Whitney Houston: I Didn’t Know My Own Strength
Check out Whitney Houston’s new song “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength,” off her highly-anticipated new album, I Look To You, out September 1. Download here!
Here’s the lyrics to the chorus: “I didn’t know my own strength/ And I crashed down and I tumbled/ But I did not crumble/ I got through all the pain/ I didn’t know my own strength/ Survived my darkest hour/ My faith kept me alive/ I picked myself back up/ Hold my head up high/ I was not built to break/ I didn’t know my own strength.”
FYI: Whitney, 45, will kick-off Good Morning America’s fall concert series in September!

Looks great, sounds great. I can’t believe some people don’t believe in her. Redemption does exist.
ALL YOU NAYSAYERS OUT THERE, SHE IS A 45 YEAR OLD WOMAN WITH PAST SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROBLEMS AND A TUMULTOUS LIFE. SHE SOUNDS AMAZING AND THE MORE SHE IS OUT THERE SINGING HER VOICE WILL SHARPEN BACK UP. IT WILL NEVER BE WHAT IT USE TO BE (THANK GOD FOR THAT BECAUSE WE ALL SHOULD STRIVE TO BE BETTER THAN WE WERE EVEN ON YESTERDAY) THAT WAS THE DRUGGED OUT WHITNEY AND SHE IS SAYING IN HER SONG, I TUMBLED BUT I DIDN’T CRUMBLE. ALL YOU NAYSAYERS TRY TO SING ANY ONE OF HER SONGS PAST OR PRESENT AND SEE HOW WELL YOU MEASURE UP. TAKE IT FROM A TRAINED SINGER. GIVE HER HER DUE,SHE DESERVES IT. GOD BLESS YOU WHITNEY, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE LOVED. KEEP IT MOVING!
Good for her. The world knows all her worst problems but, see she doesn’t care and it doesn’t get her down. That’s strength. When you can say, hey, you see all my weakness, I gave you all the weapons, and you still can’t hold me down. Cuz nothing can. I hope she makes a good comeback.
tHE SONG IS JUST FABOLOUS!!
NO MATTER WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT IT,, BUT THE QUEEN IS BACK. I love the song, the lyric, the voice… some people have said that isn´t good but… there the “new singers” have no voice, they just have fame because of their cute faces. The real and fantastic voices are: Whitney, Michael, Carey, Celine D,..
WHITNEY YOU WILL ALWAYS BE THE ONE
Her voice is huskier here but the song is telling of her overcoming and we all know when we overcome something we are never the same. God is allowing her to be heard in a way she’s never been heard before. Yes she did her share of drugs but who are we to judge? The Bible staes Judge ye not for with what you judge you will be judged! She is a treasure. People will applaud you when you’re up and kick you when you’re down. I personally love the song simply because she has overcome those demons that plagued her for so long. Be thankful to God that she is still with us. She could have been gone on to eternity a long time ago but God didn’t see fit for her to die then. He has a plan for Whitney and I will buy her music if no one else does. This woman is gifted in voice. So many of us want the Whitney from the Bodyguard days but evenif she had not gone through the drug abuse, she still would not be able to do it the way she did it then. She’s almost 45 and we don’t know what God has in store for her. He allowed her to make it back this far and He will lead her to where ever He wants her to go. Thanks Whitney for I Didn’t Know My Own Strength. God bless you and I pray He will bless this project as only He can. All the negativity is just a trick of the enemy….God has it all in control. This is her testimony (for those who know what a testimony is). As she sings “I was not built to break…. I found my strength!

One Word: Brilliant.
One Word: Incomparable.
One Word: Comeback
Two Words: “The Voice!”
Thomas Gibson — that post literally had me in tears. I’m not even religious .. but I believe that WHITNEY is, and I believe that in her heart everything that you wrote is true.
She is human. She has had a tremendous fall from grace, and she has found the strength to pull through and rise again. I am SO proud of her. There were many times that I’m sure she was near death. She could have suffered the same tragic end as MJ did. But she “was not built to break”.
We have to support her. She is an icon and a cultural treasure. She needs love and support from the fans and from the public. This woman has been through Hell and back. I think this is easily her most personal song, to date. It is raw, emotional. And though her voice is not what it was in her prime - she’s still infinitely better than 90% of the auto-tune manufactured popstars out there now. She’s one of the last icons we have in pop music. This song is a letter to her fans. I am honoured!
I am in love with the song, and so happy for her to be back. She will always have a quality voice to me, but if you saw the famed divas on American Idol, they/we all change in time
Her voice has a lovely crack ***** resonance to it.
I love how someone can be given the most amazing gift and then piss on it.
1.5 million albums. That is my prediction.
Haven’t missed her - don’t care anymore.
After the rude and vile behavior she exhibited on Being Bobby Brown, I do not think she deserves any sort of comeback.
welcome back, that sound is great and i am sure that whitney will be back on the top of the charts with her new album. and to all you haters F**K OFF
Moni!! Your`r so stupiddddddddddddddddd
@Moni: Ayi get a life gal, nothing is horrible, give her a chance she still need our support.
I’m happy , this is your start and I hope your’ll stick to your dreams never let anyone rule your life again I LUV U
PEOPLE CAN SAY WHAT EVER THEY WANT ABOUT WHITNEY SHE IS THE ULTIMATE DIVA. YOU GO GIRL PROVE THEM WRONG YOU THE BEST.
Cant wait to buy a copy of her album I don not want a bootleg copy i need the entire package it will be the gift to have welcome back whitney its Fazz From Jamaica, West Indies
Where is the hook? It’s ok, but I don’t think it is going to do that well. It’s not sweet enough. It’s more a song for her, instead of an audience. There is no hook and the emotional connection is hers alone.
I LOVE IT……SOUNDS BEAUTIFUL,IT MADE ME CRY.I AM GLAD WHITNEY IS BACK ON THE SEEN DOING WHATT SHE KNOW BEST.
love her so much
