Miley Cyrus Covers ‘Elle’ August 2009
Miley Cyrus isn’t a kid anymore, taking the August 2009 cover of Elle. Here’s what the 16-year-old Hannah Montana star opens up about:
On her new clothing line with Max Azria for Wal-Mart: “The jeans are my favorite part of the entire line. Because, like, literally this is going to be good for, like, Middle America, and it will be great for kids that really want to be in fashion but that don’t have it available.”
On the difficulties of being a teen star and why she’s friends with other young performers: “It’s hard for all of us. There are so many people that could be using you. So me and Nick [Jonas] and Demi [Lovato], we don’t need anything from each other. We got our own thing going on.”

I thought Elle targeted adults. Looks more like a tween mag this month. Not hating Miley just bummed that I paid for a subcription and I’m in my 20’s and they’re sending me a teeny bopper mag.

i love miley and i love the pictures aswell, she looks phenominal. I was reading the other comments and they are all pretty much “elle id an adult magazine and she’s 16 and the picture is too sexy.” I could say the same thing about the jonas brothers on the cover of Rolling Stone. Her family complains when someone makes a lewd comment about MIley, but here she is with her breasts hanging out on the cover of Elle…so, what do they expect? This girl is no role model for young children. In fact, I find it distrubing that we sometimes forget that she is only 16 because of the clothing she wears for photo shoots, red carpets, etc.
I think it’s inappropriate for her to be presented as a sex figure when she is still a minor. In fact, why aren’t Miley’s parents actually parenting and refusing to allow her to present herself in this way?
There are so many questions that come to mind when I see pics of her like this.

Ok, right now, I’m going to say that I respect other people’s opinions and I hope that they respect mine. I’ve been reading the comments so far, and half are about people who absolutely hate Miley, and half are about people who admire her and are willing to defend her. I think that’s ok, but I’m going to say that I’m on the side of people who really dislike Miley Cyrus.
Even though I don’t like her, I’ll say one good thing about her: she’s 16, and that means she is kinda grownup to do these kinda things. I mean, she can probably make her own choices now, and if she’s willing to dress like that for a cover of a magazine then so be it. I just ignore it. I’m going to say right now that I’m Muslim, and no, I’m not the terrorist kind of Muslim, I’m a normal person just like everybody else. miley does have a say in what she needs to do to have a successful photo shoot. if something was too revealing all she would have to do is walk off the set and use the defense that she is too young for such things. but CLEARLY since she is revealing her body in a “seductive” way and the Vanity Fair shoot a while back, miley likes showing skin. look at her scandal photos. miley likes to look “sexy”. anyways, the picture of her in the pink dress would have been more appropriate and classy. what i have to laugh about is the fact she says its a new way for kids that really want to be in fashion but that don’t have it available,Because walmart has nothing for us how most put it “Skinny people” ,I used to be able to buy shirts from there because it was (S 3/5) but now its ( S 4/6). Yes i am tiny (32 around) but im a size (C cup) in bra. Now if she wants to do some real good make clothes that will fit peoples body and make them look good in wat they wear. My mother is well a little over weight but she cant get anything from there either.So we end up sewing clothing so we have something to wear.
I agree. I’m 24 years old and my litte sister is 16. I may not be her mother, but I would slap the taste out of my sisters mouth if she dressed like that. Leather and breast, along with the face she is making, is for adults. She is just a child. Until she is 18, she will be a child. Unlike the photo taken of her back (that to me wasn’t a big deal, it was just her back and she was covered up) this has gone to far. There should be legal actions taken against her father and her agents for allowing this.

I don’t understand why adult magazine are now putting tween stars on their cover. It would be one thing if Miley and other Disnet stars like Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens who have also been on the cover of mainstream mags had a fanbase of all ages but the majority of their fanbase are children and tweens.

I think the whole thing is ridiculos, I am so sick of Hannah Montana at work, everyday. The woman makes enough money to feed the world for a almost 2 years at least. But these companies can’t respect customers and ghost writers that make entertainment work. I am so sick of the same old same, who cares about the age, the bigger problem is the narcassists are pushed to be the only ones to compile the entertainment industry and ghost writers whom do the work, get harassed and almost every crime done to them by these people. I think no one should by the magazine or anything from this year, not even the Backstreet Boys since they do this and lie to everyone about it. Now some people can’t go to college or narcassists and fraud in politics, entertainment, and people like Miley being treated like the 2nd coming, when their just hams and frauds and rocks are literally smarter, even their “special friends” and “interseptor agents” on the internet whom they don’t even really need. :
