Barack Obama: Gay Rights Champion?
President Barack Obama speaks alongside First Lady Michelle Obama as he hosts an event for LGBT Pride Month in the East Room of the White House on Monday (June 29) in Washington, D.C.
“I want you to know: You have our support,” Obama said. “I will not only be your friend, I will continue to be an ally and a champion and a president who fights with you and for you.”

i think he’ll only go as far as helping gays out in limited ways but i dont think he’ll do much about gay marriage
I think marriage should be reserved to man and wife - the gays and lesbos can have a registered partnership, marriage is something holy which should not be taken up the pooper !!!

The man has been in office 6 mos. with a global economy meltdown. I think the Gays can be patient and see what he does in the future. Even as President he is entitled to his own opinion. Whether he is for or against Gay Marriage there will be a lot of people that will disagree with him one way or the other; you can’t please everyone.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by encouraging class hatred.
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.

You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.

@Kat: Kat, i appreciate your sentiments but this is, without a shadow of a doubt, far too much wisdom for 99.9% of the people who read this site to grasp. It’s a shame, really.

i love our first lady, she is so beautiful, but most of all, she is intelligent,educated, involved, and love to help others, what a great humanitarian she is, we are so blessed to have our first family. he cares about every one.

Now he needs to start moving on getting rid of the moronic, hypocritical, and most importantly, useless “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy, and if he really supports gays and lesbians, on supporting same-sex marriage, although throughout his campaign, he stated that he believed that marriage was between a man and a woman.

What is baffling to me is seeing the President of the United States on a gossip site. Think about it: this post, which I agree raises serious questions about Obama’s support for gay rights, is sandwiched between Eva Longoria’s mattress preferences and something about a beauty queen who is somebody’s future sister-in-law.
The President and the First Lady are also superstars. It’s a new phenomenon that we have yet to fully comprehend.
I think the majority of the people who come to this site do so for the gossip and the pictures, to vent about celebrities they dislike or who’ve done something stupid, or to share opinions about the posts. But it’s a GOSSIP site, not a political blog.
So, I don’t think the people on this site necessarily lack the wisdom to grasp Mr. Lincoln’s words. What I think is that Kat’s quote might receive more in-depth responses if it were on a different kind of site. A site not dedicated 99.99% to gossip, for example :-).

@ KAT, first off, every thing you wrote are all lies, Obama has not done any of those things you claim he has, some people will say anything as long as it serves their agenda, i can and do think for myself, thank you. now keep your little words of wisdom to your self, they are all lies from someone who hates our president, what a shock, …not.
