Roger Federer Wins Wimbledon, 15th Major
Roger Federer wins his record 15th Grand Slam title at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Sunday (July 5) in London, England.
15 major championships — more than any man ever! The record was previously held by Pete Sampras with 14 championships.
The 27-year-old Swiss tennis champ beat Andy Roddick 5-7 7-6 7-6 3-6 16-14 in an epic Wimbledon match.
On Monday, Roger will reclaim the world number one spot from Rafael Nadal, who didn’t play this tournament because of a knee injury.
Congrats, Roger!!! 20+ pictures inside of Wimbledon winner Roger Federer…

wooooooooohhh!!!! go federer!!! :))))
I was rooting for Federer…which was funny because I was rooting for Nadal last year. I love them both.
congrats to federer!!! all hail the king!
roddick has won a grand slam, 2003 US open
I know Fed’s the greatest but I still think that Roddick was robbed. This is coming from someone who never thought much of Roddick at all.

GO SWISSE!!!!!!
I think that Andy deserved to win he fought so hard and he has never won wimbledon. I felt so sorry for him i have been fan of his for years and have watched him loose to many times. He is always good but just not good enough. I hope to see him win it one year! I have never cried watching sports, but i did today when Andy lost.
CONGRATS!!!
It sure wasn’t easy, he earned and worked for it for more than 4 hours, i am so happy for you Roger, you are in the history books now!
@jonny:
Roddick won the US Open in 2003 and really should’ve won this one, such a pity
great match! andy was sooooo close w/ that double break-pt in the last set… ugghhh. nice try, andy! next time (us open is just around the corner)! w/ federer’s stats, it was his match to control; either he won it or lost it. congrats, federer! i loved that netjets commercial afterwards. too funny.
Oh!! I LOVE YOU ROGER!!!
Roddick was playing first rate tennis and Federer was only playing second or third rate tennis. If Roger hadn’t thrown 50 aces Andy would have won.
Congratulations Federer!!…Brilliant,insane…both the guys deserve a SHOUT-OUT!!…felt really bad for Roddick though…he really gave Federer a run for his money..but i guess that’s wt makes the victory sweeter n that much more thrilling…but man the patience n tirelessness with which they played the match was just INSANE…phenomenal!! Kudos to both the guys!!
Congrats Roger!
Thanks for acknowledging Rafa in your interview. It made me less sad that he won’t be number one anymore.
Roger’s wife Mirka looked soooo old next to Brooklyn (Andy’s wife)!!!
and i’m so happy that Roger and Mirka are expecting thiere first baby ((( ::::
Yaay Roger!! You’re the best!!
I hate Roger!!
Rafa is the real number 1
He’s fantastic..he’s such a good boy, I like him so much..the match was incredible and I felt sorry for Roddick: he played so well too..W W W Roger….
He deserves it. He’s the best.
Congratulations!!!
@Laura:
not anymore,rafa is old news
Pathetic…Only time he’s able to win is when Rafa isn’t there…It surprising that it took him 5 sets to beat his personal punching bag (Roddick)
CONGRATS ROGER!!!!!! AWESOME FREAKING MATCH. You are truly the best ever
I felt bad for Andy, cause he was incredible, but I am so damn happy that Roger. He is my boy
ya, I dont think roger was that humble, how could he be with that record, but I’m very proud of the hard effort andy roddick put forth and I know that he will win another tournament soon. Andy was very mature and humble during his interview, and that says alot.
