Ebmo, what’s the current expert opinion on experimentation with snorting heroin? I realize it’s a different and harder drug but I know too many people who snorted cocaine back in the day - and on a regular basis for extended periods of time - yet for the most part when they decided it was getting too expensive they stopped without needing any kind of rehab and they didn’t return to use. I’m not saying they didn’t miss it - some a lot - but in the end they were okay with the fact it was no longer a part of their life. Of course as they matured partying was also pretty much a thing of the past for them. Don’t know if it matters but these were all well paid, hard working professionals at the time and continued as such with full lives and most eventually with families.

Have you ever used your addiction expertise to try an assessment of those so negatively obsessed with Angie and her family? They are so pro-active about it to such an extreme that there must be some level of addictive behavior involved. Or I suppose they are just plain b i t c h e s. LOL!

A substance is a substance is a substance. Generally only the methods of delivery are the variables. IV injection creates an intense “rush” within about 30 seconds, snorting; 30-60 seconds, smoking; within 3-4 minutes, orally takes the longest and some drugs cannot be delivered via the stomach.

When diagnosing addiction there is a continuum. - Use, Abuse, Dependence and Addiction. - Any person can fall somewhere in that range. (For example anyone who has ever gotten smahed - has abused substances.

When someone is assessed for addiction they are generally given a battery of tests as well as a personal interview. It is a lot more complicated than someone getting a DUI, or someone using substances ocassionally.

We generally look for repeated themes of the “big six”:

“SUBSTANCE DEPENDENCE (ADDICTION/ALCOHOLISM)

THREE or more of the following:

TOLERANCE
WITHDRAWAL

LARGE AMOUNTS OVER A LONG PERIOD

UNSUCCESSFUL EFFORTS TO CUT DOWN

TIME SPENT IN OBTAINING THE SUBSTANCE REPLACES
SOCIAL, OCCUPATIONAL OR RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES

CONTINUED USE DESPITE ADVERSE CONSEQUENCES ”

We take the results of all these tests/interviews as well as the DSM-IV-TR criteria - and assess their level of use.

Sniffing has just as much potential for addiction as IV use. Use or abuse does not mean addiction. It is very common for some CDPs and addictionaologists to “see” addiction in every substance, (Dr. Drew frequently does this with his off the cuff diagnosis’ which is technically a violation of ethics)

The other school of thought is that ANYTHING has the potential to be abused….it is all whether or not when use becomes a problem, money, relationships, work, or negative consequences, the person STOPS.

People stop all the time after a period of use. Heroin is a lot easier for the body to recover from than alchoholl….even when it reaches the addiction stage. Alcohol withdrawal can lead to seizures and death , Heroin withdrawal might make you wish you were dead but there is little danger of occurrence.

In addtion, Alcohol is legal and commonly accepted at social events, easily available, Very visable etc. etc. Alcohol is regulated by the FDA so there is little chance it is tainted with Fentanyl or another substance that could cause a synergistic effect. Less chance of overdose but when combined with other substances….huge chance of death, and dead means the same, whoever you are.

Every person is diferent….just depends. Eric Clapton had a huge “snorting” addiction to Heroin way back when, he has admitted he was under treatment with a private Psychiatrist for 3 years trying to kick it.

I am not surprised you have known people who have snorted it who have quit it…it happens all the time.

Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari made a ‘thank you’ call to Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie for donating a million dollars for the people displaced by anti-Taliban military operations in the country’s northwest.

Zardari thanked Jolie and her Partner Brad Pitt , who jointly run the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, during the phone call on Monday and also invited them to visit Pakistan, sources said.

The Hollywood power couple have been running the Jolie-Pitt Foundation to assist in humanitarian crises around the world.
Jolie, who has been a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commission on Refugees since 2001, donated a million dollars on World Refugee Day to aid displaced people in Pakistan.

Jolie has said she decided to provide aid to the displaced Pakistanis because the refugee crisis in the country was relatively new and the numbers of displaced persons had “jumped so quickly”.

“I think in the last few weeks, there were about 100,000 displaced a day. There’s over two million now. That’s a very healthy performance given that Universal paid $42.5 million to distribute the film domestically and in key foreign territories and is receiving an unusually high distribution fee.

It’s shockingly low, however, given that “Bruno” grossed $14.4 million on Friday. Based on the performance of “Borat,” Baron Cohen’s first film, and other R-rated comedies, it looked like the film would gross close to $40 million after that.

But “Bruno” lost a lot of momentum on Saturday, earning only $8.8 million. “Borat,” by contrast, earned more on its first Saturday than Friday. The big 39% drop forced Universal to estimate that the movie will gross $30.4 million, less than it and other studios were expecting on Friday.

