I guess that is why Jen’s last movie is the BIGGEST BOMB of 2009 so far that hasn’t even made $1 million dollars and it has been in theaters for 7 weeks. Last weekend “Management” didn’t even make $10,000 dollars and it also had some really, really bad reviews.

If you consider the income from residuals from Friends, then you should take into account that 14m from baby pic’s are part of the $27m for Jolie…. ;-)
Goya’s right. The $16 Milion per year for 5 years for all of the Friends stars ends in 2009. So after this year, Jen only income will be from movies, which is why she’s trying to make 3 or more movies a year. So that she’s will still be making $20 + million a year. But with a super bomb like “Management” which cost $20 million to make and produce, didn’t even make $1 million, studios won’t be quick to pay her any more than $6 million per movie. Esp since she doesn’t have a big box office draw internationally, only sometimes here in the states, and only with an A-list leading men, or an ensamble cast.

Case in point ALL the 6 Friends co-stars received the same residuals for a term of 5 years. This is the 5th and final year. The amount was $16.1 million per year for each of the 6. Starting in 2010 there will be no more money from Friends for any of them. So Forbes really needs to deduct $16.1 million from Aniston’s total which puts her at $8.9 million for 3 movies. Or they should have Courtney Cox and Lisa Kudrow on that list as will.

Perhaps Forbes should include the other income the rest of the actresses make as well. Kate Winslet and Cate Blanchett do commercials. As do a few others. Angelina and Meryl received back end deals (that is, gross points from the profits) from some of their movies. So all these other extras should be added by Forbes if they insist on showing TV money and for that matter TV money from OLD work which is no indication of one’s worth in today’s market.

My estimate is that Aniston is pulling in an average of $3 million per picture. That woud place her about 10th place. I am sure there are other actresses who make at least $3 million a picture and are not on that list. Are there any TV actresses making big money today? Glenn Close? Jennifer Love Hewitt? Tina Fey?

Although “The Hangover” star has been busy claiming he’s just friends with Jennifer Aniston - with whom he was seen having dinner late last month - he can hardly say the same about Zellweger after the two were caught on a cozy date Tuesday night.

Finally, without saying goodbye, Zellweger asked, “Do you mind if I go first? I’ll see you in a little bit,” and paid the tab (what a lady!) before leaving the boite around midnight while Cooper lingered.
We think this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship. Although the actor has been linked to beauties like “Nip/Tuck” star Rhona Mitra and actress Lake Bell, he and Zellweger seem like a match made in heaven. The real question: How long will the two last? Last night in NYC, Bradley Cooper and Squinty Lemonface ate food together (Well, Squinty probably just stared at the food) at a restaurant called Antonucci. The two star in a movie together, but OK! Magazine says they weren’t just acting like co-workers. Angie CHOSE to have a family, and began having children still in her 20s (Maddox), she did not wait like many HW stars who are having children late in life because they chose to have a career, and at the end, if they want kids, have to struggle to have them. Gotta laugh at that assessment of X’s earnings, too. I don’t believe X got $8MIL for Turkey Baster. It’s not a studio movie, even though it may have found a studio to distribute it, and the budget couldn’t have been much more than $30MIL. There’s no way nearly 1/3 of the budget is going to any one actor…especially one with as spotty a BO record as X. Yes, she’s A PRODUCER on the project, but she’s not the main producer. No financier is going to agree to that kind of deal. The same with Bounty Hunter. The budget is probably closer to $40MIL than $50MIL so her walking away with an $8MIL salary just ain’t gonna happen. $2-5MIL - tops.

