!?!?!?! She’s been told what to do, what to wear, how to look and how to act by the people who are in charge.
I think she’s an intriguing and down to earth person from what I’ve seen from interviews. She has also been involved in some credible, interesting projects with well-renowned actors and directors that are due to come out in the near future. All of this indicates that she is likely to become somewhat famous, so get used to seeing/hearing about her!!!
Also, she is an amazing looking girl - very beautiful and delicate and whimsical.

I LOVED THE MOVIE!!! Ten times better than the first, definitely best movie i’ve seen all summer. Megan was super sexy in it too, I mean, yeah, she may have too much makeup and look a little trashy, but she is definitely the sexiest woman i’ve seen

The two ‘hood’ bots turned me off big time. I was almost going to walk out of the movie if I had the word P***Y one more time!!! This movie was supposed to be for kids? I don’t think so. If the movie is going to win any awards, it will be for special effects — surely not for acting.

the movie was amazing and i disagree yeah the special effects are amazing but so are the actors you can’t just put anyone to make it work….the actors had to basically work with thin air if there taking to the auto bots or the desepticons (sp?) they had to pretend that there’s something there and not everyone could do that….so Shia and Meagan are basically very talented to be put into this movie….it was amazing i watched it on Friday cried bout 3 times in the movie and it was hilarious very action packed and dramatic and sad at the same time loved it defiantly movie of the year for me :D

haha now WB and Nolan are scared to see that Batman’s record will easily be overtaken. If Transformers alone can easily pass TDK’s record with bad critics and no tragedy hype TDK was just a fluke mainly for Ledger.

First of all, those of you saying The Dark Knight was Heath Ledger’s LAST performance, NO, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus was his last performance. Anyway, YEAH! Transformers rocks, I haven’t seen it yet and don’t care what the stupid critics say about it. Megan Fox is not a natural beauty, she’s had her nose fixed, (check on good plastic surgery.com) and you will see the slight difference they did a great job though) I am just going to see this for the robots and Shia, Megan Fox and the other chick I could CARE LESS.