It’s a strong sign that while there was significant initial demand to see the movie on its first day, word-of-mouth may not be so strong and it won’t go on to earn anything close to the $128.5 million “Borat” ultimately made in the U.S. and Canada.

Haven does not own nor does he live in an apartment. Where he does live though is very accessible. His address isn’t exactly a secret so I am sure the paps stalk it now and then and if Angie were there you can be sure there would be pics of her coming and going. It’s not as easy for the paps to lie in wait around the Los Feliz compound anymore since I believe they instituted a restricted neighborhood parking regulation - I’m not positive if it passed though. If it did pass they can violate it and hope not to get caught or drive around the streets hoping to get lucky.

Who knows if Page Six is right or not. It isn’t as if they are all that reliable. But Angie has owned several apartments in NYC in the past and this would be a good time to buy since the market is still somewhat depressed in NYC. If they buy you will know about it since it’s pretty easy to uncover property sales even if you use proxies. Angie has made all her past real estate transactions in her own name. Brad’s real estate trust names are well known. So I’d be surprised if they’ve managed to disguise any transactions. Or it could just be real estate agents trying to drum up sales and using the Pitts to do it.

The paps can’t get in the Los Feliz neighborhood because it’s a gated community and has been for a while. It’s not as easy for the paps to lie in wait around the Los Feliz compound anymore since I believe they instituted a restricted neighborhood parking regulation - I’m not positive if it passed though. If it did pass they can violate it and hope not to get caught or drive around the streets hoping to get lucky.

The paps can’t get in the Los Feliz neighborhood because it’s a gated community and has been for a while. When that ratzi twit dropped Brad off last week, on the video of it, you could see them shooting over Brad’s shoulder trying to record the key-combo he was going to punch in - lowlifes that they are. Brad saw what they were doing and used his cell phone to get someone to remotely open the gate for him.

PT, the neighborhood isn’t gated. Just his compound which is a big chunk of property between two (actually 3 streets) streets. His main house has a longish driveway that winds up to the craftsman house. He’s owned a few other houses in the same two blocks besides the 3 that make up his compound - now 4 since last April 2008 when Brad quietly added another small house. The newest wasn’t even on the market - he must be buying out his neighbors slowly but surely. LOL!One he sold to the head of his security team a while ago which is a contiguous property so I guess that could be considered part of his compound and another non-contiguous house & property he sold to someone.

The neighborhood has regular homes on it with driveways to the street - some mid-century homes not all that expensive. But I do believe the only ones gated are part of his property. It’s just a regular street that you really couldn’t gate off - there are houses on both sides of the street. There may be another house in there but I can’t imagine why he would have included that on his compound or why any neighbor would agree to that. I do remember some old man supposedly still lived in one of the houses (the old stone house with a ballroom) but that was a long time ago.

If you ever needed any more proof of how low the paps are then your example of them trying to film his scurity code is the last straw. Why would anyone do that unless they intended to break into this property? I guess their old method of just cutting the chain was too crude. This is the mentality of these paps.

The coercion is something I have a real problem with. One of my usually favorite judges shocked me when he insisted that my client either enter rehab then and there or go to jail. It was extremely coercive obviously and made me wonder how effective the treatment would be if the client wasn’t receptive to it. But I have seen that work sometimes if for no other reason than it takes the person out of their environment for enough time to get their head together.

To all Angie fans. Why any of us are at all bothered by the haters and trolls who spread lies about Angie is beyond me. True Angie fans and even Jenhens can not deny that Angie has never lied to her fans or to anyone for that matter. You may not always like what she has to say but it is always the truth. Who knows Angie might opt out of the IB premiere in London he wants to save the drama until the L.A. premiere.I really try not to believe the stories about things like that. But every time there is a movie to be released there has to be some drama going on about his personal life. Not fo AJ she was caught up in that mess when He and Aniston were promoting their movies. They were swapping PR tactics then.

I’m kinda doubting this story only because living in NY you realize that realtors are publicity ho’s and try to use boldface names to bring a certain image or interest to their properties. The really upscale properties shun any kind of publicity. Not everyone is like Donald Frump whoring out his properties as the biggest, the best, etc….

Just like the tabloids, “looking at” is kind of a safe way to promote your property without actually saying they have bought, especially when the prominent people have not really looked or bought at all.

However, if she is naturally a honey to dark blond, I’ve only read about it once, and that was in a UK tabloid where they framed her words in a strange manner anyway about Shiloh.