Angie isn’t taking a cut because she’s NEVER made $20MIL on any movie. She got $10MIL for M&MS, tabloid despite reports otherwise. She and Brad DID NOT get equal pay on that movie. That’s a myth. A nice myth, but a myth none-the-less. You’ve got to remember - it was 2004 and Angie was coming off a couple of duds. The LC2 movie didn’t make as much as they thought it would and Beyond Borders didn’t do so great either. She was getting $10MIL for an action movie at the time and that’s what she got - no points either. Brad, on the other hand, got $20MIL or a % of the gross on all matters relating to M&MS - from box office to DVD sales to PPV to broadcast tv income. So every time you watch M&MS on FX Brad says, “Thanks for feeing my kids, man!” Brad made beaucoup bank on M&MS…which Forbes reported as $20MIL in their 2005-2006 Top Celeb list. LOL.

As for why Angie would take $15MIL even if she had gross points - well, the $15MIL is guaranteed SALARY. The points, whether gross or net, are a maybe. If the movie does well, then you’ll make a huge salary. If the movie tanks, then you make next to nothing and waste 3-4 months working and earning nothing. That’s like asking if I would voluntarily go into work for 4 months if my boss couldn’t pay me. That’s a great big, “Fcuk no!” By taking the $15MIL upfront she gets fewer backend points and if the movie is a big hit, then she doesn’t make as much as she could have…but she’ll make a helluava lot more than if the movie flops.

I didn’t mention KFP because of the article. I mentioned it because of the suggestion that Ang had a back-end deal on “Wanted”. There has been just as much speculation that Ang had back-end on KFP. Those payouts would have happened in the latter part of 2008 for both “Wanted” and KFP.

Cameron Diaz supposedly made $30MIL on Shrek 3 - all backend, no salary up-front. And she made less than Eddie Murphy & Mike Myers. Shrek The Third made $799MIL worldwide, had $173.5MIL in US DVD sales, the studios don’t even disclose what they make in international DVD sales. That’s at least $972 MILLION…and then there’s DVD rentals, promotional tie-ins, broadcast tv and PPV rights, etc. That movie probably made someone in the neighborhood of $1.5-2 BILLION. Of coure it cost $160MIL to make and they probably spent $100MIL more on marketing, but Dreamworks still made almost $1BIL in profits off that movie. So Diaz getting $30MIL isn’t as far-fetched at is sounds. Just going by the $972MIL US numbers - if you double production costs and marketing, that’s what the movie would have needed to make to about break even - $520MIL. That would give them a profit of $452MIL. If Diaz got 6.75%…that’s $30.51MIL. Totally doable…
No comparison between Angelina and Aniston. Maybe in America Aniston is one sweetheart, like many others… but Angelina is unique and worldwide wanted not only because she’s incredibly magnetic but also because she’s talented and truly sensitive.

Wow, what a LOT OF MISINFORMATION here. First, Oscars DO NOT EQUAL MONEY. Second, the talk here of ‘producing’ is pretty limited here. Angie’s participation in any project gets producers interested (and that doesn’t include the fact that she has proven credentials in getting her own projects off the ground. = Producer) Third, Angelina is not just a great altruist, she is also a shrewd business woman and has a stellar reputation as a non-diva, hard working actor who understands the richer you are the more resources you have to work with. (That is why her and Brad do other things to make money, modeling, commercials, etc.) She is a woman on a mission and she is no dilettante. It is no surprise to me she is one of the top money earners because she is also one of if not the most generous on that same list.

Aniston made 4 movies, the revenue from Friends, and her SmartWater shilling to make this amount. Jolie made 2 movies, period. The difference in their movie fees (jolie $15 million plus percentage, Aniston $4-8 million flat rate) indicates who is the bigger box office draw (and it ain’t Aniston). But I give Anistons management and PR machine a lot of credit. She has limited talent, mediocre looks (even with the surgeries and injectibles), and a boring personality. So the fact that she’s #2 is a testament to the power of CAA and the Huvane brothers. Her vast fortune doesn’t hurt. $10 million in Smartwater stock to become spokesperson, producing 3 out of the last 4 movies (must have taken a $10 mil hit on Mgmt). Don’t think many celebrities have to fund their own careers, though.
