Drew Barrymore & Ellen Page: Roller Skating Page
With a hilarious cast including Ellen Page, Drew Barrymore, and Kristen Wiig, roller-derby comedy Whip It is bound to score some laughs.
Synopsis via USA Today: Ellen stars as a rebellious teenager who signs up to play the brutal and sexy female sport (derby) against her mother’s will, finding friendship and freedom among the bruises and falls.
“Everything I’ve learned throughout my whole life has been going into this piggy bank, and I just smashed it all over the floor for this one,” Drew says of directing the film, which opens October 9.

Picture someone who is a sponge and had spent 33 years around music and movie making and makers just soaking up every good thing and then storing it away (in a piggy bank).
Then picture Eric Clapton as a kid wanting to crack his piggy bank b/c he sees his first guitar in a store window. He was probably born with all that mojo in him.
Some people take a few more years to want to crack open their piggy bank.
I think this movie’s going to be awesome. Can’t wait.
