Strapped to a giant knife thrower’s target, a thong-tastic Bruno — aka Sacha Baron Cohen — implicitly acknowledges the polarizing debate around his hit-and-run comedy that opens TODAY (July 10)
“Yes, he is puerile, offensive, and utterly inappropriate, but so what?” writes Aaron Hicklin in his Editor’s Letter. “The same has been said of Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor, Joan Rivers, and Sarah Silverman, comic geniuses all, whose humor rests on having the balls to say ‘boo’ to the ghost in the room.” The ghost in this case, he adds, is homophobia — “Although whether it’s being lampooned or perpetuated is part of the tension that makes the movie work.”

I wish this no-talent loser would just please go away!!!! He’s everywhere in his desperation for publicity, even in pop-up ads on my computer. Get lost and take your dumb, unfunny movie with you. I hope it bombs big time and that people aren’t stupid enough to actually pay money to see it.

just saw the movie last night and it was great! i’ve been a fan since Da Ali G show back in the day and i love how ridiculous he is and how he shamelessly exposes how close-minded it seems most people are. good for sacha baron cohen. i’m a fan.
Sacha Baron Cohen is a great comedian, the Charlie Chaplin of our time. Love his work and he is very funny. Genius.
How on earth this movie did not get an NC-17 rating?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! There’s full frontal male nudity, for starters, along with several graphic depictions of sexual acts.
