OlderRobert Pattinson Remembers Regis High School
Robert Pattinson shoots scenes for his new movie, Remember Me, outside Regis High School on the Upper East Side of New York City on Monday morning (July 6).
The 20-year-old British actor is reportedly homesick. “Robert is dying to get back home,” an insider tells NYDN. “He’s so over everything. He’s overwhelmed by all the girls — they terrify him! He says girls grab his neck and clothing all of the time, and he’s not used to that. Fans don’t do that to him in London. Everyone there is a little cooler about the fame thing, which is what he’s used to.”
The source continues, “He’s embarrassed by the way girls throw themselves at him. The girls here are stalking him. He stayed in two different hotels over the course of four days just to try to escape the fans who were following him. He’s afraid that if he gives a hand, they’ll take the whole arm. He’s being advised by security not to encourage the crowd, so he doesn’t even look up anymore.”

I feel so bad for him! If people really ‘love’ him then they would not stalk his every move and follow him all around NYC. He’s not Edward Cullen; he’s Rob Pattinson. He’s completely different than his character yet, girls seem to have connected the two together. I feel so bad for him and at this moment I’d rather he stopped filming the Twilight series than continue this insanity. He’s just a guy, a regular guy doing his job. Unfortunatly, his job has been harder to do these couple of days because of the screaming girls.
I’ll admit, I’m a huge fan of his. But I like him so much I hate to here this and rather Twilight (book or movie) was never released so he wouldn’t have to suffer this.

that sucks i mean if your a fan and truely “love”him then why would u make him go through all that? people see him on the sets…some people dont even get to do that so cant yoou just be happy you got that much? that really sucks becuase you can tell by interviews he is a reserved person he says it himself he not use to the screaming of fans and stuff and yet fans arent really getting that. he is a normal person too you know? i mean it one thing to go up to someone and be civilized and ask for an autograph and another thing to grab on to the person and never let go. lol
I feel so bad for him, American people can be so crazy sometimes. I’m from Belgium and you can see Twilight is popular here, but the people here would never act that crazy. I’m a fan of Rob, but as a fan you should be smarter than to attack him. I really hope he can go back to London soon!

i think people see a movie and assume that the actor is just like that…i think people are more in love with edward…the character he plays then rob pattinson himself…if you think bout it..fans dont truely know rob they mostly know edward cullen. if that makes sense. think ppl need to give him a break….rather have him making movies then giving it all up becuase of fans you know

Hi, i think that i can understand Robert, i mean, if i was away from home for too long i would be freaking out. And it doesn’t help having thousands of girls screaming, yelling and trying to strip out his clothes. Things are getting out of control, but, on another hand, he kind of should be expecting this. I mean, he just played an amazing character, honestly Edward Cullen made me feel like i used to feel when i was younger, all that passioned love, a love with no judgment, an inconditional love. Is the character, but i don’t know if it is fortunately or unfortunately Robert Pattinson made his homework, he simply incorporate Edward with such a perfection and now comes the result of it. Success, fame, money, recognition and that only shows that he is really good, and that he made this young girls fall in love with him, although they are not really in love with HIM, but with Edward. My advice, if he wants and of course if he ever read this(wich i’m pretty sure that he wont) is let it flow, there is nothing that he can do about it now. He can go to London or anywhere, people will still recognize him, ask for autographs, photos (wich he hates). Papparizzi all the time. He just need some time to understand how and what to do and act about it.

I don’t think it’s necessarily people from New York City who are the fanatical scary stalkers - I think it’s mostly tourists or those from the tri-state area.
I’m a born and bred New Yorker and most of us get mildly annoyed when movies/shows are filming around our apartments or our work places. Rob Pattinson was filming around my work place two weeks okay - that was really aggravating… whole streets blocked off, crowds everywhere… I vaguely remember a metal barricade on the corner…. ARGH!!!!
Give me a break!!! Where would this guy be without the legions of tween fans….I am quite sure there is a nice American boy, just as good looking, or maybe even better looking who would be happy to take his place so he can go on back home and quit whinning!!! If this story is true, it’s unfortunate. As a New Yorker, I can tell you that most of us, at least in Manhattan, are used to seeing celebrities and leave them alone. But Pattinson is dealing with masses of hormonally crazed young girls, and let’s face it, they are going to be nuts no matter what city he’s in.
He’s also young and has spent an unnaturally difficult, work-intensive year–dealing with the pains of a Beatlemania type of celebrity to boot. It would be difficult for anyone, but for a 23-year-old coping with this alone…honestly, i don’t know how he does it. I hope he has the support of friends and family to rely on, and that he comes back to NYC when this Twilight stuff finally calms down and he can enjoy the city.

I was there the day these photos were taken. As usual, you shouldn’t read too much into what Tabs and other rag mags (like NYDN) write — because they exaggerate details to sensationalize and make money.
There were less than 20 on-lookers there that day, and several New Yorkers that lived in the area stopped to ask what was going on, and stayed to get a look. I had never been to the set before and hoped that everyone wouldn’t scream and go crazy when he came out of his trailer, and to my surprise, they DIDN’T. It was really calm, actually. He was outside of the trailers for literally 20 seconds each time and the only reason it looks like he’s really unhappy is because the paps shoot nonstop when he moves. Every frame is like one millionth of a breath he takes or something. He was barely outside. A minute in total, tops.
In reality, seeing him move between his trailers those two times, he just looked shy. Not unhappy. And he did smile at the fans in the brief second he walked by. I was really surprised there were not more people and commotion because I had seen that awful video where he got mobbed. But if yesterday was any indication, that hoopla has died down a LOT. It was the most uneventful film set I’ve ever been on.
And don’t tell me he wouldn’t have crazy fans anywhere he goes — because that is ridiculous. There will be crazy fans in London, too — even if they aren’t Londoners.
Bottom line, don’t believe anything rag mags write because they are just trying to whip you into a frenzy. It was really cool to actually be there first-hand and see that most of what they write is total bullsh*t. From what I saw, he didn’t look scared, ungrateful or whiny — just like a guy trying to do his job.
I would also like to state my amazement at how quickly these photos got sold and put up on this website — he walked in Regis to start filming at 10:30am and this story was already up by 11:11? Not much time for responsible “journalism.” Further proof you should take this stuff with a grain of salt.
